BEAUTIFUL LOCATION FOR A WEEK IN D.C.

jb61 Atlanta, GA
Review Submitted: July 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
I love history so this 1903 home with the original wood floors was perfect. This home has been renovated so that it is modern but still kept its character. The patterned ceilings are amazing. The furniture is what you would find at home, not in a rental unit. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Our 2 twelve yr. olds slept on an air mattress in an office which was fine.

The 2nd floor has roof access (ladder provided) . All of us who were not afraid of heights (I'm the chicken) enjoyed an amazing view. We got some great pictures of the neighborhood and the Capital bldg. which is very close by.

The neighborhood is what I would call transitional. We felt safe but we would not have made the walk from the Metro after dark. We live and work in a big city so we weren't put off by it but it but it is a typical urban setting. We didn't have any problems and would stay there again.

We rented this location for a week vacation in July, 2009. We were thrilled with the location because it was close to all the attractions of the district and it was close to a Metro station (NY Ave). We got turned around a bit when driving and we were thankful we had a GPS (highly reccommended). We wandered by mistake into neighborhoods that we had no business being in even with a GPS.

There were 4 adults and 2 children traveling with us. My husband and I and our kids had no problem walking the 2 1/2 blocks or so to the nearest Metro Station (NY Avenue). My 78 year old mother-in-law, however, just couldn't do it. My husband would drop us off and pick us up at the station and do the walking.

The metro station is right next to a Marriott and the area is going through a big construction project so new restraurants are going up quickly. At the time of our visit there was a Au Bon Pain, Five Guys Burgers, a deli and I think a pizza place right outside the Metro.

The owner went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. The delivery of the keys and information packet was prompt. The property was spotless. The only problem we had was that the air conditioning went out while we were there. Within 30 min. of our phone call to the owner he had scheduled an a/c repairman for the next morning. In the meantime he had purchased a portable a/c for the master bedroom. It was hot for a couple days but We couldn't have asked for anyone to do more.

We would reccomend family or friends to stay here and we would return ourselves.
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your incredible review, your kind words are greatly appreciated.

Amazing Experience!

The !Qunicy brownstone was just amazing for my family vacation. Including the office space, for which there was a full size air mattress available, we had 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a gorgeous kitchen and a formal dining room, as well as the living room. It was convenient to the Metro, - we even oprdered and received a weekly pass in the mail before going, so that was very convenient and easy. We charm of the place was such a nice surprise, - the pictures do not do it justice. It was incredibly affordable and well worth every dollar we spent.

This was a wonderfully, comfortable and convenient vacation spot! The accommodations were first class and it was convenient to everything in DC. The home was perfect in every way and I was very pleased from start to go. The only thing nicer than the rental spot itself, was the manager and owner. They went out of their way to make everything come together and feel homey. I highly recommend this spot!

Pictures Don't Do it Justice

Review Submitted: March 23, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Several others have written reviews on this property, so I will try not to repeat what they have said. Honestly, we had high expectations of this place - and they were far exceeded. This is a beautiful - no, STUNNING - apartment, that was perfect for our family with 2 teenagers. The owner has gone to great lengths to assure those staying here have absolutely everything they need and then some - and then makes his own apartment available for anything else that might come up. The kitchen is fully stocked with every sort of dish, pot, pan and kitchen implement one can imagine, and even some things I didn't recognize. The appliances are top of the line, and there were even 2 bottles of wine in the fridge to welcome us, compliments of Terrence. Everywhere you look in this place, there is something else to surprise and delight you. Every positive thing others have written is true, and then some.

I only have one caution, and I even hesitate to say this... unless you are fully prepared to walk a long distance, this may not be a good place for you to stay. The metro is awesome and so easy, but it's a good 3/4 of a mile from the apartment, and you have a cross a couple of very busy streets to access it. We did this multiple times a day, but it's a good long way. Once you're at the metro, however, you're just one stop away from lots of shops and restaurants at Union Station, and all of DC is accessible. If you are there for any length of time, buy an unlimited metro pass. We bought one for the week, and saved hundreds of dollars on cab fare. Also, one day we decided to call a cab to go to the grocery store. They said they would call us when they had one coming for us. Even though we called back a couple of times to check on it, uh --- we're still waiting. We finally gave up and walked to the convenience store a couple of blocks away which is in somewhat of a questionable neighborhood. Hint - pack things like coffee and spaghetti in your suitcase and cook a couple of nights. We did that too, and it was fabulous after a long tired day of sightseeing.

