Family is important to us. We both grew up in large extended families and we know how precious that time together can be. Our grown children and their spouses return home to 'the Lake' from Indiana and Asia to enjoy the water, views, food, card games and time together. We think the time we spent as a family here when they were young created those memories and bonds that continue to draw them here again and again.
Michael vacationed on this lake as a child and our two kids and many of their cousins learned to ski on this clean and open lake. Stopping in the middle of the lake to cool off is no problem - unless you are near the marina you will probably see few other boats! Besides the gorgeous setting, this property was perfect for the type of resort we planned - a big Lodge for famiies to gather and several cottages for sleeping and getting away from the crowd. There are many hand-made touches touches throughout the resort that reflect our love of things things done more slowly, with love and by hand: hand-planed cherry paneling, vintage doors and furniture restored,
With 72 acres and fabulous views of the lake and hillsides, guests feel as if they are in their own wilderness getaway on this pristine Lake. But, we (your vacation Innkeepers) are nearby to help you when needed. Now starting our 11th season, we have learned how to be both attentive to our guests as we also give you the privacy you deserve. We can clip some organic basil from our gardens for your pasta or serve fresh-from-the-oven bread or hand churned ice cream for one of your dinners. Like to cook? Lulu shares recipes and gives complementary cooking lessons in our cottage kitchen. We make sure you have plenty of fresh flowers & clean towels and are here to answer your questions personalize your getaway

Unlike Any Other Rental!
Perfect summer vacation with the grandsons and family
When I read the description and looked at the pictures on VRBO, I thought "wow, this looks like a nice place." When we arrived, I thought, "Holy Cow! The description and pictures do not do it justice." The sleeping quarters were warm, inviting, spacious and accommodating. The Lodge, however, was absolutely spectacular! It is beautiful, ornate, and spacious with games, books, a pool table, fire place...everything you could imagine PLUS a most majestic view of Bull Shoals Lake. Incredible.
What really made our stay, however, was the graciousness of our hosts, Michael and Lorilee. They thought of everything.
I have two strong recommendations, however: #1 make sure you have everything you need before you arrive (i.e. drinks, snacks, etc), because you will NOT want to leave. #2 Order meals! Lecy's Shrimp and Pasta was spectacular and the Pork Tenderloin was delicious!
