None Better Than This Perfect In Every Way!

Loulee MA
Review Submitted: September 9, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I can not possibly say enough good things about this rental. It was truly a wonderful and magical place. The cottage was perfect. Spotless when we arrived. I loved the charm of the decor with a mix of antique, vintage and new, all blended together giving the home a special warm & cozy charm. Everything is there that you could possibly need, plus some. They even happened to have a small plastic kiddie pool much to our childs delight since it was such a huge disappointment when we couldn't bring ours. Truly, all you need to bring is clothes to wear since they have supplied everything else!
The property is truly wonderful with walking trails throughout. Beautiful views to enjoy, forest, and nature's beauty all around. A perfect way to enjoy God's creation! You can easily stay put at the cottage and enjoy the property and all it has to offer if you don't want to deal with crowds, or, you can hit all the tourist attractions since they are surprising, only a very short driving distance away. We loved hiking through the forest where the "Fairy's" live, and it just so happens, they have "Fairy" beds in the cottage! When you are at the cottage, you feel as though you are in the middle of no where but yet, you are actually very close to everything you could possibly want. It is the perfect spot for anybody, whether you are single, a couple, or a family, it's sure to please and be a great experience for all. Pets are considered and I could not possibly think of a better place to go hiking with a dog. The four legged family members will be sure to have just as wonderful of a vacation as the two legged family members will. I believe this cottage is a rarety and true gem. I would rate it higher than any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in. It's a 10 star in my book! You can flip through page after page of cabin rentals on the site like I did, but you truly have to stop once you find this one since, you will not find better than Wadcheeaukee West! I feel very lucky to have found such a great spot and had the privilege to stay there and experience some wonderful and special times and memories that will last my lifetime. It will definitely be the first place I think of going the next time we are looking for a get away to go to. I highly, highly recommend this rental!!

We didn't want to leave!

Review Submitted: September 28, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Myself, my husband, our 3 year old and our family dog stayed this past weekend, Friday through Sunday. The cabin is every bit as clean, cozy and charming as it is in the pictures- we were all calm, comfortable and grinning as soon as we walked in. Our getaway was so relaxing- the land is very private and secluded but you are only a short drive from the highway and all nearby attractions are within reach easily. The view was amazing, the walk to the river was a lot of fun w/our son who saw each walk as a big adventure. The river view was wonderful as well- too chilly for us to take a dip, but our dog went in at least 4 times and was every bit as happy to be there as we were-able to explore the wide open spaces. We spent Saturday at Santas village but looked forward to getting back and having dinner and a campfire. When we saw the rainy forecast for Sunday, we thought it would make it a little easier to leave but no such luck- we all wanted to stay just a little longer- (we hope to rent again next fall and to extend our stay a week or so). Two thumbs way up for this little hidden gem- fond family memories were made!
Owner's Response: We thank you for your kind words! It is our pleasure to make your stay as wonderful as possible. We would love to share our cottage with you again and again. Stephani and Jeremy

Lovely 3 bedroom cottage, that is absolutely maticulous. We had a great dog friendly time, exploring the trails right on property that lead to the Pemi River. Nice getaway within minutes of conveniences and Waterville Valley.

Best Secret In The North Country...

Review Submitted: March 14, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
My family rented this cottage from Christmas '08 through the end of January '09. For the past few years, my wife and I have kicked around the idea of getting a seasonal rental for the winter. After an exhaustive search, we came across this cottage (Wadcheeaukee West - after a month of staying here, I still can't pronounce the name properly).
Few quick highlights - clean, comfortable & convenient (5 min from 93, 10 min from Loon, 25 min from Waterville, 35 from Bretton Woods. I had several friends up and all of them raved about how great the place was. Bedrooms are somewhat small but great for our 3 boys. The collection of old books scattered throughout kept me busy. The location of the house is nice - private, away from other homes on Rt 175 (small country backroad). Bentons Sugar Shack (noted in other reviews) is pretty cool. Hearty NH breakfast (located about 7 min south of the cottage). For those of you coming in from out of town, Common Man is a great restaurant located in Lincoln.

Bottom-line, this place is a great place for a getaway in the country. I can picture this being a great location for all seasons. Hiking trails behind the house bring you to the Pemi (house sits on a big chunk of land). I would think this would be a great summer place too.

