This was my first trip to Red Castle Ranch on the recommendation of my wife who went previously with her two girlfriends. This trip was with my wife and two retired greyhounds. I was very impressed with the house, location and decor. We own a timeshare and have stayed at two other places in Sedona and now we both very much prefer this house. House is spotless, has comfortable beds, everything you need for cooking and even provides a Red Rock Pass. Location is superb for two reasons. First is that you are surrounded by Red Rocks as soon as you walk out the door. Great walks with our dogs in the neighborhood--everyone waved to us. Second reason is all the construction on the road to uptown Sedona. This house is located in a great area away from the construction and now has lots of great restaurants close by. Ate at Cucina Rustica and had a great meal (make reservations for weekends), Desert Flour good for pastries. coffee (try the bread pudding) and delicious lunches, good delivery pizza from Famous Pizza and unexpectedly great Thai food at Tara Thai. All are about 5 minutes away. Many great hikes are also close by and once again, you can bypass all the traffic. Sedona is a special place and the ambiance, decor and location of this house just made our trip even more special. Owner is wonderful with customer service and have already recommend house to friends. Can't wait to go back!

Easter Get-Away

Review Submitted: March 28, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2008
We had a wonderful time exploring the area! Your hiking guides and recommendations were very helpful and we especially loved "cow pies" and Bell Rock was a great favorite. We enjoyed the fire pit and bar-b-q and the garden lent itself to an Easter Egg hunt! Thank you! xxxx

More comfortable than a hotel!

Your place was perfect for our first annual get-away. We are 3 close childhood friendfs from California who traveled across country in 1976 and now we are doing it again, one week at a time! The hiking was fantastic! What a peaceful place and your house was so much more comfortable than a hotel. THANK YOU!

Fabulous Home Base for Arizona Vacation!!

Review Submitted: July 10, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We just returned from an eight day stay in Sedona. Bridget's home is exceptionally well-appointed, maintained, and equipped, and we were very comfortable there. Its layout is spacious and she has thought of so many details such as a cooler so we could pack along picnics for our daily excursions. The home's central location in a quiet and beautiful cul-de-sac from which major arteries, I-17 and Highway 179, are only a few blocks away, made it very convenient to travel to tourist destination such as the ruins at Palatki, the rock slide places at Slide Rock Park and Red Rock Crossing, a great swimming hole at Beaver Creek Campground, and of course the Grand Canyon which was spectacular. There are many wonderful hikes, the best being just a few blocks away at Bell Rock. We did these after supper when it was a bit cooler. Views of the rock formations are gorgeous from everywhere in Sedona and we miss them and the wonderful weather already.

Our 3 days in Sedona from May 18, '08

The house looks small from the outside, but it really isn't. It is nicely decorated and clean. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautifully tiled with interesting accessories throughout. There is a charming garden out the back, but we were too busy to use it.

There are so many places to visit. The art and craft shops were a lot of fun, but the mountains all around are absolutely awesome. We took the steam train from Williams, nr. Flagstaff to the Canyon. I wish we had stayed at the Railway Hotel there as the journey to and fro was very tiring.

We would have liked more light-blocking blinds/curtains in the bedrooms, but that is the only negative comment. It was a delight to deal with the owner, Bridget, who could not have been more helpful, sending us loads of suggestions on where to go and what to do. We were delighted with our stay.

Stay Away--They Unfairly Held Part of My Deposit

John25 Chicago, IL
Review Submitted: April 10, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
The house was just fine, but owner stiffed us on the return of our full security deposit. A toilet clogged the day before we left. First, the owner claimed the clog was our fault because of use of "excessive toilet paper." Then, when I pointed out that the contract made us responsible only for negligence and that putting toilet paper in a toilet is not negligent, the owner claimed we were responsible for emergency house cleaning fees because we didn't call the owner right away. Bottom line--think twice before making a security deposit with this owner.
Owner's Response: The Rental Agreement clearly states that guests should immediately contact owner/management with maintenance concerns or issues. In addition, all correspondence with guests includes the same request. Early notification of any issues ensures they can be addressed in a timely manner, which both eases the inconvenience for the current guest as well as guarantees the next guest arrives to a home that is 100% ready to be occupied. Promptly notifying the owner/management of maintenance issues will most likely result in a FULL refund of security deposit as well as an ADDITIONAL discount for the inconvenience caused to the guest. There have only been 3 issues that have ever arisen while guests have stayed at the house. 2 of the guests called me immediately and received full refund of security deposit as well as an additional discount. 1 guest, "Stiffed", did not notify me at all, rather the housekeeper informed me of the issue after his departure and during a small window before the next guests arrived. The only amount withheld from "Stiffed's" security deposit was the cost for the maintenance repair.

All guests are treated with the utmost respect and consideration -- before, during and after their stay. Most guests are mutually considerate, which leads to a pleasant rental experience for everyone.

Fantastic holiday location!

This is a great home for a family - large, spacious, all on one level. It was well maintained and totally clean when we arrived. The keys were left in a lock box at the door for late night arrivals - which was very convenient at midnight! We loved our stay. Not only is this a great house but a perfect location. Close to Sedona and lots of tourist activities. We enjoyed Pink Jeep's Broken Arrow tour, a guided tour of the Grand Canyon with Angel Tours, a balloon ride with Northern Lights Balloons as well as trips to Flagstaff observatory - fantastic views of Saturn from a telescope built over 100 years ago. Ancient ruins at Montezuma's Castle and Well are also well worth the short drive. Village Griddle had a hearty breakfast or lunch for hungry teen age boys and great service. Canyone Mesa golf club had very reasonable golfing and tennis for everyone. You'll love it!

What a perfectly marvelous home to stay in for our 4 day girls get-away weekend! This home is located in a lovely, upscale, quiet neighborhood, and is right around the corner from all of the mountians to hike, resturants, museums and shops. It is exceptionally clean, well maintained, and with every amenitiy you need. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and so beautifully decorated. The owner provided fantastic, personal, prompt and very pleasant service for all of our needs from start to finish. We would definitely rent this home again and would highly recommend it to our friends and other travelers. Thank you Bridget. Our girls get-away vacation, in your house, was wonderful. Sincerely, Patti

House was perfect for three women getaway--we each had our own bedroom which was hard to find in Sedona. House is in Oak Creek which is 5-10 minutes from Sedona. Absolutely perfect location on a quiet street and a short walk from Bell Rock. House beautifully decorated, very comfortable and spotless. Kitchen has everything you need and owner even provides a Red Rock Pass for parking at hikes. Beds are very comfortable and bathroom towels are plentiful. I have stayed in both Sedona and Oak Creek and prefer Oak Creek as it is quieter and has less traffic. Had a small problem while at the house and owner was quick to help solve the problem--very good customer service. I would not hesitate to stay at this lovely home again and will recommend it to my friends. Ate at the Cowboy Club--cactus fries are awsome. Went on the Pink Jeep tour to Indian Ruins--very informative and learned a lot about Sedona history. Great lunch in the sun at Secret Garden in Tlaquepaque. Hiked the incredible Boyton Canyon and amazing Cathedral Rock. Can't wait to go back and stay at Red Castle Ranch.
