This is the place to relax and be away from the hustle and bustle of your day trips. In the Fall the beauty is just beyond explanation of the colors. Call us now We have great dates still available for this, Spring and Summer and next Fall.and Winter . You can get to Cross Village or Harbor Springs in a very short time. The cabin is just the place to to stay for cross country hiking,and exploring in Wilderness State Park. Or if you are a fisherman it is great fishing on Paradise Lake just five miles east of the cabin.

If you are looking for that special place in Northern Michigan to disappear to this is it. This cabin is only 3.5 miles to Lake Michigan and the most beautiful sand beach to be found. There is no place like Cub Cabin! Off the beaten path, yet close to everything if you choose to venture away from this little slice of heaven! It is beautiful, meticulously maintained and has all the amenities you could possibly need, and then some! Mike and Linda are the MOST gracious and warm hosts! We stumbled across Cub Cabin online on a Thursday, crossed our fingers and called Mike; fortunately it was available and we were there a few hours later. Greeted with a friendly smile, open arms and delicious banana bread & cookies! We needed a peaceful romantic place to decompress and Cub Cabin delivered! Cub Cabin will be an annual destination for us!

We love Cub Cabin in any season!

A wonderful long weekend at our favorite place: Cub Cabin. We discovered deer hoofprints right on the porch. I guess he was coming to visit us, but saw we weren't home....We loved snowshoeing and crosscountry skiing in Wilderness State Park - wonderful groomed trails and the peace and quiet only found Up North. So cozy to be in front of the fire inside, watching the snow outside. I always feel renewed and restored after a visit here.
It's hard to find new superlatives to use to describe our host. They are always so gracious, and the cabin is so cozy and tidy. Mike shared some elk burger from an elk Linda shot last fall - it made the best chili ever! We reserved for the same weekend next year.

The cabin was an oasis from the hectic duties of day-to-day life. Everything in the cabin was just as identified in the pictures. Mike was a wonderful host and Linda's treats were the best. My wife and I recommend this cozy little getaway for any couple looking to spend time together and be away from it all.

Amazing!!!

We arrived late Friday night, as soon as we pulled into the driveway, Mike was out there greeting us. He showed us everything we needed to know about the cozy little cabin and made us feel right at home. We knew our trip was going to be a good one!!!! Linda made some really good peanut butter cookies and banana bread. The cabin is EXACTLY what we were looking for. Also, it is so close to some of the best things Michigan has to offer! We were sad to leave!!! A weekend just was not long enough!! We are planning a longer trip up there this summer!! I would without a doubt recommend this cabin to anyone!! Thank you again Mike and Linda for such a great weekend!!!

Perfect Cozy Getaway

If you found this cabin, you've already found the best kept secret outside of Mackinaw City. This cozy little cabin is perfect for the couple looking to reconnect, or the adventurous couple who needs a home base to explore northern Michigan. The cabin is completely self-contained, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. It's great year 'round, it just depends on what you want to do while you're there. We like to go in the winter and enjoy the snow and the sauna, have pizza at Clyde's Place and explore a little of Mackinaw City or Petosky. Don't hesitate to stay here, the photos are exactly what the cabin looks like, the only thing missing from the photos are the fresh baked goodies left for you when you arrive. Great place to stay!

We were so glad that MIke had a few nights open to us. We would have been so disappointed to have missed out on the opportunity to meet Mike and Linda and enjoy their wonderful cabin and hospitality. We enjoyed the immediate area and traveled to Mackinac Island for a day as well. Mike has invited us back and we are already checking our calendars to see when we can get away! Would love to experieince this place in all of the seasons! Thanks again Mike and LInda,this was the best experience we have had renting a place!

Our Home Away From Home

We arrived at Cub Cabin on 19, Oct. 2012 and stayed until 25, Oct.2012. When we arrived Mike met me at my truck and introduced himself to us. He was very friendly. He went to the cabin with us and showed us everything, inside and out. He explained everything very well. The cabin had all the amities as listed. The cabins cleanliness was emaculate. Mike told us if we needed anything, to let him know.The cabin was so cozy. My wife and I couldn't have thought of a greater place to stay for our 10th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our stay so much.We did a lot of driving and hiking in the U.P. We also drove thru Wilderness Park a couple times and did some hiking there.We saw several deer and some bear tracks. We also took some great pictures. Mike recommended we drive thru the Tunnel of trees. It was beautiful. Thanks Mike. He also recommended that we eat at Clydes Drive-In on U.S. 2. The C-Burgers were great. He also recommended That we eat at Audies in Mackinaw city for our anniversary. We did and the food was excellant. Thanks Mike for all the recommendations.This was the greatest place we could have choose to stay and we can hardly wait to stay there again. My wife and I would recommend Cub Cabin to any couple that would like to have an enjoyable get-away in the North Woods. Thanks Linda for the banana bread and the chocolate chip pumpkin cookies. They were delicious. Once again Mike, thanks for the great hospitality.

A fantastic place to relax, get away from it all.

Our second stay at Cub Cabin was again most pleasant and restful. Michigan is a great place to vacation and Cub Cabin is the place to be. The property is so well maintained that you feel like you are in your own home. Mike was a great host. He even mailed me my phone charger when I left it plugged in. MIke is as friendly and helpful as can be and gave us info on surrounding events. We've hit two seasons now at Cub Cabin, and expect to return soon. I look forward to visiting in winter when the snow is piled high. The cabin will be as cozy as ever. Then again in spring, when I can hunt morel mushrooms. You don't want to miss staying in this lovely cabin in the woods. Plenty of restaurants around, drive to Harbor Spirngs and go to The Pier for a lovely lunch or dinner, see the tunnel of trees, walk Mackinaw City, visit the Legs Inn right up the road....the list goes on and on.

Best cottage in Michigan!

We spent 8 days at Cub Cabin - our 2nd vacation there, and our favorite place to stay in all of Michigan. Lake Michigan sunsets and sandy beaches are moments away. Wilderness State Park has hiking trails galore. Pop over to Mackinaw
Island for a day. There's lots to do - or do nothing at all (my personal favorite). Mike and Linda are superb hosts. The cabin has everything you can think of, and, if you need anything, just ask Mike. He knows everything about the area (and everyone, I think!). It's the cleanest, cutest, most restful cabin possible, better than the description by far. Sleeping in the upstairs loft is like being in a tree house. You'll love it!

upon arriving at the cabin, i noticed that it's nicer than the online pictures. mike gave my cousin and i information right away, a key, and cookies and banana bread that linda had baked (so excellent!). we had come to visit my cousin's son working on mackinac island, and really enjoyed coming back to the cabin every evening. it has everything you need and want in a vacation home, and is beautiful. i just wish we had more time to spend there. it is cozy and peaceful, and an excellent place to relax, so clean and well taken care of. mike was always ready to help or answer any questions we had. his tip on the polo match being held close by made for a great afternoon! we have already recommended the cub cabin to relatives and friends and hope to stay there again!
