A beautiful, immaculate Cabin with a River view

Review Submitted: December 20, 2007 Date of Stay: August 2007
I went with three friends for a "Girls Weekend Out" to this cabin last August, and this was an amazing place. We felt so pampered at this cabin. The wooden patio has a hot tub with lounge area, and the huge backyard has direct river access and a nice patio setup. The kitchen is completely equiped for whatever you want to cook, including a gas BBQ. The two bedrooms + two bathrooms have fine linens, and the cute loft upstairs has two twin beds. The home is build around several mature pine trees, so it almost felt like we were in our own private forest.
Although it was uncomforably hot in other areas of California those days, the cabin is in the valley by the river and it stayed cool.

What a great place to stay! Note- the stairs to the upstairs loft are a bit steep, so plan on rooming the most nimble folks in the party upstairs. There are 2 sets of stairs leading up to the cabin, so this would not be good for a physically disabled person. We will be visiting this place every summer!

Nice relaxing weekend

Review Submitted: July 1, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed here for 3 days in June and had a really nice relaxing time. A short 2 hour drive from the East Bay where we live. The owners were wonderful to work with. The house is clean, quiet, has a lovely view of the river and I loved the decorating.

A perfect home away from home!

My entire family (including our two teenage kids and our Golden Retriever) enjoyed this trip. This home is perfect in every way, clean, well maintained, and more importantly it felt like home. If you needed something - it was there. The cabin was very nicely decorated and to add to that - the furniture and beds and linens were very comfortable. The owners are very nice and quick to respond. This location was great, it's smack in the middle of everything. Most of our late afternoons were spent swimming and floating on the river in front of the cabin in our inflatable boats, the owners do have tubes and lounge inflatables also. Access to the river is not super easy but put your feet in the right places and it's fine. And then every evening in the hot tub under the redwoods - ah. We did a 1/2 day kayak/canoe trip in Healdsburg with River's Edge, they allow dogs in their canoes. The river up there is crystal clear, some small rapids, very fun. Drive the backroads (Westside) up to Healsdburg lots of wineries and pretty scenary. We also spent a day at the coast, so different from Southern California beaches, really breath taking! We went to the beach at Goats Rock just south of Jenner. If you walk south just a little bit you have the beach to yourself - on a weekend - in the summer - imagine that! If you have a dog go to the south side, Blind Beach, allows them on leash. We brought kites - just a little more wind would have been perfect. On the home from the Russian River we took the Bohemian Hwy. through Occidental, that was one of the most beautiful drives. A perfect end to our trip. We'll be back next summer and stay a little longer!!!

Perfect getaway

This home was beautiful! It was very comfortable, the beds, linens, couches, patio ...everything was perfect! There were even fans in every room for those of us who need the noise of a fan to sleep! The kitchen and dining room were large enough and had everything stocked that we needed to prepare and eat a large meal for 6 adults! The hot tub was just what we needed after a long day of wine tasting! The location was perfect for wine tasting during the day, then we drove to the coast at night to watch the sunset! I would absolutely recommend this home and I hope our next experience with homeaway.com is as wonderful as this one!

Hello Penelope,

Just wanted to say that we had a great weekend and
loved your cabin.
Very cozy and welcoming, with perfectly equipped
kitchen (we cooked
the Thanksgiving dinner there!). The decor is
fabulous: tasteful and
unassuming. It is perfect!

This little house is very cute and the owners have done a great job decorating. It does not feel like a "rental" at all. The location is great & we loved the fact that it is directly across river from the Burkes canoe rental dropoff. It saves having to take a shuttle back (assuming you have 2 cars). Of course this was before we realized that Johnsons Beach has canoe rental too! The only thing lacking is a BBQ. The owners are very nice and easy to work with.
Owner's Response: Thank you, the cabin now has a bbq grill.
