Awesome Gem Close to it All!

My husband, two year old and I rented this apartment for 5 days in early May. We were visiting Austin/San Antonio for the first time. This home was incredibly convenient to everything we wanted to do and we really enjoyed staying here versus a hotel. My daughter really enjoyed the play scape and it gave her something to do with Papa while Mama was getting ready to leave. The property owner is friendly and welcoming, yet no one invades your privacy. The property was beautifully refurbished and well maintained. My husband and I loved Lake Travis, the restaurants, small towns nearby, the bats, and the shops on South Congress. We were also within an hour of San Antonio so we were able to visit the river walk, the Alamo and the other Spanish Missions. Overall a wonderful short vacation and would highly recommend the apartment to others.

Great value in Austin

We enjoyed our stay at the Sunday House in Austin. Wonderful location within a few minutes of South Congress (SoCo) and the area's many shops and restaurants. The apartment provided an easy base for sightseeing within Austin -- via car or the city's Dillo and bus service -- and to the Texas Hill Country and San Antonio via car. The parking provided for the apartment was convenient and safe. The apartment was spacious for two people and had great AC! We can attest to the effectiveness of the AC as it was over 100 degrees every day during our one-week stay...and the AC always kept the apartment cool. The secure wireless internet (wifi) connection provided by the owner was a great benefit too as we had our laptop along and had no problem connecting. All in all, a great value and a wonderful place to stay while visiting Austin.

My husband and I had a great time at The Sunday House. It was great to come back to and relax after walking around Austin all day. It was very close to everything on South Congress and the neighborhood was so lovely. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. It felt like we were staying in a vacation home instead of a hotel, and we loved the trees and gardens, as well as the great reading material in the apartment.

My husband and I visited Austin in late March to attend my nephew's Culinary School graduation. We wanted to be closer to the downtown action than where my sister lives (in a north suburb). Finding The Sunday House via the web was perfect. The owner Jimi was great to work with--both before and during our stay.

What a lovely property in a great location! The neighborhood was quiet, quaint, and showcased the best of Austin. Being only a few blocks from South Congress was perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed shopping the quirky stores, eating Amy's ice cream, and rockin' out at the Continental Club!

The Sunday House was appointed with every amenity one could need. It was clean and comfortable, with kitchen supplies, plenty of towels, a hair dryer and even a good iron. We particularly enjoyed the many books and magazines on Austin attractions. It was fun to peruse these before setting out on a day of sight-seeing.

Thanx Jimi! We'll be back!

We stayed four nights in "The Sunday House" at the beginning of March. It was a wonderful experience; fantastic location, (birds singing in the morning, walking distance to SoCo), clean, quiet and comfortable in an amazing neighbourhood. We walked to the Continental Club, the newly re-opened Gallery (an intimate bar with great music and neon art), several restaurants and outdoor venues. Driving to 6th Street was not a problem, found it quite easy to get around. Downtown we visited a few nightspots and art galleries. We also visited to Capital Buildings on "Art Day"; several performers to watch in the rotunda. Unfortunately, we were a few days too early to see the "bats"; perhaps next time. We highly recommend "The Sunday House" as "the" location when visiting Austin.

Excellent location with public transportation within
easy walking distance. Quiet and secure, beautifully landscaped
setting , clean and attractive apartment. Nice landlord.
My grandson came over to visit and loved the
children's play area.
Owner's Response: Thank you! We love having kids over to play on the playscape!
