Great Stay

My group of 14 friends and I (a few couples and some single guys and gals in our mid 20's to mid 30's) recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend at the Fairbrother Lodge, and it was everything we had hoped for. The house itself is huge, and is perfect for a large group of people who want to hang out, eat, or play games together but also have their own space when they need it. We often congregated at the big dining room table or in the fireplace room in front of a roaring fire.
The rooms are all very nice, the beds are quite comfortable, and the showers are strong and hot (good pressure and hot water make all the difference in the world). The appliances, TV/stereo, and hot tub are all top notch. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to see the town of Lake Placid/Olympic Center (you can easily walk there) or hit the slopes of Whiteface (don't let Google Maps fool you, it's really only 10 or 15 minutes away). There's plenty of parking, and the owners are available and very helpful when necessary (we ran out of propane for the grill during the weekend…we were crazy enough to cook out on a night when it was about 3 degrees out, and they came right out and took care of us).
We plan to make this a yearly trip, and we would highly recommend the Fairbrother Lodge to anyone.
