Glorious sunny rooms. Beautiful colors. Newly renovated. Mint condition. Sky lights. Spectacular spa quality designer shower. This is your home away from home right in the center of the hustle and bustle that's Bar Harbor during the summer season. While others circle the town looking for that elusive parking spot, you slip quietly into your own spacious three car accommodation, a few yards from the center of town, across from the Village Green where every night is a summer festival. Don't feel like making breakfast? Delicious blueberry pancakes await right across the courtyard at Cafe This Way where regulars return for scrumptious breakfasts and legendary dinners. Then stroll along the garden, turn right and check out the shops, something for every taste and every budget. Go for a scenic cruise around the island, see a whale, hop aboard a four masted schooner, eat some lobsters, swim in pristine lakes or brave the ocean, hike the trails, bike the carriage roads. Welcome!

FANTASTIC HIDEAWAY

I cannot rave too much about the Hideaway. In fact, I was tempted not to review it - I'm worried about a mad dash on the place that makes it hard for me to book it next time!
It is a lovely home in a perfect location. The description is 100% accurate - wonderful light, comfy rooms, beautiful spa shower, huge kitchen, comfy fireplace, great work desk.
I visited the Hideaway late Dec through early Jan to hunker down in a comfy place, go on hikes in the day and walk to town in the afternoons and evenings. This place was perfect. Everything is brand new and spanking clean, and the glorious windows let in wonderful light, but the Hideaway is still nestled in a corner off the main path so you don't feel like your in the middle of town (even though you are!). I could walk to the grocery store, restaurants, the movie theater, even the YMCA is close by. Eagle Lake is 3 miles up the road on which the Hideaway sits.
There's a great TV, cable and many, many DVDs. Flawless internet access.
The owner is next door - very sweet to check on me, but completely respectful of privacy. She's quite the charmer!
I would stay at the Hideaway any time - it is by far one of the top homes I've ever rented. I didn't think anything could make Bar Harbor better, but the Hideaway does. Fantastic! Highly recommended.

That is high praise indeed, coming from someone who travels as much as you do! Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated. Winters in Bar Harbor, although sometimes brutally cold, can be fantastic! The cross country skiing trails, always impeccably groomed, are unmatched.

Best Vacation Ever

We LOVED this unit. It was convenient to everything. We walked to all the stores, all the eateries, the docks, the beach, the shore paths. The proprietor was the most thoughtful landlord I have ever had. She even left a basket with wine, cheese and chocolate on the table as a welcome. This place was clean, updated and came stocked with dishwasher detergent, toilet paper and paper towels. We did not need to bring a thing except our clothes. She even had beach towels we could use.
The washer and dryer were convenient. The bathroom was to die for with its walk-in shower, double sinks and lots of room. The kitchen was full size with eat-in area. The half bath on the main floor was a blessing.
We cooked out on her Weber grill one night with friends.
She has wi-fi, flat-screen TV and even long distance calling.
Our vacation could not have been better.

You Will Love This Spectacular Hideaway

BH Village Green Hideaway may be called a hideaway but you are far from hiding from anything. This large and comfortable rental is perfectly centered for all activities in Bar Harbor. So perfect that you can park your car and walk. Walk to shops, restaurants, shore path, whale watching cruises, and the grocery store.
We were welcomed warmly with a personal note and touches of home to make the stay excellent from the second we arrive. Conveniences abound at this rental. Inside is clean and roomy. Outside is beautiful and comfortable. Cooking lobster inside, and eating dinner outside, or planning the next day by the fireplace inside. Movies and music for the time you need to relax. Fresh bright colors of paint and 3 full bedrooms. This rental has things you probably don't even know you wanted...like a lobster pot to cook your lobster or a board game to play with your children before bed.
I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Bar Harbor. I know without a doubt that nothing NOTHING would have been as good as Bar Harbor Village Green Hideaway was for us. Maine was Ah-MAINE-Zing and we'll be back to this special hideaway. Thanks so much!!!

We stayed here last year. We were referred to Ann by a mutual contact and she accommodated us with only a few hours notice. Ann even found time to put together a little welcome basket. The home is in the prefect location (central yet very secluded) and is immaculate from top to bottom. Our two daughter (5 and 9) still rave about the shower! The patio and garden is beautifully kept and fenced off so we never felt any guilt in pushing the girls outside to play whilst the grownups had a quick cocktail. The kitchen is lovely but you hardly need it, there are dozens of restaurants within 5 minutes walk and we did not use our car all the time we were in Bar Harbor, the island shuttles are right there! Ann is a wonderful lady and this is a wonderful home.

Lovely, clutter-free home with all amenities and close to everything. No car needed, can bike everywhere. In the heart of town but still feels like a wonderful, hidden oasis.
