We have just returned home after a wonderful week on Maui with our base of operations this well appointed condo.

The location is on the very north end of Lahaina town - close enough and far enough from the center. Access to north Maui sights is quite good. We happen to like the Kaanapali/Napili/Kapalua beaches, so this condo was well situated. Even so, Maui is small enough that even the furthest sight (Hana) was workable as a day trip with an early start.

Amenities included are extensive - we took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, beach gear (towels, chairs, rattan beach mats, boogie boards), condo BBQ, and broadband internet connection.

The owner, Keith, was quite responsive and helpful with the few questions we had.

Five star view; unit needs some attention

This unit is in an older apt/condo complex that would rate no more than a three-star hotel rating. It is located in a residential area on north Front St. The grounds are small but well-maintained with a helpful on-site mgr. The view is terrific, and the residents are friendly. The unit itself has been minimally upgraded from its sixties origins and is ready for a thorough "spring cleaning". Typical for a one-bedroom condo in Hawaii, the bedroom is located just inside the entry door of the unit--in this case, streetside. Consequently, there is perpetual street noise in the bedroom. I wore earplugs to sleep. No accomodation has been made for dining inside the unit. The table and chairs are on the lanai, which is fine in nice weather and daylight. We had two days of solid rain, and one is forced to either leave or eat inside where the only seating is one papa-san type chair and a sofa bed. We felt that we got an acceptable value for what we paid; I'm not sure if we would rent this unit again or not. While it was well-stocked, mismatched and worn towels and linens and throw rugs that don't get washed or cleaned under are a big turn-off to me. I would not recommend this location for families.
Owner's Response: After all our favorable reviews, it's tough to receive our first critical one. Understandably, rainy weather can dampen one's enthusiasm for a place, and we admit the "choice of tables location" in our listing description, means you have to move the light weight patio table and chairs inside to eat there (unless you want to use the coffee table), but we think that arrangement makes the living room a lot less cluttered with furniture. Tougher to take is the comment that our unit was minimally upgraded, since our pocketbook remembers the new mirrored BR wardrobe door, completely remodeled bath and kitchen, new washer and dryer, and painting and new furniture throughout. Our central location may not be as quiet as a country site, but we hope the BR a/c and/or ceiling fan can mute objectional noise. We try and replace worn towels and sheets, but mabye we should color coordinate everything if we want to improve our rating closer to our "5 star view". We thank all who comment, since it helps us do a better job.

Greatest Spot on Maui

Rent this Place!! The pictures can't describe what an unbelievable view you get from the Lanai. We never closed the patio door the whole week we were there. The owners have thought of everything you will need for your stay. You only need food and beverage. Take advantage of the ammenities in the kitchen as well as the grill outside. Fresh fish available at The Fish Market towards Napili Beach, they will take care of everything for you. The location is prime, close to everything. The owner has a journal for everyone to see and jot down helpful information to help plan your vacation, so many helpful ideas. High speed internet, fast and reliable. The owner Keith was also very helpful. You will not be disappointed and can't wait to we return to this beautiful condo. I repeat, rent this place. Jon and Kim

Heaven on Earth!

I cannot say enough good things about this place except to say the the pictures do not do it justice. It had to be one of the most beautiful spots I have ever visited. It is nicely furnished and except for food and drink there is nothing you could want. From the boogie baords, to the beach chairs, to the soft sided coolers, Keith thought of and provided everything. The views alone are worth the price. Sea turtles gather every afternoon, the pool is always clean, the grilles outside were always available. If you were considering this place, look no further cuz you have found what you were looking for; proximity to downtown Lahaina, proximity to a decent grocery store and an even better store, Longs, to buy alcohol, short drive to some of the nicest beaches on the planet, Kannapali, Napili, and do not miss Big and Little Beach! Thanks so much Keith! I will be back !!!!

This was a great location and great view from the Lani. We had everything that we needed in walking distance, beaches, markets, fine dining, fast food, and activitities. The condo is well maintained with a great manager there to answer any questions. The veiw from the Lani is amazing...Turtles in the morning and evening and beautiful sunsets. We would definatly stay here again.

We loved staying at this very comfortable condo. It is up to date and clean, and the hosts have paid attention to every detail to make your stay comfortable. The ocean is closer than any resort you'll stay at. We could see sea turtles in the ocean from our lanai. The view from the living room is a harbor with the sailboats and is very romantic. There is no better place to have dinner than on this lanai. It is close to everything and parking is easy. You will not be disappointed.

Great view, great price!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay for 8 days in this condo. It was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need and there are many other amenities (as listed).

The view was wonderful! The evening sun sets directly in front of the condo lanai (in February when we were there) and behind the island of Lanai, which is in full view. Be on the lookout for whales in the winter. We also spotted monk seals just in front of the sea wall. Binoculars are provided for your enjoyment!

The building is very quiet. I would not suggest this condo for families with small children as it would ruin the quietness of the building. There are about a dozen permanent residents in the building, a few of whom blow their conch shells every evening at sunset. Be sure to look off your balcony and enjoy the "concert" (one gentlemen is in the condo next door).

There is an air conditioner in the bedroom only. I'm not sure how well it would work to cool the entire condo. Since we were staying there in the winter we did use it to cool down the bedroom (temps were in the upper 70's to low 80's when we were there) and then turned on the ceiling fan the rest of the night. There are also ceiling fans in the kitchen and living room.

The building is located beyond the downtown area of Lahaina (about a mile walk to the edge of the town), but only a block from Lahaina Cannery Mall, where there is a Safeway (for groceries; be sure to use the discount card that is on the refrigerator), Longs Drugs, and many more shops. If you drive your car into Lahaina there are many lots to park in; most charge $3 for the evening, some offer validation.

One local restaurant that we found, and went to for dinner twice, is Smokehouse BBQ. It is located one block mauka (toward the mountains) from Front Street and close to the Hilo Hattie store. Great food at reasonable prices!
