Riga is the capital of Latvia, a small Baltic Sea nation that has been free from Soviet rule for 17 years. The Old Town is almost completely restored to its ravishing beauty of the 30's when its standard of living equaled Stockholm, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. This apartment is the personal residence of the president of an international Christian charity. He lives in it about 6 months per year. It's available to rent when he is not in Latvia.

It is about 100 years old, but fully renovated. It's in a large apartment building with an old, but functional elevator. The location is amazing, right in the middle of the Old Town. Look out the window and see the National Archives, Philharmonic Hall, Small Guild. Step out of the front door and you are in Dome Cathedral Square. There are countless restaurants, cafés, beer gardens, malls, antique stores, galleries, health spas, museums and places of historical interest. Street parking is not possible; public parking garage near by.

From the time we were met at the bus station in Riga until the time we departed for the airport our experience with the property was wonderful. The apartment was as described and the location was perfect.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Great location in Old Town Riga. Comfortable. Nice selection of movies during down time. Walking distance from everything. We would return again.

2 bedroom like home....

This 2bedroom apartment was a great place to stay. It was great on location, location, location!! It has all the comforts of our american home. Being close to all the action it does get a bit load at night especially on weekends. If the elevator is not working(it's like a century old) you will have to walk up 4 storiesof steps, so if handicapped, not perfered. I would definitly recommend this place!
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Felt right at home

Apartment is as described. Worked very well for us. Being in the center of Old Riga is ideal. We watched movies that were in the apartment, used the electricity converters, and other assorted amenities. The owners guidebook and tips were quite helpful.
I would caution about the 72 steps as the elevator is often not working.
