Townhouse-Style Home - 3 Bedrooms + Loft - 3 Baths - (Sleeps 6)

This newly built home by renowned architect Dale Naegle is a delight for the senses inside and out. The location is perfect for those who enjoy leaving the car in the garage as everything is right out your front door where you will find La Jolla Shores beach and Kellogg Park, shops, restaurants, kayaking, swimming, surfing, biking and hiking!

Inside you will enjoy a delightful ambiance created with an abundance of windows, a multitude of balconies, bamboo hardwood flooring, soaring ceilings, gourmet kitchen/bar area with granite countertops, spa-like master suite, rooftop view deck and surround sound stereo throughout. If you must attend to business, the home is completely wired for high speed computer connection in many of the rooms. In fact, it makes an ideal property from which to work and play, by the week, month or season!

The heart of the home is a light-filled living room/dining/great room with french doors to a lovely patio on one end and the gourmet kitchen/bar area on the other making for a great place to relax, entertain, cook and visit. The great room features an enclosable television and VCR/CD/DVD player with surround sound, a gas log fireplace, dining table with comfortable upholstered chairs and black leather furniture and DWR bar stools. For those who like to cook-out there is a separate patio off the dining room with a gas grill.

The large master suite with king bed is a wonderful retreat unto itself featuring a fireplace, armoire with TV/DVD player, spa like master bath with jacuzzi tub, separate shower, large walk-in closet and patios off both the bedroom and bath.

Completing the main level of the home is a bedroom with two twin beds and a full bath. Upstairs you will find a sitting room with full-size leather couch/sofa sleeper, game table and armoire with TV, stocked with paperbacks and games, too! Here you will also find another bedroom with queen bed and another bathroom. There is an ocean view balcony off the sitting room and then for a really great escape and awesome 360 view there is a rooftop view deck (and yes, the surround sound speakers are there, too).

I am enjoying meeting wonderful people from around the world as they stay at my home. Even the VRBO Bear has stayed. Raised in Yuma I truly enjoy the accessibility of the La Jolla Shores Beach. I love getting my feet wet, the smell of the ocean, and walking at sunset.

Why Sheryl chose La Jolla

I summered in San Diego most of my life. This property was so unique with a business downstairs and two floors of open light filled living space. There is a separate sitting area off the third bedroom to use as an office.

What makes this house unique

The location of this property is wonderful. So close to La Jolla Shores Beach. The restaurants in the next block are truly amazing. Barbarella, Piati,Rustica Romantica and others. This is a shopkeeper with an office space available Oct 1, 2013.

Owner's Response: I strive to provide good quallity sheets, towels etc to help you enjoy your stay. There are boogie boards, and other vacation items already in the home. The location is excelent. close to great resturants and a beautiful family beach, with surfing, kayaking, snorkling, and swimming available in the area. Just relaxing at the beach and kellog park is also a treat.

Magical place where you will have everything you could possibly want and walk to park and beach

How do I begin.. we had never used a VRBO property before and were nervous about trying it. Celebrating an 8 year wedding anniversary and a first trip without children in 6 years. The owner met us and showed how everything worked including the elevator that whisks you up to your 2nd or 3rd floor!

The fact we had a private garage was a very nice addition!

A short trip to Trader Joe's to stock up on produce and essentials was all we needed to prep our home for the week. The owner had provided everything including beach chairs and ice chests. The walk to the beach from this location is less than 5 minutes, and you stroll past all the shops and restaurants to make it over to Kellogg Park or you can take a shortcut on a side street to walk over.

The bed was very comfortable and the closet was a nice walk-in closet that had plenty of room. The Jacuzzi style tub was very comfortable and the bathroom had doors that opened to it own balcony.

All of the appliances were very nice and the kitchen was perfectly appointed! Air-conditioning was available but it was not needed with the perfect La Jolla weather. Two FABULOUS restaurants are located less than a few hundred feet, and even a convenience store that has the simple things you may have forgotten.. like sunscreen etc.

Our only disappointment was that we did not bring our children! They would have loved the property and the beach, and the home has more than enough room for even a large family.

This property was not your "average" place, it was truly a magical home as close as you can get to experiencing what it would be like to live in La Jolla Shores area right next to the beach. We highly recommend the property, you will love the owner, the home and the location!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway

This is my the first year to rentout this home. I have tried to make the home truly a home. I enjoy the Watkins spices, soft towels, good quality sheets, colorful everyday dishes, mixer, coffee grinder, press pot, coffee pot, stereo throughout the house, and the large balcony above the street. There is a new gas grill on its own balcony. I love the way this home opens and has balconies off most rooms.