One last note - these guys have a super property manager (believe his name is Jim?) First day, the driveway was iced over from recent storm. I called this guy (also one of the nicest guys in the world) took care of things within a few hours. Plow guy was also great too...good NH folk...

Great place.

Week in Thornton

Anna O Quincy, MA
Review Submitted: October 21, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We just returned from a much needed retreat. The house was spotless when we arrived and the setting was perfect. We took a lot of walks down to the river and our dog loved being able to go swimming. The fire pit out back was perfect for those cool October nights and the gas stove kept things nice and toasty inside. Everything was provided - all you need to bring is a change of clothes. Stop at the Super Walmart and you can pick up food and anything else you might need for the week.

When you're at the house, it feels like you are in the middle of no where - but there is much to do within a short driving distance. Horseback riding at Rocky Ridge Ranch is a must - we all had so much fun. Taking the Tram up Mt. Cannon and hiking around was a lot of fun too. The Art of Breakfast serves up some amazing food and the Brewery is a good place to go to see the band and have a few local brews. The Mount Washington Cog train was interesting, but I would do the drive next time (they only allow you 20 minutes at the summit and it goes by quick).

I would recommend this properties for anyone that is looking to get away and still have the option of doing some touristy things if they choose.

I hope to return to this property and experience the area during a different season - it truly was a treat.

Our Summer Vacation Rental!

Robo1234 Bridgewater, MA
Review Submitted: September 27, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We rented this property in July 2008 and it was everything we hoped it would be! The house was extremely clean and had all the things we needed. Our children loved the yard and being able to explore the surrounding woods. It was close enough to everything "touristy" that we wanted to experience, yet it had the feel of a country property. The house was very well maintained and we couldn't get over how clean everything was when we arrived. The games that were provided were a life saver during the 2 rainy afternoons we had. Our children loved the "loft" idea and thought it was great to be able to look down on the living room. During our stay we did all of the touristy things such as Clark's Trading Post, the Lost River, and the Flume Gorge. We hiked a lot and loved going into Lincoln for ice cream. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends. Nice Job!!!

Peaceful Serenity

Lexilou Central, Massachusetts
Review Submitted: September 23, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This is pure country living at its best. The location and space makes you feel relaxed the minute you walk into the home. We had a hard time leaving the property and our dogs were in heaven. We walked the trials, relaxed by a fire, played card and just enjoyed doing nothing. We also loved that we were so close to Loon Mountain Area. We headed in each night to have dinner. What a great home. Thanks for letting other people enjoy a peace of serenity.

Great retreat!

newly married Massachusetts
Review Submitted: August 18, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We found this cottage online when planning for our honeymoon. We had
been looking forward to the stay and we were not disappointed. It was
exactly what we hoped for: close enough to local attractions and
secluded enough to get away from the city.
We really enjoyed hiking down Canon Mountain, scenic drives,
Benton's Sugar Shack, Pizza from Elvios in Lincoln, Swimming in Lake
Winnepesaukee, and visiting the Basin.
Mostly we enjoyed being here together as a newly married couple
enjoying the beauty of Gods creation. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We hope to come back again with our family someday.
Owner's Response: We were so happy to find out that this couple had decided to Honeymoon at our cottage!! We encourage many more. If we were not already married, my husband and I would want to stay here for our honeymoon. Now, with three children, we are happy to be here with everyone, including our first child_the dog.

Perfect escape

Review Submitted: June 29, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My family and I just stayed at Wadcheehaukee West and were delighted. Upon arrival the cabin was spotless. Everything that we could have needed was provided. While the property was very remote and secluded, it only took us ten minutes to get to any of the surrounding towns. There was easy access to just about anything that we wanted to do. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking to get away from "the everyday."

cozy white mountains cottage

Wren providence Rhode Island
Review Submitted: June 7, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
This was a warm and cozy house with excellent mountain views and privacy. it was also near to wonderful hikes in the heart of the white mountains. It was 10-15 minutes in either direction to great restaurants, shopping or sights. It is a place you can either completely drop out and be in nature or jump in the car to nearby facilities. It was very clean, artistically decorated and a great home away from home.