All in all, you will never go wrong with this awesome apartment. It's one of the best places we've ever stayed anywhere in the world. Great job, Terrence!!!!

Fall in D.C.

We enjoyed our stay the unit was clean and comfortable. The kitchen could use a couple more pans for cooking, we enjoyed breakfast every morning. Be sure to buy metro pass it is by far the best way to get around and it's a short walk away, if you must use a taxi beware they don't always take the quickest path. I suggest that you map quest directions and keep the driver honest. "The Prime Rib" on K st was by far the best restuarant jacket and tie required (don't worry they have loaners) The area is in transition the people were very nice. If you don't eat in the city plan on cooking at present there are no restuarants near by however if you go to union station which is one stop away you'll find plenty to eat there and shopping as well. we'll be back to D.C. Thanks Terry

I can't even begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in D.C., and
having such a great place to call home for five days was a real blessing! The apartment was beautiful, comfortable, clean ... just perfect for 4 adults and a baby. It was everything we hoped it would be, and more. We found the neighborhood charming and thoroughly enjoyed our daily walks to and from the Metro station. If 25 Quincy Place is available the next time we are in Washington, I know exactly where we will be staying!

Great location for touring Washintgon DC

A Tourist in Milan Conroe, Texas, USA
Review Submitted: October 27, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
Very well outfitted apartment - there were four of us staying for two weeks - and we cooked most meals in - there is a new GIANT food store - one metro stop away up to Rhode Island stop from New York stop - nice modern food store located from the Home Depot that is visible from the Metro. The apartment is exactly as described and the pictures are also up to date - hooray for the grill and the great kitchen appliances. The apartment made being a tourist very enjoyable - great to come home to a fire and dinner. People in neighborhood said hello and often asked if we needed any directions. The payment process worked very well and it was great to get the keys ahead of when we left on our vacation that included time away before we were to arrived in Washington DC. We often rent apartments when we travel and would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property over the 4th of July week! The home was very nicely equipped and tastefully decorated. We were able to drop off our luggage and just park our vehicle at Union Station about a mile and a half away for $19 a day. The car was safe and we just took a cab back to the property. The rest of the time we just walked to the metro station to visit all the sights. We were a little unsure of the neighborhood on first view as we are not used to large cities but the neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were friendly. I would recommend bringing as many groceries as is feasible if you are cooking meals as we were unable to locate the closest grocer and did not want to stray too far on foot as we did not know the area well. All in all a great property and I would recommend it to anyone!

Very Nice!

Review Submitted: June 21, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
My wife and I and two kids stayed here in June, 2008. The property is very well maintained and very clean. It has been completely refurbished inside with all new appliances. We especially enjoyed the back deck and fire pit every evening...a great way to wind down. The property is close enough to Union Station and the Capitol building that we walked back and forth every day from our tour bus. When carrying luggage, we took a taxi and the cost was around $15. Wish there was a grocery closer but just a wish, not a complaint. Nice neighborhood. No TV in the living room but satellite TV in both bedrooms was fine for us. We recommend the place. Makes a great base for a vacation to DC!

Phenomenal DC property

Review Submitted: March 8, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
We had a wonderfully comfortable stay in this elegant DC townhouse. It was so nice being so close to the sights and yet having our "home away from home" where we could prepare our own meals and be together as a family in such a spacious, meticulously clean and well-stocked home.

We especially loved the fully-stocked kitchen, the ornate and beautiful living room fireplace, and the owners' clear appreciation for the rich history of the townhouse itself. It really does have a magical 1903 "feel" to it...but with all of the comforts of 2008!

The property owner and manager were exceptionally warm and friendly and really went out of their way to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. We are already hoping to come back again when the weather is warmer. Our two boys (ages 8 + 6) are already counting down the days!

This is a spectacular property -- not to be missed!
