Lovely, comfortable, updated, lakefront home located in a peaceful private lake community in the heart of the Catskill mountains. Two hours north of NYC.. A 2 min. drive to river front restaurants, grocery, farmer's market and ice cream shops. Two decks and a stone patio with comfortable seating overlooking the lake. Sleepy Hollow Lake - Great Weekend Getaway

The weekend of October 20, 2012, the majority of the members of Men’s Music Group took a trip to stay in a cabin on the lake. This cabin was perfect for our group. It was a beautiful, rustic home which had plenty of beds. There was also quite a bit of privacy. We took advantage of the canoes and kayaks. Every member of our group was able to enjoy the fun of going out on the lake. Even though it was late fall, the water was warm enough that we were able to go out in the water and enjoy that. This was a generally inexpensive weekend as we had access to everything we needed to pull off our retreat. It is close enough to shops and everything you could need, yet far enough away that there is very little traffic and commotion. The house that we rented provided all of the amenities needed for a great stay, and even better memories.

Great House for a Weekend Away

This house was exactly as described and all of the rooms and patio and view from the patio were as depicted in the pictures. We went up there with a group of 8 and very much enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean with all of the basic ammenities accounted for. There were enough kayaks and canoes for the whole group to go out on the lake, which has some beautiful scenic veiws.
The free wi-fi was an added bonus as was the tv/game console downstairs. The house was cool even mid-day. The upstairs deck and livingroom was very roomy and enjoyable. I do wish there was a tv upstairs also to enjoy and we did have trouble locating where to put the garbage so just ended up taking in with us.
I would recommend this stay to another group.

Good but for the details

The location was excellent and we loved the lake and the canoes. The house worked well for us even though we had a large group. We would recommend some improvement in the details - the place needs new sheets and towels; the furniture is a little beat up and could use some repairs; and the kitchen could use a more thorough clean (it was fine to look at, but most of the dishes etc had a greasy film on them). With a few touchups the place is a real winner.

this house is just right

both of our families had a great time. the house was clean,the kids could not stop talking about the lake, but most of all the backyard was the spot we stayed the most. we had a fire going as our kids danced to the music. we will be back next year..

Great view of the Lake!

My brother was turning 40 and he wanted to spend it skiing with a few friends as we always love going away together. I was looking for a weekend home that would comfortably fit 10 people, was near Windham mountain, but would also be pleasant enough for those of us not skiing. We all loved the house, it exceeded our expectations and the beautiful view of the lake was a bonus. We will be coming here again for sure in the future.

Beautiful Home- We had a great time!

Our group had a great time at this home last month. The house was beautiful and very clean! We had everything we needed. There were 8 adults and one child in our group and we had plenty of room. The location is great, right on the lake with a relaxing fire pit in the back. Aldo was a pleasure to work with, hes very efficient with his responses and he was easy to get in touch with to answer some questions during our stay. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. We would love to come back in the summertime!

Skiing weekend

I love the house! I visited with a group of 6 adults 4 children. We fit perfectly. The house was very specious and clean. The kids took over the basement and the adults stayed on the main floor, this was perfect for us because we had our adult time. Aldo, was the best. He help all the way and made the process very easy for everyone. He also give us a lot of good information about the area. The only thing we found not to our like was the water for the bathroom. It was running very low to take a bath and at the end of our stay the water pressure was getting slower so it was very uncomfortable to take a bath. Other than that everything was perfect. I hope to come back during the summer since the lake area was beautiful.

Owner's Response: The water source of the houses on the lake comes from the lake itself. Unfortunately this time of the year the water is pumped from the bottom of the lake and is full of small particles that clogged the water pipes. We just finish updating the house with a new water filter and new faucets to prevent future water pressure problems.

This house was absolutely perfect for my family. Everyone had an ideal bedroom setup and the kids loved all the for-kids stuff (foosball, etc). The fireplaces and fire pit outside were a huge plus and everything was just as Aldo described. Can't wait to stay here again!

Great House on a Relaxing Lake for a Group!

A group of 10 friends and our dogs went up for a fall weekend...the house was spacious enough that we all slept comfortably and didn't feel like we were on top of each other during the daytime. There are two main living areas and a kitchen that's easy to use and open to the main room so you can be social while cooking. There's a great outdoor patio with a firepit (we didn't get to use it because it snowed) and a nice upstairs deck with a grill. It's right on the lake with kayaks and a canoe that are very easy to access.
This house is exactly as described, which is always a relief when renting. It was very clean when we arrived. It's in fairly secluded area, with just one house next door (no one was home while we rented, which was nice). This is a perfect rental for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway -- I would recommend it for groups, large families, and anyone wanting to escape the craziness of the city (like us).
The owner is great - we called/texted a few times during our stay with questions and he always responded promptly and was most helpful.

Beautiful House, Beautiful View

We stayed at this house in late August and had a great time. The house was as described, very clean and well maintained. The first thing we noticed was the beautiful view of the the lake. We were 11 people total, 6 adults, 3 kids and 2 babies. The adults slept upstairs with the babies in porta-cribs that we brought and the 3 kids slept downstairs. They loved that they had their own space. They called it their "apartment." I would say the adults loved that too. They didn't complain about it being hot as they did have a fan and it was late august. We really loved the kayaks and canoes and firepit. We used the gas grill very often and ate on the deck, which overlooks the lake. The kids loved the beach and pool. The area seemed nice although we didn't venture out too much because we have twin babies and a dog. That was ok, as were content staying on the property and using the pool and beach. We did go to a petting zoo one day and the movies on a day it rained. Aldo, the owner was friendly and helpful and available to answer questions during the stay. I would certaily recommend this property to anyone and we look forward to returning next year.
