We had a wonderful stay! The condo was lovely, well maintained and every amenity promised was there. The hosts were very helpful and had connections to people who made our stay a delight. The pools were lovely and in very good condition. The ocean acess was very close to the condo. I definitely would stay at this condo again! Thank you.

Best Vacation Condo in Cozumel!!
We are returning to this wonderful place for the third time this fall. Ed and Laurie (the owners) are extremely responsive, personable and will go out of their way to make sure you have a great vacation. The condo is beautifully decorated with Island flavor and has a festive, relaxed atmosphere. The hand painted murals add a nice touch and the one of the reef at the lap pool has a lot of detail and artistry. The condo is very well equipped and has all of the comforts of home. There is everything you need for the beach from boogie boards to coolers and drink jugs. The deck is huge, filled with plants, teak furniture and a heated lap pool. We really enjoy the heated lap pool at the end of the day and into the evening. Relaxing in the warm water with a cocktail is very luxurious. We also enjoy our morning coffee watching the birds, lizards, grounds and ocean--a very relaxing way to start the day! Residencias Reef is a great complex. The proximity of the 2 resort pools and beach are all very close and everything is just so easy! The staff is friendly, attentive and available at any time to fill your needs. Karla is the house keeper, works 6 days per week and keeps the condo very spotless at all times. She is a young mother of two but does not speak English very well. We enjoyed communicating with her on Google translator and she brought her kids over one day to meet them. Miguel is the Manager (speaks English) and is also a dive master. We have been scuba diving with him several times at this point and have had a blast. He also arranged a fishing trip for us. The Island itself works very well for a condo or house rental. The town is safe, clean and there are plenty of good food options to choose from. Ed emailed us a food recommendation list which is new this year and we are looking forward to trying some of their suggestions.

Feedback from recent stay on March 20th, 2013
We arrived (wife, son and myself) at the condo on Saturday, March 23th for a five night stay. Our initial impression of the property was somewhat disappointing. Our biggest concerns were the following: 1) limited and worn towels (we later discovered a dryer full of wet towels went we went to do a load of wash), 2) worn bedding, 3) dishes in the cabinets that were not thoroughly cleaned, 4) a lock on one of the sliding glass doors that did not work, 5) plumbing that did not allow for the disposal of used toilet paper.
The outdoor facilities were nice in that the property had two well maintained pools and a relaxing beach area.
After consideration we decided to check out of the property after only staying for one night.

We are very proud of our home and the feed back we have received from our other guests and do our best to help provide a great vacation experience. We are very proud of our staff, Karla our house keeper, Miguel our Manager and the professional and friendly manor in which they conduct themselves. We are blessed to have them. The rest of our reviews say it all and we appreciate all of the kind words and recognition of our hard work. There is always room for improvement and we will continue to strive to help provide a positive experience for all of our guests.
To address your specific comments: There is an entire closet full of clean, fresh, relatively new linens and towels. We have enough for 8 guests at a time for 2 or 3 cycles. Yes there were damp towels in the dryer that needed a few more minutes to dry. There are six very large stack back glass doors on the patio and the one in the corner behind the television cabinet is permanently locked not broken. It is the door the others stack back to and when they are all open the inside becomes part of the outside. I have never been in another room with more exiting door options. To clarify, used toilet paper can go in the toilet. Paper towels, baby wipes and excessive amounts of toilet paper can not. We are very happy with the cleanliness of our condo thanks to the hard work of Karla and Miguel.
I sit on the veranda and look around and feel extremely lucky to own our little piece of paradise and Laurie and I have enjoyed sharing the experience with other people. We have met some wonderful people renting the condo in the past few years and have had fun sharing photos, stories and memories. We will continue to have great times in Cozumel at our Casa de Cielo and look forward to sharing our vacation home and the new friendships yet to happen.

Great place to stay. Owners are great to deal with.
This condo was perfect for us. We are sooooo glad that we left the resort. The place was clean, and well stocked for the two weeks we were there. The private lap pool was very nice addition. I can't wait to go back. We will never stay in a resort on the island again.

