Not too impressed

This rowhouse has been remodeled and has some rooms that are very pretty, but there are several problems areas that had shoddy work. For example, the tile in the kitchen area near the stairs to the basement apartment was cracked and I felt it was a trip hazard. The floor in the room above the sunroom is quite slanted (people sleeping there will be on an incline). The floor from the kitchen/dining area to the sunroom is also slanted and could be a trip hazard. The stairs are narrow and steep, difficult for older people in our party. For the most part, the neighborhood was lower/middle class blue collar type. The people we saw were friendly, except for one woman down the street who screamed at people to stay off her property as they passed by (even though we were on the sidewalk). The property attached to this house appears to be occupied by college students, although they were not noisy during our stay. Parking is difficult, as the back driveway is narrow and difficult to access with anything larger than a compact. However, a car is almost a necessity, as the property is not really convenient to public transportation. We also had difficulty getting our full deposit back, as we were accused of keeping a pet onsite without the owners knowledge. In actuality, we had arranged for this ahead of time and paid a nonrefundable pet deposit (and all of this was documented in our rental agreement). Once I disputed this, the remaining amount of the deposit was refunded, but it took some time and it was frustrating. I probably would not stay at this property again.
