Well-appointed house

Thanks so much for a well-organized, well appointed house on a lake! We had a great time. Entertained the family, used the boats and paddles, and cooked a lot. Great kitchen!

A Glorious Time

My family rented this house for the july 4th holiday week. When we arrived everything was as described and more so. The house was immaculate and was equipped with everything you might need. We even used the board games that are stocked in the closets for the rainy afternoon activity. The kitchen was stocked with all the tools to cook just about anything. We grilled several nights and ate out on the deck. The night sky only added to the ambience. Mornings included breakfast on the deck while watching all the birds coming to eat at the birdhouse. We were four adults and had ample room to have separate or together time in this house. The kayaks and row boat were exactly where the owner stated (just a short walk to the lake). We swam or boated everyday and the lake is just beautiful -- pristine and peaceful. This is a private lake and housing community so it is cared for by all the owners. My family has been coming to Copake and the Berkshires for over 40 years and are very familiar with the area. There is so much to do within no more than an hours drive away, or you can just stay local and enjoy all that is within a 10 minute car ride. The owner has all the updated information (maps, brochures etc) about events and local highlights ready for you.Restaurants and farm to table food are fabulous or you can just head to the farmers market or local stands and cook up wonderful meals. Our vacation was fantastic and cannot wait to rent this house again. Additionally the owner was very easy to work with. Enjoy!
Owner's Response: Thanks Meryl. So glad everyone enjoyed their stay. Best, Michael

We stayed here over Labor Day 2010 with my parents and our family of four (including 2 kids). The house was clean and the amenities were wonderful....even appreciated the charcoal grill!! We used the fans provided in each bedroom. Everything worked except the coffee maker was slow to brew, but we brought that to the owners attention. Yard was park-like and my young boys loved the woods and surrounding area. Great fishing in nearby lake as my husband and father really caught more fish than expected and had the same amount of stories to go with the fist! A short walk to the lake, but not in the backyard. Went into Great Barrington to shop. A place we enjoy and not too far of a drive. Drove further north one day to Yankee Candle Museum and Shop in Massachusetts. Only hiccup for my parents who are in their 60's was the dining table with the stools. Hard for them to get on and off of. The deck was super large and provided plenty of eating space and hanging out area. A house that we enjoyed staying at and would visit again.

Great weekend place

The house had everything we needed for a relaxing winter weekend, including internet and cable to watch the games. Owner was very easy to work with, the house was sparkling clean and well kept up, and the listing was very accurate. We'd definitely go up again, either for another winter weekend in front of the fire, or to check it out in the summer.

Great Getaway Weekend

We stayed at this house for 3 nights/4 days and had a wonderful time with friends to celebrate my birthday. The house was clean and well-stocked with anything you could need from utensils and pots/pans to a washer and dryer that came in handy - we felt right at home. We took full advantage of the kitchen and the location was great - a short walk to the lake where a rowboat and two kayaks were easily accessible. It was also a short drive to Taconic State Park which had some really great hikes. We spent every day/night exploring the area, fishing and kayaking. Also, the cable tv and HD Vizio mounted in the living room came in handy on Football Sunday! The deck was great for hanging out and bbq. Highly recommend this house. We will definitely be back!

Would come back. Our two months were enjoyable, except for rain. Was nice to have a fireplace to be cozy while playing games. Would recommend to anyone.

Large enough for children and grandchildren to stay over and nice large deck to entertain family and friends. Could use gas grill.

Swimming fishing, boating, baseball and games in backyard. Bumper cars and miniature golf in Hillsdale.

Mom's in Egremont, Swiss Hutte and restaurants in Great Barrington.

Could use cordless phone , wash all windows and have a gas grill.

All in all it was great and mentioned minor items.

We stayed at this property 10 nights late August 2008 we enjoyed it so much we wished we could have stayed more. It is located in a very private residential location with an excellent rear deck great for barbeques etc easy access to lake with fishing and boating provided by owner. We did not lack for any amenities in this well equipped and clean premise. Good location for touring and exploring beautiful surrounding area. Big thanks to owner who ensured everything was made easy for our stay.
