This area is so 'laid back' with plenty to do. It is far enough from the direct hit of hurricanes yet the weather is warmer and having large expanses of fresh water. Thats why they call it Lake County I guess.
Eclectic city of Mt Dora has tons of shops and restaurants to explore. Local nature preserves and parks abound and the city of Tavares 2 miles East has just gone through a major upgrade with a new Marina and several nice restaurants, most with outdoor patios.
