A Slice of Heaven

Review Submitted: July 17, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
If you’ve never experienced the majestic mountains of Georgia nor seen the breath taking views of Lake Chatuge, then I would like to highly recommend Logan’s Ridge. This home will far exceed any of your expectations. You feel the warmth and excitement of this home from the moment it comes into view. As you open the front door and step in the WOW factor catches you, from the rustic décor to the spectacular mountain and lake views. You can’t wait to explore Logan’s Ridge from top to bottom. The hot tub and hammock were a wonderful added bonus, along with the awesome game room and viewing loft. Once you’ve headed out you will find the local attractions, dinning experiences, along with the quaint shop’s a joy to explore. Larry and Lisa thank you for your kindness in sharing your home with us and for the spectacular job you have done. We look forward to a return visit.

We had a WONDERFUL weekend at Logan's Ridge! The house is even more beautiful than the photos show. It is located at the very top of a mountain overlooking Lake Chatuge and the view is breathtaking. The house was modern, clean, and spacious. The master bedroom was nice, and although it isn't shown in the photos has a great walk-in shower in the bath. We had a few other couples join us, and everyone was very happy with their sleeping arrangements. The house was perfect, and the location incredibly scenic. We even got a nice snowfall on Sunday to top it all off! I would highly recommend this rental, and found renting from Lisa a pleasure. Thank you so much - and we hope to be back soon!

GREAT PLACE!!!! We rented for an entire week. It was the first rental that did not actually feel like a rental. The owners are truley sharing there home with everyone. It was relaxing and we were lucky enough to be there for the 4th of July. It was the first time ever that we were above the fireworks show. AMAZING... We also visited Helen and they are pet friendly also, which made our vacation even more enjoyable we had 4 teenagers and a spoiled 4 legged brat that had a great time with the local dogs that visited.. We will be returning guests if Larry and Lisa continue to share their home with everyone. Thanks again for a great time.

This place has it all--wonderful views, close proximity to town, all the luxuries of home...and your own friendly canine escort to the cabin. Let old 'Blue' guide you to this retreat where you can rock on the porch to the sounds of the newly installed waterfall or soak in the hot tub. I promise you won't want to leave.

We had an awesome stay--experienced the full gamut of weather...from snow on Monday to sunny and warm by Wednesday. The views are outstanding--Brasstown Bald is just out the window. The game room is ready for your teenagers enjoyment.

Who could ask for more?

We'll definitely use this property again!

What a beautiful place to relax. It was everything promised and more. We came up for a relaxing long weekend with our nine year old and our dog. The chalet is perfect, very comfortable. There were detailed instructions for everything needed. Larry and Lisa are dedicated to making sure their guests have a great visit. The view was unbelievable; especially on a misty rainy day. The driveway is steep, but should be no problem for anyone who has an SUV or is used to driving mountain road. We will return.

Beautiful Place! Well worth the money to stay here. You'll be surprised at how nice the amenities and furnishings are. The views from either deck are unobstructed of the mountains and Lake Chatuge, and fabulous. We spent most of our evenings and mornings watching the sun or stars from the Jacuzzi or hammock. The owners are gracious people and are very interested in your comfort / satisfaction. We brought our 2 year old vizla along as he is part of the family, and as advertized, dogs are welcome. The kitchen and bathrooms are all "up scale" with granite counter tops and high end furnishings. Great place for a combined family rental. Satellite TV was a plus (loved the Tivo like record capability). I was able to do work (hated to), but because of the internet access I could get to what I needed. Verizon and Sprint cell phones worked fine. My wife spent many days in nearby shopping and craft places. My two sons and I spent most days fishing and swimming in lake Chatuge. Hiawassee has plenty of good restaurants. If you're planning to bass fish bring the big guns! Very challenging! The outfitter at the marina is the only descent place to buy fishing supplies and get good hints. Easy lake access and boat ramps but make sure you have plenty of power if you're pulling a boat up the driveway (very steep!) You may want to consider a rental slip at the local marina if you have a large boat. We were very pleased with the rental and will be renting from the Johnsons again. Would be a great place to get snowed in for the winter. We didn't want to go home. Thanks for a plaesurable stay :)
