Treat your family to a wonderful affordable lakefront vacation. Our cottage is furnished and decorated to the fullest and also includes your very own 22' pontoon boat to fish and explore the lake for your entire stay!

It would be our pleasure to have you as guests at our cottage. We hope you will come and enjoy a stay at the lake. We will do everything in our power to make your stay fun and enjoyable.

Our smoke-free cottage is on beautiful West Londo Lake in Hale MI. The lake is an all sports lake that you can enjoy water-skiing, fishing, swimming, relaxing on the water and beautiful sunsets. Our beachfront is safe and inviting to your children, whether swimming or playing in the sand building castles! Fishing is also a highlight on our lake with our provided pontoon boat which makes it especially enjoyable for your family.

The kitchen adjoins the main living room. It is fully equipped with everything you will need. The kitchen also has a breakfast bar for morning cereal.

The living room exits onto a large deck which offers a breathtaking view of the lake and beautiful sunsets directly in front of you! The deck has a large picnic table with ample seating to enjoy dinners overlooking the water.

The cottage has a master bedroom with a view of the the lake. The master bedroom has it's own TV, with cable and DVD player. There is also a bunk room that sleeps three and is decorated in a fishing motif, great for the kids. In between the master bedroom and bunk room is a full bath and a third bedroom with a double bed. Plan to bring your own towels and sheets. Pillows, speads, blankets and mattress covers provided.

Our decor will make you feel at home. It's quaint, warm atmosphere and attention to detail will make you realize you chose somewhere special for your family vacation.

Our rental week goes from Saturday starting at 4:00 pm to the following Saturday ending at 10:00 am.

The weekly rental includes the cottage, canoe, pontoon boat and fire pit with wood.

Reservation/security deposit: We will hold your reservation with a $600 deposit, this will also be a security deposit. The security deposit will be refunded to you within two weeks from your departure minus the cleaning fee. ($60 fee for reasonable cleaning, if more extensive needed, cost will reflect.)

Our cancellation policy: If a reservation is canceled, you will forfeit your reservation/security deposit, with two exceptions. If we are able to rent the week for which you have canceled we will refund your money in full or you may transfer your deposit to another available week.

Pontoon boat: We do everything in our power to keep our boat in good running order, However, if the boat is disabled and not usable for reasons out of our control for during the week of your stay we will give you a credit of $40 per day up to a full credit of $300 for the week. This credit does not apply to lack of usage due to improper use or lack of operating knowledge by the rentor. If a service person is sent to the cottage to help or service an issue that is deemed to be no fault of the owners a service fee of $40 may be deducted from your security deposit.

The pontoon boat is not to be on the lake after dark.

We are located two and a half hours north of Pontiac, 50 minutes north of Standish or 25 minutes west of Tawas.

This is our second cottage on this lake, if you have a family reunion or larger groups please consider renting both cottages.

About The Owner

We are Randy and Melody Hulten. We have been married since 1998. We are a blended family with 1 daughter and 3 sons. They range in age from 17 to 25 years of age. Because of our blended family we have 2 sons named Joshua. As if that wasn't enough our daughter married one as well! Our 2 youngest boys are 4 months a part in age and will be graduating from high school in 2012. We are expecting a very busy year on the homefront. We also have a welsh terrier that has us all wrapped around her paw, and always so excited to go up north. Randy is an engineer in the auto industry and Melody has been blessed to be a stay at home Mom but is kept very busy with kids, aging parents and of course vacation rentals. We enjoy doing projects around our home and cottages too. We very much enjoy seeing the excitement in our guests as they arrive and hear or read their guestbook comments of how they enjoyed the lake and cottage.

Why The Owner chose Hale

We have enjoyed this area for years and have another lakefront cottage just around the corner from this one. We have always loved the location because of it only being 2 1/2 hours north of our home in Auburn Hills. All our children grew up vacationing up north and still enjoy going (except for the work weekends of course) The main reason we bought this cottage was because of the lake frontage and beach. We knew from experience that our guests really appreciate a decent swimming area. The cottage itself lends to such a fun quaint cottage atmosphere and our guests love it.

