Mystic Pines Retreat is the perfect high mountain escape. Enjoy the serenity of kicking back, reading a book, relaxing in the hot tub, or just listening to the wind in the pines from the deck. If you are looking for activities, you will find skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, biking trails, and golf, all within 5 miles. If you want more of the tourist experience Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park, Devils Tower, etc. are all within a few hours drive. After a day of activity nothing is better than relaxing in the hot tub, in front of the fireplace, kick back on the deck, or head into Deadwood for some dinner and to try your luck in the casinos. The cabin is fully furnished with all the amenities of home. There is plenty of parking and even a garage to get your sleds or bikes in out of the weather. There is also an adjacent open area for tents and campers.

We are the owners of the cabin and totally empathize with the comments on the curtain. At the time the state of SD required us to open up the room for fire evacuation. It was a process to comply with the SD laws.

And to allow our guests to continue renting we had the opening with a curtain. We now have a door between the 2 rooms to accomodate more privacy.

We strive to have our guests enjoy their stay! And welcome any comments so we can stay on top of keeping our cabin a pleasurable vacation retreat.

ok place , but put a curtain in the midddle of the room and call it two bedrooms is a bit deceptive and disapointing for people in our group who expected thier own room.

If you want a great experience in the Black Hills of South Dokota, you won't find a better place. What a wonderful time we had. Each year, my veteran (Air Force) friends and I get together, and there is no way we could have ever found a better place. On our arrival, the place was totally new. Had I known how wonderful this place really was, I could have travelled with a bag a third of the size I had! I have, and my roomates agree, have never found a better place to stay in all our travels!!!!! You won't be disappointed! Highly, Highly, Recommended!!!!!

Great Place to Stay!

We arrived on the 19th of Sept and stayed for 2 days. Incredible weather, highs in the 70's. We lounged around until about 9:30 or 10:00 am and then drove to a local cafe (Cheyenne Crossing) South of the cabin, and had a fantastic breakfast. We were on a bicycling trip to do about 40 miles of the Mickelson Trail...which we did. Forgot the fly rod...not next time though! What an awesome trail system. We were within 5 minutes of one of the trailheads. We also saw (because we are snow skiers) that we were within 2 minutes of Deer Mountain and about 10 minutes of Terry Peak. We were also about 5 minutes from Lead Golf Course. We ended our day of biking and went to Deadwood for a great meal and did a little gambling. After a wonderful day we came back to the cabin and spent our evening with the Hot tub. We got up in the morning and lounged again, showers, good breakfast, a little TV and... unfortunately had to leave the Hills. Will we do this again? In a heartbeat! What a fantastic cabin and a fantastic location! You can't beat the Black Hills for fun and relaxation. Thank You owners for providing a very pleasurable experience for myself and my friend. See you again soon.
