Great Property: Private, Peaceful & Priced Right

Review Submitted: August 31, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Great view from the sitting room and deck. The photos don't do it justice. When you first walk in you will know you made the right choice!. We had four in our group and used the three sleeping areas. My wife and I, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. You might be thinking that surely someone would have had a complaint after 7 days about the accommodations. Surprise.... Not a one !!! We all agreed, great beds, comfortable surroundings & very clean. The property is well maintained and still feels fresh and new. The owners had recently placed potted trees and flowers on the deck and around the property. If you need a place to stay near the parkway or are looking to get away you should consider staying here ! Our group is already talking about going back this fall just hanging out at the house and taking in the fall colors.

Cheers...

N.B. Our security deposit was returned just a few days after our stay, in full and without a hitch along with a nice note of thanks.
Owner's Response: Thanks Gary, Nancy and Darlena .. it was wonderful to have you guys! Come back anytime.

Felt like home

Not Available Florida
Review Submitted: June 16, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. I really loved the sofa, comfy!!! Well, so was the Master bed now that I think about it. I enjoyed the hominess of it all. The dining room table served us well for breakfast, senic views and Scrabble. The sub-division was very nice and the views were beautiful. Would return to this one. And the location was great for visiting Lake Lure, Chimney Rock. Great Mexican resturant in Forest City (by movie theater) Ashville.
Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review Linda. We're so glad you like the cabin. It's nice to hear it when guests like you tell us that you'd very much like to come back soon. It was our pleasure to have you as our guests.

Our Christmas Stay at the Cabin

Liza Evette Atlanta, GA
Review Submitted: December 26, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2008
Our stay at the cabin truly was a home away from home experience. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, the views were beautiful driving into town, and after a long day out visiting the Biltmore House with my children, we came home to the freshest smelling linen and very comfortable beds. From a mother's perspective, I couldn't have asked for more.

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin, and for all the information you left on nearby attractions and grocers. We would love to come back during the summer. I bet the views are even more beautiful.

Sincerely,

Lisa
Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Do come back again and try the warmer seasons, where there's a lot of outdoor activities.

Wonderful Honeymoon Spot!

Megan and Hank Jacksonville, Florida
Review Submitted: September 12, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
My husband went up and stayed a week for our honeymoon, it could not have been more wonderful.

It was quiet and peaceful, there are no cabins within sight of this one.

Also, within an hours drive to Biltmore, Ashville, the Linville Caverns, and the Grove Park Inn - All of which are wonderful.

Lots of light in the cabin, and a terriffic view!
Owner's Response: It's good to know that our cabin is the perfect honeymoon spot for couples. Yes, we're not near other neighboring log cabins and have a good deal of privacy. Glad you like our scenic and panoramic mountain views. Come back soon.

Marvelous find!

Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay at this cabin. The views are stunning, the cabin is private, comfortable, and very well equipped. The two first floor rooms were perfect for our family and the loft is spectacular for watching the sun rise over the mountains in the morning. The whole family enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the rocking chairs in the late afternoon and BBQ dinners around the picnic table. In Bostic, we picked up amazing country sausage at Sammy's for our lazy morning breakfast. The cabin is within easy driving distance of Rockhouse Winery, Lake Lure, and Asheville, among many other great places. We can't wait to come back!
Owner's Response: Thanks and come back soon.

True Mountain Setting

Bill and Rita Southport, NC
Review Submitted: July 18, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
The Lone Star provides an ideal base to return to after spending the days exploring the eastern North Carolina Mountains. It is a comfortable drive from several well known attractions including Biltmore House, Chimney Rock and Grandfather Mountain. The surrounding area provides a choice of several uncrowded hiking trails. Our favorites were in South Mountain State Park and at Linville Falls. At the end of the day the cabin served as a quiet, cozy and well kept haven to relax from the days activities. The view from the back deck is strictly mountains and trees that provide for wonderful sunrises and sunsets. The Lone Star and its owners served our party well and we highly recommend it to future visitors.
Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed it immensely. I'm sure future renters will enjoy the same that this cabin offers in terms of quality time and strategic location to many attractions.

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of your cabin! Your cabin was very relaxing after a day of touring the mountains. The cabin was clean, tastefully decorated, and well maintained. Just what we needed for our getaway!

Thanks, Faye and Jerry
Owner's Response: Our log cabin is very relaxing, comfortable, and tranquil. It is in a very secluded location with awesome panoramic views of the mountain and is a hidden gem in the Blueridge mountains. You should come and visit often.
