We were glad wwe got to meet you while in Denver for our annual "Brother's Week". The house suited us just great. We saw a lot of Denver and the surrounding area while in town. Rafting, Rockies, Air Force Academy, Coors, Capital, Railroad Museum, just to name a few. Of course we took in a few of your local beer drinking establishments downtown as well. It was nice to have the bus line so close for those evening adventures to the downtown area. You were right about the businesses in the neighborhood. We frequented Shells & Sauce, the Greek restaurant & 12th St. Market, and they were all great. The brothers had a great time in Denver. Many of us commented; "I could live here". Next year...Seattle!!

This house was perfect for my family of 5, parents and grandmother. We rented the house while we were in town for my sister's wedding. The location was perfect for visiting many of Denver's great attractions- Coors Field, the Zoo, mountains, etc. Every morning my dad and my son's would walk to the corner coffee shop for a "kid temperature" hot chocolate. They would sit on the porch with their drinks and talk to the neighbors passing by. There was space for everyone to spread out, and the backyard was perfect for sitting and relaxing or playing catch.

Linda the owner was great! She was very accommodating and even offered to help carry in our bags when we got there!

We have rented several vacation rentals all over the US, and this was one of the best we have stayed in.

We will be back for sure

My husband & I are a retired couple from Australia. We were in Denver from 14-30 Nov 2010 to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday, meet the 2 grand-babies, and enjoy Thanksgiving with various relatives from around the USA flying in for a family gathering. We had enough room in Linda's large and delightful house for 3 adult couples and my 87 year old mother. (For two unexpected guests, we were able to get a room in a B&B close by-- our location was very central to all Denver amenities). We managed to cook & serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 12 in the kitchen & dining area-- there are a multitude of supermarkets and liquor stores nearby. We also used the BBQ grill on the back deck for slabs of ribs one night. The house has a great central heating system which kept everyone toasty warm, lots of windows for light, warm inviting modern decor with lively colours and bright, tasteful artwork. Linda spared no expense with the very best soft furnishings, bed linens & towels in abundance. The kitchen was well-furnished for cooking and there were many basics on hand. She even provided shampoo & toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent & garbage bags. Given the freezing cold weather and snow, we were extremely grateful for the garage, large enough for an SUV, with an automatic door and sensor lights. Never had to park on the street or clean snow off the rental car! Downstairs there were plenty of toys and games for kids of all ages. My grandson zeroed in on a fire engine and Fisher-Price toys which kept him amused every time they visited. I use a walker, and Linda did say that she was worried that I might not be able to manage the front & back steps. But that was not a problem as the back deck was not too high off the ground and it was a flat walkway to the garage. I would make a tiny suggestion that if a railing were installed for the basement stairs, this would assist elderly guests & those with limited mobility to use the marvelous downstairs shower. A previous reviewer mentioned that if there was anything the house didn't have, Linda would get it for you. Remarkably resourceful and a great (but unobtrusive) communicator, Linda lived up to the praise. She greeted us on arrival, let us know she was only a phone call away and if something was required, she made every effort to ensure we had it within a day or so. We can truly say that we enjoyed every minute of our stay and would not hesitate to rent the house again. Thank you Linda!

We were in Denver for the Broncos game. We had stayed previously in another one of Linda's houses and had the same experience. Top notch! The place is very clean, and fully stocked. Restaurants and a corner store are seconds away. The neighborhood is very safe with a great atmosphere.

Look forward to staying here again next year!

My parents, children (3 year old son and 8 month old daughter), and I recently stayed at Velma's Cottage while visiting my sister. As we drove away on our last day my dad said "That couldn't have worked out better" and that pretty much sums up our stay at the house.

It didn't feel like a rental at all; Really nicely decorated - inviting and warm, a beautiful backyard for enjoying all that Denver sun, all the necessary child accessories, i.e. books, games, a high chair, pack 'n' play, etc., plenty of kitchen gadgets for making meals at home.

Linda, the owner, was great to work with. Very accommodating.

The neighborhood is fantastic. There are restaurants and coffee shops a block away and the beautiful botanic garden is around the corner.

We will definitely be back on our next trip to Denver and I am sold that home rentals are the only way to go for vacation.

Coming to Denver was made even more enjoyable, by staying in Velmas guest house cottage. The owner accomodated us with everything we needed and more. Staying at the cottage was like our home away from home.
My family stayed at the cottage for a whole week. The house was in a perfict location, where we could walk to restarurants, the park, and enjoy homemade ice cream from one of the ice cream shops just a couple of blocks away. If we ever go back to Denver, we want to stay in this exact house again! It was great, Thanks again for letting us stay at your cottage.

We stayed in Denver this summer for a month. Two of our children were involved in a reading program in Denver which was not offered in our hometown in Texas. We chose Velma's because we felt that it would offer us a "home away from home" feel. Velma's Cottage offered us a great location, comfort, and a feeling of home that we could not have imagined in any other location! In fact, as "trying" as the reading program was, my children were very upset to leave the Cottage, as they loved it and it offered solace and comfort in the evenings.

I cannot say enough good things about Linda, the owner. Not only was she very responsive, but she offered lodging so comfortable that our children were bemoaning the fact that we had to leave!

The cottage was wonderful! The location was great. It is a wonderful, safe neighborhood which borders Congress Park, and is a short walk to Cherry Creek and all it's amenities. Right around the corner, there is a wonderful restaurant, mail services, a very cool coffee shop and a small grocery store.

All in all, we would stay again in a heartbeat and will probably do so next summer.
