Highlight of our Vacation

downunder Sydney Australia
Review Submitted: October 27, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We have just returned from a trip to the Hawaiian Islands and by far the highlight of our vacation was our time spent at Maile Tree House. Since returning, we have raved about this beautiful, warm and cosy home to anyone who will listen.

We were thrilled to discover something new about the house each day and loved uncovering all the little 'surprises'. The vases of fresh flowers in every room were an especially nice touch.

Although the pictures on the website are lovely, they cannot possibly capture the uniqueness of this perfect piece of paradise. It has to be seen to be believed!

Thank you so much Leslie and Michael for not only your warm hospitality but for the wonderful lasting memories from our time at Maile Tree House.

This is truly an enchanted treehouse , the creative attention to detail gave rise to new, fun discoveries throught our stay.  This is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting, but I really think it is all the little things that show this home was decorated with heart, soul and spirit to share the magic! We hope to visit again.

Beautiful accommodations

Review Submitted: November 10, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
What a beautiful home! Of the 2 weeks we spent in the islands, our 3 day stay here was a highlight. The rainforest is beautiful and the natural privacy it provides is magical. The treehouse is designed and built beautifully. Leslie and Michael have invested much time and thought into making it a true haven and have provided all the necessities plus lots of special extras. It was clean, tidy, and well organized. The surprises kept us entertained throughout our stay and the personal touches made it more than mere "accommodations." I would highly recommend staying here. You won't regret it.

It's hard to believe a place can live up to the spectacular reviews one reads online, but this treehouse did! It is truly a beautiful, thoughtful home. We had a wonderful stay on the Island.

Heaven

Review Submitted: September 14, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Mahalo to Leslie Hess for the warm Aloha we received at the Maile Tree House. This property is immaculate. We have never stayed anywhere that compares to this lovely, peaceful, beautiful, wonderfully decorated piece of heaven. Words cannot express our thanks for letting us experience this place in the rain forest. Our plans were to get up early and hike, but instead we drank cup after cup of coffee and enjoyed the backyard. If we had to do it over, we would stay here much longer. We will be back!

Dear L n M
We immensely enjoyed this home away from home. We wanted for nothing. We enjoy cooking and were delighted to see such a well provisioned kitchen! The mood is charming and we spent
leisurely mornings on the lanai listening to the birds and watching the clouds roll by. We heartily congratulate them for providing such a wonderful place for all who come.
Cheers,

The Maile Tree House...a Paradise within Paradise!

Unpapillon Honolulu, HI
Review Submitted: September 12, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We love the Maile Tree House, a paradise within paradise! The kitchen was awesome, with every tool we needed to make everything we wanted. The beds were comfortable, the fireplace was cozy, the jacuzzi tub was relaxing and the environment...beautiful and peaceful. Every day was an opportunity to find something new to appreciate around the house. A lot of thought went into this place, down to providing rain jackets and flashlights. There was even a pair of scissors and a push light by the entry so you can see where to put your key in at night! You definitely need to stay here to realize the awesomeness of this special place.

The listing description was accurate regarding location, layout, and amenities. The home looks great in the pictures, however, in person, it is even better! The property was clean and well maintained. There is a beautiful garden which is very well kept with beautiful flora and fauna...even some surprises! Though there was no need to contact the owner during our stay as everything was great...communication before our stay was timely and friendly. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative and already have. We did not need to dine at any restaurants in the area as we had a great kitchen. As for attractions the home was near the entrance to the Volcanoes National Park where we did my favorite hike...the Kilauea Iki trail. We made a visit to the Volcano Winery and did a wine tasting...very unique and delicious wine. Punalu`u Black Sand Beach was about 40 minutes away and we saw a green turtle eating limu off of the rocks! Any time we went out, we always looked forward to returning to our beautiful home!

Truly Divine Invention

KeboDemJess Weston, Ma
Review Submitted: July 23, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
I am sorry to say that the owners will find many deep scratches in the woodwork around the upstairs door and the downstairs door frames where I had to pull my wife and daughter, who had death grips with their fingernails, while I tried to pull them out of the house kicking and screaming because they refused to leave and go to Kauai!!!

The place is beyond description and I don't have enough superlative adjectives to describe all the wonderful things I think about the Maile Treehouse. The owners have done such a superb job designing, decorating, and detailing, and are extremely talented. It is such a restful, peaceful, mystical place and we just loved discovering and relishing all the little things they have done to make it beyond special.

We loved every minute we were there and in fact stayed many hours in the mornings just so we could enjoy the ambiance, listen to the gentle music provided and chill... We are so sorry we only booked for three nights at this truly divine invention.

We truly loved this little hidden gem. The pictures don't do it justice. All the little things done there really make it special. We hated to leave but are already making plans for another trip back to this lovely house that is full of care and thoughtfulness. They accomplished their goal, everything was perfect.
