This place was AMAZING!!!! We absolutely LOVED this house--we will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family. Great location--up the hill behind Ted's Bakery, just across the street from Sunset Point, and within walking distance to Sunset Beach and V-land. Biking on the path down to Waimea for a swim (with a quick stop at Shark's Cove Grill for a snack) was a common theme during our stay!
Perfect location--not too far from Haleiwa, but not too close, either! We had friends staying at Turtle Bay Resort and they were super jealous of our place!!
I especially enjoyed the yard--I spent an entire morning looking at all the trees/flowers/plants/etc.!! Mountain views all around and the Pacific Ocean in front of us! We spent a LOT of time on the HUGE lanai--lots of chairs/loungers. There was a big grill (which we didn't use, but wished we had!) and the house had very comfortable furniture inside. No A/C, but the trades kept the house very cool (we visited in May)--so cool that we had to close our bedroom window at night! It was great.
The only thing that we DIDN'T find pleasant about the trip was the walk to Ted's--the walk itself was fine, but at the bottom of the hill there was a house with a BIG nasty dog that the owners let wander free. I found this out one morning while going for a run--fortunately, the owner was outside and managed to pull the dog away from me--it never bit me, but ran full speed at me and barked and grunted at me for a full 30 seconds before the owner yanked it away! Yikes!!! We ended up DRIVING to Ted's after that!!! This is the ONLY reason why I would not recommend this house to people with children.
(The dog also deterred us from biking past the house--fortunately, there is a road directly behind the house that you can access from the side yard--just go down the hill and it will hit the Kam hwy.)
Overall, we absolutely loved this place and can't wait to return!!!