One of our best vacations for relaxation. The condo had all the amenities we needed for comfort as in the description. The unit was clean and the maid was thorough each time she came. One of the bonuses was the good view of the ocean right from the patio. There was a half flight of steps off the patio to walk to the ocean or other pools.
The customer service was very good. One of the air conditioners broke and it was repaired the next day. We did not rent a car, but depended on cab services. The on site manager, Miguel, did an excellent job connecting us with a dependable cab driver. He also arranged a fishing trip for us. Miguel made suggestions for activities that were going on and might be of interest to us, such as the Carnival parade.
The Residencia Reef condominiums were quiet and had well maintained grounds. There were always plenty of available seating on the beach or by the pools. You didn't have to reserve a chair/lounge. The beach area was quieter than any of the surrounding beaches.
The owner clearly described tipping expectations and offered restaurant menus. The internet signal was strong enough to Skype and the free phone was very convenient to reach the property manager as needed.
We definitely plan to return to this Condo and highly recommend it to anyone that wants a quiet, relaxing, low stress environment.

We just returned from a wonderful dive vacation. The diving was great from the condo, only steps away. The pools, beach and condo were beautiful. Had a few maintenance glitches, but all-in-all, a nice trip.

Great Stay!
This was the first non all inclusive experience for our family so we were a little reluctant at first to go this route. After staying at Resedencias Reef we are not sure we could ever go back to all inclusive. The condo is awesome and has everything you might need. The beach was fabulous and the pools very nice as well.
My son (12) and I dove with Miguel on a discover scuba type dive and it was fantastic-- we are both planning on getting certified back in the U.S. We saw a huge shark on our first dive and beautiful coral formations along with numerous fish.
We would highly recommend this condo and Cozumel for the ease of getting around. We did rent a car & probably spent more in insurance than we needed to but the peace of mind was nice-- if you can afford to, pay in Pesos as you will save money in the end.
We look forward to a return trip soon!

FANTASTIC in every way
This condo is MAGNIFICENT. Stayed for 25 days in Nov/Dec 2012 and would have stayed longer if it were available. It's corner location on the lower level allows for great views of the beach/water and excellent easy access to the grounds/facilities. The on porch pool is very convenient. Although it has great A/C, I found opening all three sets of sliding doors opened the main living area/kitchen up to wonderful breeze from the sea and made you a part of the outdoors. Nicely furnished and wonderfully decorated (the multiple wall paintings...wow...very nice). This condo has adequate WiFi and even has a computer with magic jack for calls to US/Canada. The two on-site pools wonderful as well though for sunning/swimming. The beach is nice with lots of entertaining water traffic going by. Location next to the (now Secrets) resort with pier for diving/snorkeling/activity boats is AWESOME...VERY CONVENIENT.
Road from town to this condo complex is very good and it's only about 10 minutes to/from town.
I must say we had superb personalized service from Miguel the condo caretaker and dive master.
Would recommend for anyone and would most certainly return to this complex/condo.

The Best Condo on Cozumel
This is one of the best rental properties on the island of Cozumel. Do not hesitate to book it – you will have a fantastic vacation!
Here are a few of the many wonderful things to say about Ed and Laurie’s Residencias Reef condo:
1) The Condo is beautifully decorated and impeccably maintained. The layout is spacious and the deck is amazing. We peeked at several other units and this one was MUCH nicer in terms of location, value and quality. Ed and Laurie have generously provided everything you could think of from beach towels to sunscreen to coolers.
2) The Residencias Reef condo complex is by far the nicest on the Island. There are two fantastic pools and an amazing beachfront area within steps from your patio. We were there during a busier time (during the Ironman) and nothing ever felt crowded. The on-site staff was exceptional and the grounds were impeccable.
Several reviews say that this not a great swimming or snorkeling beach but our family had a great time with both. On calm days we snorkeled around the area for hours.
The porch also has an amazing ocean view which may not be clear from the pictures.
3) The condo is located far enough away from the really touristy areas to feel like an oasis yet close enough to zip into town (15 minutes with traffic) for fresh pastries in the morning or dinner in the evening.
4) They have dedicated staff that lives in the area and area are ready to deal with ANY issue promptly and politely.
