The Perfect Relaxing weekend!!

We stayed for three nights and from the minute we got there everything was perfect. The cabin is beautiful, everything we needed and somethings we didn't know we needed were supplied for us. The bed was so comfortable there were days I didn't want to get out of bed.

As to another guests concerns about firewood and water temperature, well this was a non issue for us. We were able to buy wood in town for the fireplace, then walk the woods to find the rest. this made for a very cozy time in front of the fire at night. The water temperature was perfect, got enough hot water for showers and dishes.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay here and get away from our busy lives for awhile and finally relaxe. We will absolutely be back soon!!

A Lovely Cabin

Submitted: September 10, 2012 Stayed: April 2012
My husband and I loved this cabin, a fireplace in every room [even the kitchen], a king-size comfy bed and a bathroom reminiscent of a NY Spa. This romantic cabin is in a lovely locale and it’s rustic enough to make a city girl happy without having to give up any degree of comfort. As I mentioned to the owner, Wanda, I’ve passed on the Wrightsville Cabin secret to my friends and colleagues, though my first inclination was to keep it a secret <smile>. While I would wholeheartedly recommend this cabin, I don't think it's good for families with very young children because of the stairs to the bedroom and loft, and too easy access to the fireplaces. But an absolute great get away from NYC.

Thanks again, we hope to visit your lovely cabin in the near future.

Beautiful Location, Very well furnished, Many supplies already there!

I would love to give this cabin five stars but a few problems did arise. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives however.
The photos and listing information was accurate and the owners/agent were helpful.
When we first drove up to the cabin we thought it was gorgeous. As it was a little late we were pleasantly surprised to find there were motion detector lights in the parking area and the entry door. As we entered the cabin immediately to the left above the fridge I noticed some cobwebs and a musty smell. As we looked around we noticed a few more cobwebs scattered around. Not really a big deal. We cleaned them up as we unpacked.
When we arrived it was very hot and humid outside. This probably accounted for the musty odor inside. The musty odor did go away or we just became used to it. There are two window type air conditioning units in the cabin. One in the main area and another in the bedroom. There was also a dehumidifier running the whole time we were there. The one air conditioning unit it the bedroom was a problem. As it was hot every day we were there the unit had to be left running all the time. It is 3 feet from one side of the bed. It was very loud. So much for peace and quite. But I wore earplugs and it didn't seem to bother my wife too much.
As I stated before the furnishings were fantastic and immaculate. the loft area where my son slept was really neat although the sofa beds are a bit saggy. A day bed or a twin bed in place of one of the sofas would be a good idea.
There were many supplies already in the cabin. Before you buy or bring a bunch of stuff go to the cabin and look around.
We never did visit any of the stores in the town but there are grocery stores around the area as well as some pizza joints and a bar or two.
There are parks to jog in and picnic in along the lake/river as well as places to rent boats. We did go fishing one time as it is only a 10 minute walk out to the river from the cabin. There is also a hiking trail across the road from the cabin.
There are other homes on the road this cabin is on. But the cabin itself is very private as it is off the road couple hundred yards or so.
We did not find the Amish country in the area to be as nice as the area in Ohio. And Lancaster is just another large city. Frankly, unless you are into boating or just looking to get away from it all in the summer, I would visit the cabin in the cooler months. I can definitely recommend Dienners Buffet in Ronks! Also Vinola's in Leola.

My husband and I just returned home from our stay at this Cabin. We had such a "magical" stay. As soon as you arrive all of your stress is forgotten! There is nothing that I would change. The cabin owners have made sure that any and every thing that you might need is there. The place was clean and cozy. The only thing that we missed while there were our three dogs! Next time we will see about taking them (they are all well behaved girls, who love to travel) The cabin is close to many things but far enough away that you feel as though you have escaped. I loved that they had wifi so that we could connect to the web via our laptop to explore sightseeing options! When vacationing we always hope for great weather, so while on our drive to the cabin we saw rain clouds, but never fear when the rain did come we sat comfortably in the rocking chairs in the screend in porch and listened to the soft rainfall, talk about being one with nature! To end I would HIGHLY recommend this place to familys, couples, pet owners! We are trying to plan our Thanksgiving Holiday at the cabin if they will have us back!

Perfect Little Romantic Retreat

5 of 5
Submitted: January 28, 2012 Stayed: January 2012
This upscale cabin was clean and well maintained. The photos supplied do a good job of representing it. One thing that is not clear, and you might want to know, is that even though the master bedroom is on the main level, there are a couple of steps from the living room to go up to the master bedroom and the bathroom.

The bed is really comfortable—and this is coming from someone who has a tempurpedic at home! There is also a gas fireplace (stove) in the bedroom. French doors open onto a deck.

The bathroom is gorgeous. We had no problems with hot water, there was plenty. The shower is big enough for two, and there is a place to sit down in the shower area. Towels, washcloths, floor mats are not included with the rental.

All in all, the cabin and its surroundings are every bit as picturesque as the photos supplied show. The creek really IS that close! Also, it is within walking distance to the Susquehanna River.

It may be due to the time of year that we stayed there, but, we did not notice a single car going down the road while we were there. I'm sure there had to have been, as we were there three days, but I never heard or saw one.

The best description is secluded and quiet, but with all the comforts of home. Everything worked, the dishwasher, the oven, etc. One tip is to not turn off the gas fireplace in the kitchen. We did the first night (they have a little placard posted on wall, but we didn't notice it until morning) We got the hang of getting it to relight, but really would be better just to let it stay on. There is a thermostat.

The fireplace in the living room is converted to gas, it is easy to turn on and off. Its is stone and if not "massive" its quite large. The photos just don't do it justice. If you arrive at night, like we did, and you're looking for more light, there are pull chains to the ceiling fan lights.

Keep in mind that this is located in Wrightsville, PA not Lancaster. We had no intentions of sightseeing, we arrived for our stay with groceries, previously prepared food, wine, beer, the whole shebang. As we did not come with the intention of dining out, and seeing historic Lancaster, I really can't give an opinion on these activities. If the goal is to have peace and quiet, walk in the woods, have the dog be allowed to come too, and to stay in a comfortable clean, nicely decorated cabin that has wi-fi and cable TV—this property is ideal

This is just what I needed. The cabin was quiet and comfortable. Everything was well stocked. I couldn't have imagined a more peaceful beautiful place.

We loved the trail across the road that led to a wide open field. It was a great place to hike and see the river. We will be back!

We had a l-o-n-g vacation. Silsbee, TX had 101 degree weather while we enjoyed 80 degrees here. We drove 1500 miles in 2 days to be here! I read our trip back. You need to eat at Shady maple in Blue Ball and Casa Dinoi (Pizza) in Wrightsville. Both are wonderful! Also I recommend going to the visitor’s center in Columbia (over the bridge), they were helpful. Tomorrow we will get up and head back to 100 degree weather.
