Seven Miles from Lutsen Mountain - a premiere ski hill and cross country trails. The summer months offer hiking, salmon fishing, lake fishing, sightseeing of many different types of wildlife abound. Excellent shopping and restaurants in Grand Marais which is only 12 miles north of there.

What a lovely place! We spend a wonderful week listening to the waves and watching the light change as each day passed. The cottage is perfect: clean, well-maintained and comfortable. Great kitchen with high quality cooking utensils. Lovely deck for breakfasting with the great lake. Quiet surroundings and a very clean and attractive pebble beach.
We found two books helpful: A Rock Picker's Guide to Lake Superior's North Shore by Mark Stensaas and a guide book to Lake Superior's Historic North Shore. We ate lovely lunches in Tofte at The Coho Cafe and in Grand Marais at the Angry Trout. Grand Marais has good book stores and a lovely art gallery, the Silvertson Gallery.

This was a great place to stay and get away from it all! Very quiet and peaceful with the only noise coming from the tranquility of the waves (there is another cabin in close proximity which could cause some noise issues, but no one was there when we were there). Right on the lake with great views and nice private beach area (pretty rocky, no sand, but great for rock collectors!). The listing and description of this cabin were dead on, with the exception of stating it has a mile long beach to walk along. I tried to continue walking past the cabin, along the beach, but was sternly told by locals that it was private property and I was to stay down by the cabin. All in all I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who needs to rest, relax, and take in the beauty of lake superior! I would have no hesitations about returning in the future.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at this cabin. Surprisingly, the pictures are misleading--the outdoor photos reflect the beauty of where this is situated, by the inside photos underestimate how cute this cabin is. The bedroom with a double bed looks right onto Lake Superior, with a gently rolling surf and sound. The cabin is clean, well renovated, and really well stocked. We loved it here and would gladly return.
