WOW,talk about Hawaii on your own terms ,what a perfect condo,if you gave me a sheet of paper and told me to write down everything I would want in a condo this would be it,ocean view from the living room, ocean view from the master bedroom ,there's even an ocean view from the master bedroom shower,the fact that you can cook your own meals while you swim in the pool and watch the sunset is priceless, the town of Kona is awsome and only a 3 minute drive,if you need any local info (beaches,grocery stores,etc.ask John the manager he's always happy to help,one morning we saw him out front and he gave us some payapa and banana grown right on the property.If your looking for crowded pricey trumped up resorts look elsewhere, but if you want a slice of Old Hawaii on your terms go to the Smiths condo,thanks Kevin and Cindy our stay was magical.

We loved the condo's location, it was a short drive into downtown and minutes from beaches. I also loved having the washer/dryer in unit definitely a plus. It was so nice to just hang out by the pool and BBQ it is a very quiet complex which I liked. I loved all the decor and cleanliness it made it very comfy and cozy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much :)

During our stay at the Royal Kahili, we enjoyed relaxing on the Lanai while drinking our morning cup of coffee, and watching the beautiful ocean. The condo's location was in a prime spot. It was only a short drive from town and not far from local beaches. The condo itself was very clean and updated. We especially loved being able to do our laundry due to the washer/dryer on site (in the condo). The pool area was also very clean and enjoyable. It had all the amenities needed such as a BBQ Grill, refrigerator, outdoor games, and a nice patio area which was lit up every night.

Things we enjoyed doing included: Kayaking with the dolphins near Captain Cook monument, paddle boarding above the turtles at Turtle Beach, hanging out at LuLu's, and having coffee at Java on the Rocks in the morning. *****Eating at "Da Poke Shack" is a must!!!

While booking the holiday, Kevin was so helpful answering any e-mails i sent. The condo was fantastic - and had everything you could possible want for a great beach holiday. We spent every morning and every evening on the Lani - enjoying watching the surf and the surfers :-)

Spent 7 incredible days at the Smith condo. Upon arrival I knew we had picked the right place. While the pictures were appealing in our decision to stay at this condo, the unit itself and the grounds were more impressive than the pictures suggested. The location was perfect. Very close to downtown Kona yet a truly Hawaiian feel with a beach 50 steps away. The condo was very clean and comfortable and nicely furnished with a useful layout. Spent most of our time while at the Condo on the lanai. The views were amazing. With the wrap around lanai, we had a view of the lush grounds and well-maintained pool along with the sights and sounds of the beach and ocean. This unit is one of, if not the best in the complex. Others we met there were very friendly and courteous. The pool, lawn, lounging area and BBQ were ideal for a leisure evening meal as the sun set. We spent a couple of nights in Kona and was pleased with the variety of things to do. Shopping, dancing, ice cream, coffee, walk along the ocean; all a short distance from the condo. After a morning coffee at Lava Java and an outside breakfast at one of the many wonderful cafes, we would spend our days at the beach. Went to a beautiful, secluded beach via an off-road trail which was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. Fantastic weather and no more than a dozen people to share a mile+ long beach. (Thank you Kevin and Cindy for suggesting Makalu Wena (sp?) and for compiling a well thought out and informative Big Island favorites list. It was extremely helpful!)
This was our first trip to the Big Island and after many trips to Maui and once to Oahu, I have to say I enjoyed the Kona area the most. It is definitely the laid back Hawaiian style I was looking for and the condo accentuates it nicely.
I would highly recommend the Smith condo for couples and for small families with chidren of all ages. You cannot go wrong. Thanks to the Smiths for a true Hawaiian vacation.

We stayed in the condo from Jan 22 to Jan 29, 2012. It is a great property. The recent renovation is beautiful. Upon check in the condo was spotless. Not only was the description accurate but we had the pleasure of meeting the owners in person. They were there on business and unfortunately they could not stay in their own place as we had booked it months in advance. They were very gracious about the fact they had to stay elsewhere. Being able to converse with the owners in person was great. They gave us all kinds of helpful hints. . We hope to return in the near future for a longer period of time.

We had an amazing time in Kona! The condo was very comfortable just like home, very clean and the owners did a great job on the remodel, very beautiful. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night. The condo is very kid freindly. Our kids had a great time useing the sand toys and the boogy boards! One afternoon we were eating lunch on the lanai and saw some turtles across the street in a little tidepool, we dropped our lunch and ran across the street to watch the turtles eat their lunch! The kids loved it!! we will for sure stay there again and will tell all our friends about this great condo!!! Thank you so much Smith family!

The property was exactly how it is described. The entire complex is well maintained and they have a lovely pool and deck area. The condo is nicely furnished and it is well located close to the shops and restarants in Kona and of course a lovely sand beach is not too far away. Right across the road is a beach that has lots of tidal pools full of fish and other sea creatures to explore. All the beach and snorkling gear is provided. The owners have thougthfully provided a guide book to the Big Island that was an excellent resource.
