Wow!

We could not have picked a better place to stay! After much time spent looking for a place online, we finally came across this one and I'm so glad we did. The pictures do not do it justice. It is much bigger in size then it looks online and the surrounding trees and overall ambiance cannot be expressed in the photos. It is very secluded and quiet and if we had more time, we would have been happy spending the whole day on the private porch, in the hammock. The vibe feels as though you might be far away in the mountains, but you're actually only a few blocks from State St. and close everything else we wanted to do in town. David and Saral are wonderful and very welcoming. They offered all the advice we needed on where to go and what to do. My only regret is not staying for a longer period of time. I plan to go back again soon!

I can't say enough about this place! My husband and I stayed here for two nights on a little road trip and it was truly one of the most special places we have ever stayed. It felt like we were on our honeymoon all over again. The cottage is cozy, clean and has this wonderful vibe about it. We made dinner in both nights because we just wanted to be in the cottage! One night we went to the Santa Barbara farmer's market and brought back all of our ingredients to make the most amazing salad we have ever had! The innkeepers are very special people - they genuinely want you to have a good time. They keep their distance but they are there for you if you need anything...from dining suggestions to driving directions - they are THE BEST! I knew we had made the right choice the minute they came to greet us in the driveway, walked us down to the cottage, helped us with our bags, and made sure we were comfortably settled - when they left I noticed a bottle of red wine, san pelligrino, and chocolate waiting for us to start our cozy night in! We will be back - THIS IS TRULY A SPECIAL PLACE! you will not be disappointed! (I wanted to move in!)

Santa Barbara Vacation

Lo Lo San Francisco
Review Submitted: April 30, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We had a wonderful experience. My boyfriend and I are from San Francisco we wanted to visit his family that lived in Santa Barbara and also have a quite four days to ourselves away from our hectic lives. This place was exactly what we were looking for in terms of relaxation. The owner David and Saral are very nice and accommodating people. This is a place that i would recommend to our friends.

Sycamore cottage is a lovely little getaway tucked in
the trees. It is perfect for one, but even more
perfect for two! Romantic and picturesque, follow
the little path down to your own private hideaway. I
thoroughly enjoyed my time there and found all of
the comforts of home. David and Saral own the
cottage and are always ready with suggestions of a
great beach walk, romantic restaurant, yoga studio
or a long hike. And though they are available, they
definitely leave you to yourself. The cottage is a
fantastic restful little spot. I will definitely be back
for many years to come!

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely cottage. It's intimate size and beautiful garden put you in an instant peaceful mood. Wander down the flagstone steps to the garden, and you'll find a Bocce Ball court! The area is perfect...incredibly quiet and serene, yet close to everything; the freeway, renowned State St. for shopping, dining and entertainment, and the added ease of grocery stores, coffee shops, and Blockbuster right around the corner! Although we weren't fortunate enough to meet the innkeepers, the neighbors are incredibly gracious and nice. Even if they don't know you, they'll wave as you leave and return. If you're looking for a "pause" in life, Sycamore Cottage is where you need to go.

My husband and I spent a wonderful November at Sycamore Cottage. The approach to the very private space is down a stepping stone path surrounded by lush fruit trees and fragrant flowering plants. Cozy and airy, the small cottage was large enough to be comfortable for two people. We particularly enjoyed the deck and ate as many meals as possible at the outdoor dining table. There are special touches everywhere, including original art, and views of a succulent garden from stained glass windows in the dining and sleeping nooks. David and Saral, the innkeepers, welcomed us with warmth and charm; and they graciously complied with every request we made. The cottage is quiet and secluded but only a two or three minute drive to excellent shopping, restaurants, and freeway access. We enjoyed this serene getaway lodging immensely.
