Linda, The botanical gardens of Nevis rival yours at Black Sand Cove, not vice versa. The flowers, hummingbirds, palms, full moon, stars, peace and quiet combined to provide a wonderfully regenerative experience. It inspired my song in the guestbook at the cottage, "Frangipani in the Moonlight", which has been well recieved by a number of audiences. It was good to be back on Nevis and there is no place we would rather stay. It was an even better place to be while Mexico, NY was being buried under 88 inches of snow this past February. Hope to be back soon.

The cottage at Black Sand Cove is a little piece of heaven on Earth. Perfectly situated to be private, secluded, peaceful, but close enough to everything you might want to see and do on the island. The gardens are magnificent and Adolfo's smiling face and vast wisdom are delightful bonuses! The secluded beach is beautiful and the back porch is the best place to be!!

We found the cottage to be perfectly equipped with everything we needed and more and the Guide Book was our most valuable resource (next to Adolfo!!). Linda's rental car was a lucky find, too, and we enjoyed exploring the island on our own.

Paradise for "ahneemoonahs" like us.

Hi Linda,
I wanted to take a quick minute to tell you how pleased I am with Black Sand Cottage. It is absolutely perfect for one person or a couple. It takes about 15 minutes of sitting on the porch and listening to the sounds of nature inorder to completely "decompress from the "real world stresses". I mentioned to Adolfo that of all the places that I have traveled to (including Hawaii, Bermuda, Europe) Black Sand ranks as one of, if not the most beautiful. The grounds with all the flowering plants are exquisite and no picture does it justice. Plus, there is the added bonus of having ( an on-site concierge) Adolfo, who is so caring and concerned that I have a pleasant stay. He is a true gem!
You have not left out one detail (I find it amazing that you would even include your store bonus # from Rams....wow).
I can't thank you enough for this experience....and I still have a week left here....absolutely fantastic.
Next year, I hope to rent both houses and bring my daughters and their spouses.
Thanks again,
GRG

I recently had the pleasure of calling the Cottage at Black Sand Cove my "home away from home" Oct. 28 - Nov. 4. As others have stated, what is pictured on the website is a true representation of what you will discover upon your arrival. The accomodations are superb, Adolfo is great, and worth every cent. You will not regret booking your stay here while in beautiful Nevis. Kudos to Tim and Linda Burkett for providing such wonderful accomodations and to Adolfo for working tirelessly to maintaining the beauty of Black Sand Cove!

Seeing is believing...the Cottage at Black Sand Cove is exactly as described and more. As well as the garden, cottage and beach, I was thoroughly impressed with the extremely well-furnished kitchen with modern appliances and the spacious brightness of the room. Our day began gazing at Mt. Nevis and the back gardens while basking in rising sun and ended watching the sea absorbing the setting sun. Read the reviews, they are written honestly and I concur. Peace, solitude, beauty, nature. Although it is located a short distance off a paved road, you must travel on an unpaved road to get to the property and a vehicle [preferable 4-wheel drive] is needed. The property reflects thoughtful design, attention to details and consistent maintenance. Owners are dedicated and conscientious and have lovingly created [and thankful they share] a beautiful oasis.

Linda and Tim Burkett?s Black Sand Cove
property is a vacation gem. If your idea of a
perfect vacation is being secluded on a
beautiful property, with a lot of quiet and few
people, this is the place for you. If your idea of
a perfect vacation is paying for a place that
provides you with the newspaper every
morning, cable TV, AC, and a constant scurry
of activities for you to choose from, then this
is not the place for you.

I really hesitate to write this recommendation
because this place is so special and I want it
all to myself! The most amazing thing about
Black Sand Cove is that the website absolutely
and accurately reflects the property. Nothing
was an unpleasant surprise to me when I
arrived. Of course the website cannot give
you the feeling of the warm Caribbean breeze,
the sound of the waves crashing on the private
beach and the night crickets. Only three or
four cars passed by the property a day. It is
truly secluded. The gardens are magnificent.
Adolfo, the property manager, is the nicest
man you?ll ever meet. The accommodations
are wonderful: clean, spacious, inviting and
efficient.

If you have to wait 6 months to get a date on
the calendar, do it. Now. Don?t hesitate.
You?ll love it. But remember: this is a special
spot for people who like it quiet. Unplug,
read, cook, walk, swim, sleep, bliss out?

It was the perfect getaway. While at BSC, saw more hummingbirds than cars. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by colorful foliage, Mount Nevis, and the Caribbean Sea was incredible. The full moon was beautiful, and having coffee in the morning on the cottage porch overlooking the sea was a joy. Linda and Adolfo have something very special in BSC, which also could be named, "Garden of Eden, Nevis Branch." Look forward to coming back.

Our vacation was fantastic. There are so many wonderful things to be said for Nevis and the fantastic cottage we stayed in at Black Sand Cove.

Just like those who have written comments before me, we all just love Adolfo, he provides whatever help or information is needed. And he was kind enough that he brought us fresh watermelon and papaya in the morning. Which leads me to the gardens where the fruit was picked each morning. As you can see in the website the gardens are indeed stunning. However, just wait until you are there actually walking around and enjoying them first hand, they are incredible. You will see hummingbirds and buterflies everywhere!

I should mention also the bed is soooo comfortable. I slept so well there each night. I am sure the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, and maybe just a bit of Sunshine's Killer Bees helped also.

We loved our stay at the cottage, we loved beautiful Nevis and we especially enjoyed the friendly people there as well. We will return as soon as we can.

Linda, Adolfo, thank you for offering such a beautiful retreat. It is tended to and cared for so well, it really made our vacation fantastic

The one-room cottage at Black Sand Cove was a perfect getaway for a small family. We ate most of our meals on the porch, looking out over the beautiful garden and watching the hummingbirds and butterflies by day, fireflies at night (in the middle of winter!), and ships out at sea. Our best days were spent without ever getting into a car – either at the beach, hiking south along the coast, or just enjoying the property with almost no one else around. But other beaches, trails, and places to visit are not far away by car either. The web site and the comments in the guest book describe the cottage pretty well – it was exactly what we were looking for.

More than lived up to our expectations! The setting of the property, the gardens, the location and the genuine concern for our satisfaction was excellent. A perfect and peaceful home base for exploring this wonderful island. Thanks again to Linda and Adolfo.
