My husband and I spent 10 days at "Solitude" with our daughter, son-in-law and 3 granddaughters aged 5 through 14. There was plenty of space for all of us and never once did we feel cramped. The view from the lanai was incredible and that is where we spent 90% of our time when we were there. In my opinion it is more spacious then it appears in the pictures and Denise has it well stocked with towels, boogie boards, swim masks, flippers, ice chest etc. The 3 pools were very nice, perfect temperature and there was never more than 1 or 2 other families there at the same time which made our time at the pool very peaceful and relaxing.. It is within walking distance to shopping, the Sheraton, secret cove, and the farmers market among other places. Denise sent us all sorts of information before our arrival listing mulitple activities in the area, places to see and things to do which was very helpful. I would like to recommend 2 activities that made our visit unforgettable. You must take the time to do a night time snorkel or dive with the Manta Rays. We chose to go with Manta Ray dive of Hawaii and booked our trip through Snorkel Bobs. We got on the boat at the harbor, spent about 20 minutes getting to our destination and in that time we were told what to expect while out on the water and given light snacks. All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE. We ended up watching 11 Manta Rays (one of which was 14 feet across!!) swim and dance all around us for about 40 minutes and at some points they swam within 1 inch or less from us. It was very safe and easy, as a matter of fact our 5 year old granddaughter who cannot swim had no problem. They had a wet suit for her plus a life jacket and they made sure to keep track of us at all times. The other place you should go is "Place of Refuge" (also called 2 step) it is a 30 minute drive north/east. It is a wonderful place to snorkel or dive and we were able to swim with more than 30 spinner dolphins (at one point we counted 21 beneath us) and many sea turtles. It is a protected dophin resting area and it is illegal to swim after them, touch or harass them. We went there 5 times and they only showed up on one of those days but if you are lucky enough to be there when they are, it is something you will never forget. Even without the dolphins I thought it was the best area to see the greatest variety of fish. We saw Eagle Rays, eels, puffers, clown, yellow needle fish, tangs, Angel fish etc. Tbank-you Denise!!
