Photos and Description of the Point Pleasant vacation farmhouse rental
2/3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 7

Take a step back in time in your completely renovated Bucks County stone farmhouse located in the historic river village of Point Pleasant, Pennsylvania, 9 miles north of New Hope, and just steps away from the picturesque Delaware River. The house was built c. 1760 and has been fully and meticulously restored within the past five years to include all the modern amenities and luxuries while preserving its original elements. It is located on two serene spectacular park-like acres overlooking Geddes Run Creek yet it is a short walk to the village area. It is the perfect getaway for couples or a wonderful place for families to spend time together. Although it exceeds the best area bed and breakfasts in quality, decor and comfort, children are welcome here unlike the local inns. It is truly a special destination for the discriminating traveller.

Early summer in Bucks County

This is a beautiful home in a gorgeous setting-- a perfect getaway! The owners have balanced perfectly the charm of a historic farmhouse and the comfort of a modern entertaining space. The home has great attention to detail, and you'll really feel like it is your home away from home. Even better, the location is ideal-- you get a country retreat, but New Hope and Doylestown are just a short drive away.

My favorite part of the house is the kitchen-- if you like to cook, this house is for you! There is everything you need to whip up a gourmet meal, including a nice long dining table-- although with such perfect weather we ate most of our meals outside on the patio!

Also-- the jacuzzi soaking tub is heaven!

We had a truly lovely stay, and I would definitely return and recommend this home to anyone. The rental process was easy, and the owners were a pleasure to work with. This was a perfect "home base" for our stay in Bucks County, and far more enjoyable than a hotel or B&B.

We five girls and our mom had a wonderful time in this spacious, historic home. It is cozy and well-furnished with quality decor. Much more privacy than a hotel or B&B. Being out in the scenic countryside was relaxing and peaceful. We moms needed a getaway and this was exactly what the doctor ordered!

Girls Weekend

When my friends and I decided to go to Bucks County for our 2009 Girls Weekend we were planning on staying in a hotel or Bed and Breakfast. We then discovered the HomeAway website and subsequently this farmhouse. The photos and description intriqued us so we decided to risk it and reserve the house for our weekend. We were not disappointed. The house is as charming and quaint as it appears. It is decorated with pieces that reflect the period of the home, but also state of the art applicances and roomy and beautifully appointed bathrooms. The house sits on a beautiful piece of land with a local market within walking distance. The whole rental process was very smooth and all involved were wonderful to work with. I would recommend, however, to get detailed directions to the property. We used mapquest and had a Garmin, but still got lost. Jim (member of rental team) was wonderful in helping us find our way. We would highly recommend for a girls weekend or family gathering.

Early summer delight

Lovely home in a beautiful part of PA. A good park along the edge of a river just across the road from the house, terrific for nature lovers, hikers and trail runners. Our kids enjoy skipping stones in the river.

Local historic towns like New Hope offer good dining and activities. When the Delaware river is low enough there is tubing/kayaking available in the village of Pt. Pleasant. Local parks offer more hiking and trail running possibilities. Beautiful countryside!

The house worked well for my children ages 3 and 5 - space to do activities inside, a huge dining table was good for projects, a playroom with equipped toy chest. Outside in the garden, lots of space and swings and a slide.

Good grill to cook meals outside and lovely kitchen inside, all very well equipped. Gazebo outside next to a stream for delightful dining at home!

Only mild concern was the staircase in the old house, it's rather steep not good for young children or the elderly. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay.

A charming house, luxuriously appointed, in a dreamy location. Walk to the tow path along the Penn Canal, see the tributary to the Delaware River from the master bedroom, explore all the lovely spots in Bucks County. We'll return as soon as we can!

Charming Rental in Bucks County

This rental experience surpassed expectations. The home was beautifully decorated, fully equipped, and spotless, with accompanying grounds that made for the perfect place to relax outdoors in complete privacy (outdoor chairs, a creek-side gazebo, swingset for children). The property appeared to be newly remodeled without sacrificing the historic charm. The owner was very friendly, even providing recommendations for local restaurants, and the coordinating realty company efficient and professional. The house is located about a 10-15 minute drive from New Hope and Lambertville shops and restaurants, but the location provides a nice change when the town is crowded with tourists. Nearby walking trails are also a plus.