What makes this cottage unique

All our guests that stay at our cottage very much get to enjoy the lake experience because of the pontoon boat included. It is a great feature for families with kids of all ages. The pontoon makes fishing with kids much more enjoyable (we know from experience.) The reason why we include the pontoon is to give our guests the ability to enjoy the lake to the fullest instead of just looking at it. We often have beautiful sunsets to enjoy straight across the lake or on a sunset cruise. After sunset it is time for a campfire and smores down on the sandy beach. Our boat also allows you to get more up close to the wildlfe on the lake. We have a small island that nests our loons that often have 2 babies each spring. Hearing them call and sing to each other in the evening or early morning is breathtaking. As of 2007 we have bald eagles as well! We have watched them swoop down and fish themselves. They often perch in near by trees or fly over the cottage. Randy has taken many photos of them, he has been labeled "obsessed" ! Both the loons and eagles are such beautiful creations. We desire for all our guests to enjoy our cottage as we have been blessed to do for so many years.

This-is-it-Too cottage is a wonderful getaway for families looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan. The cottage is decorated as you would decorate your own home and is very comfortable, cozy and provides all of the necessary items to enjoy a fun-filled and stress free week. In addition, the extra amenities that are provided at this cottage including the pontoon boat, beach set-up and deck complete with lounge chairs, picnic table and grill make the stay at this cottage all the more pleasant. The owners of this cottage, Melody and Randy ensure that their guests have everything that they need while vacationing and keep the cottage immaculate. What a nice place! Better than expected, nicer than pictures show. So clean and cozy. We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of the summer and never saw a spider or bug! The weather was cold but the cabin was so cozy we didn't mind. Very spacious and fully stocked. The bathroom was a real plus, large in size, clean walk in shower, plenty of hooks & shelves which is rare to find in a cottage! Melody & Randy have it decorated with a real northwoods cabin feeling. Dishes and utensils are nice....full size stove and fridge.
We really enjoyed the Friday night fish fry at the Eagles just outside of town (both Fridays)!
Great grocery stores in town.....fantastic bakery at Kochers!
Would recommend to anyone.

We rent a cottage every summer for a week in a new area and this was a great place for this summer's vacation! It has a large deck overlooking the whole lake and a great beachfront area to hang out during the day and have bonfires at night. Plenty of outdoor furniture for large groups. The boat is a great bonus, we did have a small problem and the owners had a mechanic there within the half hour. Since it would take a day to fix they had another boat for us to use! The cottage was very clean and comfy, it had everything we could ever need, even tupperware for leftovers! There were plenty of games/cards or TV with cable/dvd player for the rainy day. We brought the dog and he had a great time splashing on the beach. This cottage is a great get away from the city but still within reach of basic needs. We had a really good time and would recommend to a friend!

This is it Too cottage is a great cottage to rent. It was very clean and spacious and had everything that you could possibly want or need. We enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the lake and relaxing. The pontoon boat was a plus and the fishing was great. We had camp fires on the beach everynight with the firewood that was provided. We hope to return again soon!

We were the first to stay in This-is-it-Cottage-Too and it was wonderful. We have rented 2 other cottage prior and this one was the best we have stayed in. Clean- we had a 1 year old and I had no fears with him getting into any mystery dirt, they even supplied a high chair and crib. All kitchen utensils needed even sharp knives that can cut a steak! Great fishing- we caught two large mouth bass, any issues and owners were quick to fix. Definitely a plus having the boat! Will rent again in the future.

This-is-it-Cottage-Too was everything it said it would be and more. The sunsets were spectacular, the Loons were awsome. We got so close to the Loons on the pontoon,it made my trip even more special. Loons are my favorite bird!
The pontoon was nice to have a morning-afternoon fishing trip. And was also nice for a gentle ride around the lake to see the sunset and the wonderful Loons. When we got to the cottage it made you immediatly welcomed and comfortable. The decorations through out the cottage were tastefully done. This is a place I would come back to again and again. It was enough room to have my parents up as well. This was a great place for family bonding.

We really enjoyed our stay at your cottage.. It is a perfect place if you are looking for a week of rest & relaxation with a great view! It was just what we were looking for !Oh and the fishing was great too!You will not be disappointed ..
