The Windy Bear Lodge was Awesome!!!

We stayed at the Windy Bear Lodge July 13-16th.
Our weekend Getaway. Anniversary/Tough Mudder and great friends.
Very close to Mt. Snow.13min.
The Windy Bear Lodge was exactly as described on the listing.
6 of us were in the home and you can fit 8-12.
In the sitting area upstairs were 2 futons.
The basement/ rec room had 2 twin beds.
It was very spacious and beautiful and updated. I love to grill and the grill was nice and hot. We enjoyed having dinner on the beautiful deck in the gazebo.
We had Free Wi Fi and had no problem with At & T cell service in certain areas of the home.
We look forward to staying again. We will recommend the Windy Bear Lodge to our Friends.

We had a great time staying at the Windy Bear Lodge. The pictures don't do justice to the size of the home. Plenty of space and everything is in great condition. My wife liked the outdoor grille better than ours at home.
We stayed for our anniversary and also to attend the Tough Mudder. 3 couples in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. The screened in eating area on the deck allowed us to eat outdoors without being bothered by the local bug population. The weather this weekend could not have been better. Sunny and high 80's.
Dealing with the owners was a pleasure too. They provided everything they promised and more. They were quick to get back to us after our stay and release our deposit. No hassles at all. I certainly would stay at the Windy Bear again.

Enjoyed Windy Bear Lodge

After a day at Mount Snow we were delighted to be staying at Windy Bear Lodge. It was close by, clean, comfortable, very spacious , well-equiped, and fun. We especially enjoyed playing pool - a good family activity, and the slot machines.

Our family shared the Windy Bear Lodge for a few days over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the spacious accomodations with the terrific game room (and variety of games in the closet) it entertained young and old.

Fun Times @ Windy Bear Lodge

Spent a weekend up at the Windy Bear Lodge with my wife and four kids. Had a great time. Although weather was not 100% cooperative, we still got some end of season skiing in.
The house was very comfortable, clean and very well-equipped. You can tell the owners Matt & Vilma really take care of the place. It was nicely decorated and homey. The kids really enjoyed the rec room with the pool table. Could not have asked for nice accommodations.

Great getaway spot for all ages!

We wanted to getaway for a couple days and get the kids on skis for the first time. Location couldn't be better. Minutes from Mount Snow and Stratton. My kids are 5 and 3 and they had a blast. Very kid friendly home with many games, a game room, sleds and just plain space to run and play. We plan to visit again!!!

A wonderful house!

I just got back from a great week at this house. It is huge, gorgeous and brand new. The master suite gave us plenty of room away from the kids. And there are 3 living rooms! The grill is super high power deluxe model as is the stove. The kitchen/dining area is enormous. The jacuzzi was great (a bit small for 2 but great for 1) The sliders out to the deck from the master bedroom are a nice feature. There's a little country store a mile from the house and a nice bigger country store 4 miles away in Wardsboro. You have to drive to get to a park or lake, but the house itself it wonderful. My son loved the pool table and slot machines in the basement. Definitely a great deal.

Thanksgiving 2008 in a beautiful home

Had an amazing time at the Windy Bear Lodge for Thanksgiving 2008. Me and my friends are all interns from England working in New York for a year and wanted a traditional Thanksgiving experience - we were not disappointed! The setting was idylic and the house was far beyond what we expected - the photos do not do it justice! Come the end of our 4 night stay none of us wanted to leave and wish we had booked for one more night. Was close to ski slopes, but still in a private location. The layout and spacious open floor plan lent itself very well to our large group as we were not tripping over each other all weekend. Would more than recommend this house to anyone, whatever the ocassion for your trip.

Very spacious and gracious!

Stayed in February of 2008 and this home is very roomy and a great place for kids. The fireplace clicks on and is ideal when the snow falls. Close enough to Mount Snow and very quiet yet not too isolated.
New and clean and we are ready to come back!

Beautiful home, beautiful location

This house was not only beautiful but in a private, gorgeous location! Our large family was very comfortable and it felt like home! It was new, clean and spacious. We would definately recommend this home to families and anyone looking to experience a true Vermont atmosphere!
