Enjoy the great Mid-Coast of Maine with all of its greatness, from sailing, lobster, state parks, hiking and quaint towns. Sit and relax and have a wonderful view of Belfast harbor from both decks. This wonderful air-condtioned 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage has been tastefully redesigned and completely furnished by award winning Janis Stone, from Interiors By Janis. The cottage features a wrap around deck on the first level, and a smaller lookout perch from the top deck. We have recently installed air conditioning to provide additional comfort. Take a short walk over the new footbridge to downtown Belfast to shop or enjoy one of the fun-filled events this summer in the lovely and culturally cool town of Belfast. Young's Lobster Pound and Perry's are also a short walk from the cottage. The town of Camdem is 18 miles south and Bar Harbor is 58 miles north of Belfast.

The Beauty of Belfast: Belfast is a charming coastal town that represents the best of what a Maine vacation has to offer! The small town has restaurants and shops that make it fun for the whole family. The activities at the waterfront make this a great spot to spend a week or a month. Enjoy plays, concerts, and other cultural activities. Belfast has been called a culturally cool town. There are making working artists in town and they usually have their work on display.

Great Place to Escape the Heat and Relax

Great place with an awesome location! We had been to Belfast before, but this was our best trip. The property was very clean, well maintained and the owner was very helpful. Grilling lobater on the deck was fun and a walk across the bridge ended every day! I would recommend this property to anyone as it was decorated with taste and quite comfortable! Seveal good restaurants up the road!

The entire area was a lot of fun, including the Maine Prison gift shop that was full of model boats made and operated by the prisoners. I have purchased several boats and duck decoys there! We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage; it is lovely with all the comforts of home! The owner has given careful thought to what guests need during their vacation....from the towels in the bathrooms to the utensils in the kitchen, everything is provided for. Having air-conditioning was a big plus for us, as we had a few hot days during our time there; however, there were several days when we opened the windows to enjoy the breeze. The footbridge which crosses the harbor and leads into Belfast is a short walk away. Belfast has many interesting shops and a variety of restaurants. The location is excellent....Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are a little more than an hour away. We recommend Harbor Watch Cottage highly!

Harbor Watch Getaway Vacation

In August ,2011 we spent a week at Harbor Watch cottage in Belfast, Maine. Being from Dallas, we were anxious to get out of the heat, relax and enjoy some local lobster. My husband and I, daughter and 13 year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harbor Watch. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The owner was very accommodating and checked in with us a couple of times to see if we had everything we needed. The city of Belfast was charming, and we enjoyed walking over the footbridge into town. There were two decks overlooking Belfast Harbor and we often sat outside to enjoy the view and peaceful setting. Our favorite dinner was bringing home 2 pound lobsters from Youngs Lobster Pound and eating at the cottage. Places we enjoyed visiting were Camden, Lincolnville, Rockland and Acadia National Park. We would love to go back to Maine in the future and highly recommend Harbor Watch as an excellent place to vacation!

A great vacation! A lovely cottage overlooking the river and city of Belfast... A perfect view. We loved the walks across the footbridge to enjoy a delicious dinner or a quick snack. Great location... Minutes walk to town and a short drive to other popular areas.

The cottage was fantastic... All the amenities one could ask for... Clean and perfectly maintained to boot.

We can't wait to come back!

This house is a great find! There were only two of us, but it could fit more easily. My favorite part is the deck with its beautiful view. Perfect for sitting outside any time of the day or night! The house is well maintained, very clean and bright. The owners provided a list of local restaurants, shops, etc. as well as other attractions in the surrounding area (complete with directions). Very thoughtful. We were there in the "off season" and some shops and businesses were closed, but still found lots to do. Would recommend it highly.

Enjoyed Stay at Cottage - It is Lovely

Submitted: August 17, 2011 Stayed: August 2009
Dennis,
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage - it is lovely - the weather was beautiful. We left about 9:00 on Sat, and everything was as we found it. A table on the deck would be nice because it would be great to eat breakfast outside - the mornings were just beautiful.

Note from Owner: After Marianna and her family's departure we purchased a nice picnic table for the deck. The table compliments the adirondack chairs that are located on the lower deck.

Enjoyable Time in Belfast! Cottage Very Nice.

Submitted: August 17, 2011 Stayed: October 2010
Dennis,
We are back in Texas, of course, and I wanted to write you a quick note to let you know that we really had an enjoyable time in Belfast and the surrounding area. Your cottage is very nice and was a good home base for us as we ventured in all directions all the time enjoying the changing leaves which got better with each passing day.
Jim was very helpful during our stay. We left him a bottle of wine with a note of our thanks. I hope he likes wine!
We departed the house and then remembered we still had the garage door opener so we left it inside the garage just above the opener that is attached to the wall. Hopefully Jim has found it. We turned the heat to 55 as you suggested.
If there are any questions you have of us, please feel free to shoot us an e-mail.
Regards,
Joe

My colleagues and I had an excellent stay!

The accomodations were top notch, spotless and beautifully maintained. We found the house to be an excellent spot for a BBQ as well as walking distance to some great eateries (Young's Lobster Pound, Darby's, Dockside) and colorful local pubs (Rollies, Three Tides, the Lookout.) Dennis was a pleasure to deal with and I hope to do business with him again when the opportunity allows.

Homesick for Belfast! – that’s us. We just returned from a 2 month stay in this lovely cottage and can’t wait to return!

This precious cottage is comfortable and the owners and local representatives are extra extra special. Any question or need is quickly addressed including directions to the best Lobster Pound - Young's - in mid-coast Maine! AND it is WALKING distance from the Cottage.

Neat as a pin, well maintained and beautifully decorated by a well-known local designer, everything one could want to make a pleasant vacation is here. The kitchen is very well equipped so we were able to take advantage of the best of the local produce and seafood. The dining room is surrounded by windows looking across the deck toward the harbor and town. Beautiful.

The entertainment center (TV, DVD collection, etc) are great and the seating is comfy and well suited for the space.

The wrap-around & upstairs deck give a peaceful and beautiful view of town & harbor activity. The footbridge at the end of the street goes right over to Belfast so it is easy to explore the town on foot. We hardly used the car at all, certainly not around town – just stowed it in the garage most of the time.

There is a farmers’ co-op store in town where you can buy spices, honey, maple syrup, etc by bulk – as little or as much as you need. Also fresh dairy & eggs. The store is great. There is a good restaurant on the property and quite a few locals are there for coffee in the mornings.

The outdoors Farmers’ Market starts the first of May and is fun. Good fresh food locally grown.

There is another store in town – Chase’s Daily that also supplies seasonal fresh produce from local farms. Chase’s Daily also has very good baked goods and meals. Darby’s Restaurant is yummy, and we really couldn’t decide on our favorite places to eat in town between these and others we visited.

In June the boaters start community sails and rowing outings on the harbor. There are other harbor boat tours and more great things to do near-by Belfast. We found a good Mexican food place just down the road & in another direction a definite go-to barbeque joint. Lots of good exploring to do from the vantage point of this mid-coast location.

And there seems to be something happening all the time in Belfast. We are truly homesick for this place and the lovely cottage there. The photos of the cottage here are great, but being there is best, of course!

We’re booked for next year! Can’t wait.
