Professionally decorated second-floor end-unit condo with elevator overlooks pond and $1 million interactive fountain. New bayside Sunset Island neighborhood at 67th Street was designed by same architect who did Disney's Celebration, the incredible planned community in Orlando. This condo is much more than a place at the beach. Gated community features both an indoor and outdoor pool; a state-of-the-art gym; a clubhouse with sauna, library, etc.; three private bay beaches (great for sunset viewing and for toddlers), a gourmet general store; hiking trail; and bayfront restaurant/bar. Easy three-block walk to the ocean, an extra-wide stretch of sand with room to breathe even on holiday weekends. Beach is situated next to the full-service Holiday Inn, a great spot to listen to live music or grab a cold drink. Condo decorated for owners.

The Place: The condo (4 Fountain Drive East 3A) was originally decorated as an owner-occupied unit, and quality is way above average. Well-stocked kitchen, including such niceties as a professional-grade corkscrew. There is a full collection of kids' videos, several DVDs for the parents and books galore for everyone. Great stereo system with built-in speakers. This is also a great choice for the grandparents: Underground parking, elevator and oversize doors that allow wheelchair entry makes the living easy, and protected balcony that overlooks the interactive fountain, pond, and walking trail is a great way to stay entertained, even if you can't get to the beach. Would also work well for two families of four.

The Community: If you never wanted to leave Sunset Island, you wouldn't have to. This place is unique in Ocean City; perhaps on the entire Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey coast. It's got all the bells and whistles, and if you're the type who wants more than just the beach, this is the place for you. The architecture is Key West with great colors, and open balconies and porches. The kids will never be bored with the indoor pool, outdoor pool and interactive fountain, and you'll feel safe letting them roam in this protected, gated community. Adults will love pulling up a chair and watching the sunset while enjoying a refreshing cocktail. And for those who need a good workout before lying on the beach, the gym is state-of-the-art with treadmills, weight machines, free weights, elliptical, bikes, and three flat-screen TVs. The island was sold out to renters last year by mid June.

Be aware that not all Sunset Island condos are equal. Some are owned by absentee investors who don't concern themselves with your vacation experience. We remember very well what it was like to save all year for that one-week at the beach: It meant the world to us to find a lovely, well-stocked home, and now it's important to us that our guests have the very best experience.

Carol & Bud are not merely investment owners. Bud is on the Sunset Island Master Association's board of directors and is also a member of the condo board. Carol is on the Sunset Island's social committee. We love this place, and we are constantly striving to keep it wonderful. Our condos (we have two that we rent) are treated with loving care, and we constantly replenish and refresh to make sure your stay is perfect.

All condos on Sunset Island were created equally, but they've not been kept up equally. Whether you rent from me or not, please make sure the condo you choose is owned by people who care. I remember very well what it was like to save all year for that one week of vacation. It meant so much to my family to have a clean, well-maintained and well-equipped property. The few times we inadvertently rented an absentee investor's place, we were so disappointed. Ask questions! When was the last time it was painted? Are mattresses original or are they replaced when needed? Does the owner ever visit the property to make sure it's good to go? Are the photos of the condo current? I want you to have a great experience on Sunset Island, and that starts with you renting a lovely home.

This was our 6th year staying in OCMD and our 3rd year staying at Sunset Island. This condo was perfect for our group and we had everything we needed. The place was clean and free of any damage. Other years we had to call for repairs but this was great. We just wanted to thank Carol for letting us stay at your place and let you know that we had a great weekend! Thank you again!!

Sunset Island is the way to stay!

This was our first time visiting Ocean City and we did a lot of research before we decided to stay at Sunset Island. There are so many accomodation options when visiting a destination like OC, and you have to decide what your family or group is looking for. Our family likes to have nicer than average accomodations and options that we can choose from in the way of entertaining ourselves..Many of the beachfront hotels/condos offer the beach and a pool. Sunset Island offers the beach, a private beach, the bay, a BEAUTIFUL and huge pool, indoor pool, wonderful restaurant, poolside service, a fishing dock where you can crab, Wave Runner rentals, interactive fountains, safety to let your kids have some independance, outstanding staff, kind owners and a beautiful setting. We cannot imagine ever staying anywhere else now that we have experienced Sunset Island. The condo was beautifully decorated, more than comfortable, had a great kitchen and being only steps away from the Atlantic ocean, there is nothing we lacked for. We have visited many places, both domestic and international, and because of wonderful and exciting experience at Sunset Island and Ocean City, we will be making this an annual family vacation and we will ONLY stay at Sunset Island..

Wonderful Weekend .. even in the rain!

We had a wonderful time in September 2009! It rained but we made the best of it with the indoor pool, walks throughout the complex, on the beach and on the boardwalk! It was the perfect getaway for our family. The condo was super clean and Carol was extremely accommodating (even offered us another night since it was raining the entire time). We definitely recommend this place and we'll be back!

All the comforts of home. Even with the rain, we loved it! So much more to do here than just go to the beach. Celebrated 48th birthday and 22nd anniversary. Couldn't think of a nicer place to spend it. God bless!

The Most Amazing Weekend of Our Lives

This condo is so beautiful. It's even better than in the pictures and we love that the kitchen is so well stocked with all the cooking utensils. We love everything about Sunset Island - it's amazing. The pool was great. The beach was perfect. We had lots of fun there and, for nightlife, we had a lot of fun at Seacrets. Wow, this whole vacation has been amazing. Thank you so much for letting us stay in this condo. We plan to make this a yearly thing and we will be glad if we can book this with you again next year. Greetings from Baltimore! Thank you so much for the use of your home. It has been wonderful. We came down in place of a co-worker who had a family emergency. We were pleasantly surprised. Our boys loved having their own room with their bunkbeds. We gave my parents the master suite and we had the queen suite. We were all very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and gadgets. The boys loved the pool, fountain and the beach. All of the amenities (off-season) were wonderful. We hope to stay again. After staying here, it will be hard to stay anywhere else!

Best Vacation By Far

We vacation a lot and it has been the best vacation by far. This is a beautiful condo and it felt like taking our home with us. Carol has though of everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, and it was. The weather has been beautiful and the beach is gorgeous. Definitely coming back.

We Fell In Love With Sunset Island

We fell in love with Sunset Island from the first day we were here. The beach on the bay with the pool next to it was great. We loved that it was a gated community. We felt very safe. We plan to come back again soon.
