Great Family Vacation at Topsail

Suz79 Weaverville, NC 28787
Review Submitted: April 29, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
We had a wonderful time. Your townhouse was very nice and very clean. Thanks for providing the play yard and highchair! We loved the location and the view. It was nice that the beach was pretty much empty so our 3 year old could run and play all he wanted. Everyone had so much fun that we are thinking about Topsail as our vacation spot for next year too!
Owner's Response: Amanda,
We are glad to hear that you and your family had a good time. Please contact us again if your future vacation plans include a trip to the North Carolina coast!

Sincerely,

Paul and Cheryl Diehl

Wonderful Family Home away from home

laulau1609 Raleigh, NC
Review Submitted: June 4, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
I booked this condo as a birthday present for my husband, we also have 3 young kids so I needed a house, not a hotel room. This lovely beach condo was more than I could have asked for. From the moment we arrived the kids were happy and we were too! The owners have thought of everything that you could need while away, it is beautifully decorated, and the kids loved hanging out on the decks at night watching the waves! The beach is a short 3 minute walk and even though we were there on Memorial Day weekend it felt like we had the beach to ourselves. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and the menus left in the kitchen were a big help! We will be back again for sure! Thanks Paul and Cheryl for having a great family friendly and affordable vacation home!

Weekend getaway

Ohio grandma Cleveland, Ohio
Review Submitted: January 28, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
I flew to NC for the weekend to visit my daughter and grandkids, and decided at the last minute to check the internet for rentals, rather than stay in a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find this condo, which was competitive with hotels as far as price, but with so much more to offer. The accomodations were clean, bright, spacious and had everything I needed for the weekend. The kitchen is complete with all supplies and appliances needed. A nice perk is that linens are provided, which is unusual for vacation rentals. And thank you, Paul, for reacting so quickly when I contacted you at the last minute! I had a great time visiting with the family, and will make this property my rental of choice when I fly down each year.

A Perfect Beach House Vacation Spot!

Navy Corpsman Mom California
Review Submitted: November 19, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
Where do I start? There are so many great things to say about this beach rental condo I won't have enough room for it all! We stayed for 9 days and loved every minute of it. Our son, who is stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, recommended that we stay here at 201 Shipwatch. It was so close to everything that we wanted to do or see. Eating at "Georges" and touring the USS North Carolina in Wilmington, having lunch at "Ricks" in Sneads Ferry, to taking the ferry boat over to Shackleford Banks in Beaufort to see the wild horses! We were so happy to see where our son lives, and to see his part of the world. The condo was so warm and cozy. It was alot colder in NC than what my husband and I are used to here in California. However, that just made it much more fun to drink coffee on the living room deck, and/or play board games with our son and his fiance. Thank goodness for the humidity! It made it warmer for me.... I liked that! The condo stayed very comfortable and we didn't need to run the heater or the AC. It was perfect!! We even got to witness the heavy NC thunder storms!! Yay!!
The condo is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to make a nice home-cooked meal. The supermarket is only 10 minutes away in Sneads Ferry. I also have to say that the owners Paul and Cheryl are very easy to deal with. No problems what so ever!! If we ever head back to NC, we are booking this beach condo again! Thanks Paul and Cheryl for making our stay in NC a wonderful experience!!!

Relaxing Retreat

Review Submitted: October 21, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We really enjoyed our stay here. This was the perfect place for my son to relax and recharge after a long & stressful tour abroad. Property close enough to Camp Legeune so he could commute and wrap up business on base. All the comforts of home by the seaside and away from the hustle and bustle of town. Highly recommend & would love to come back again.

Wonderfully quiet off season week!

Susan & Dave Texas
Review Submitted: October 13, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We chose this townhouse rental based on the previous reviews for a week to greet our son returning from Iraq and for a little post Hurricane Ike getaway.

The townhouse truly has everything you could possibly need. We packed lighter than usual knowing there was a washer and dryer. The townhouse is clean, bright and very comfortable.

The back upper deck overlooks the pool and the ocean. Always a great view from the living room area.

The beach is just a stroll away through the townhouse grounds. Beach chairs, umbrella and all kinds of goodies are available in the shed.

Off season is very quiet and peaceful. Take a jaunt to Wilmington for restaurants, shops, and touristy stuff.

Would I rent this townhouse again or recommend it to others? You bet!

The owners are gracious and very accommodating. Couldn't have asked for better communication!

Restaurant recommendations:
Rick's in Sneads Ferry or Daddy Mac's in Surf City for dinner. The locals told us the food quality at Rick's is dependable in the off season when there aren't a million tourists trying to get in. Great atmosphere and lively even on a week night during off season.

201Shipwatch Condo

Drazen, Maria and family Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Review Submitted: August 17, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
What a lovely townhome, absolutely beautiful beach. The ocean temperature is perfect, and the kids had a blast playing in the waves. The townhome is beautifully decorated, with a real "beach home" theme. The photos cannot possibly show just how pretty it is. The condo has just about everything you would require to live comfortably. We had a very hot first week, and yes, due to the skylights it can get warm upstairs, especially since we cooked just about every night. Just keep the fans whirling, this helps. If you want more action, you would have to leave the area as it is truly a "beach" holiday. However, the beach is so perfect for day and evening strolls, that we couldn't have asked for better. We will recommend to friends North Topsail Beach and your home. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Relaxing & fun vacation spot

Review Submitted: August 15, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Our family of 5 had a very relaxing vacation on North Topsail Beach. The owners were very responsive and the property just as described, with many "extras" available that made the stay enjoyable for the adults and the kids. We enjoyed the seafood restaurants in Surf City and the fresh shrimp from the "farmers market. There were a couple of small markets within a couple of miles of the property that had most necessities - including adult beverages! The properties proximity to Wilmington made for a nice day trip mid-week and offered many activities and restaurants for our family. The property was quiet, clean, well maintained, and immediately felt like home away from home. The beach was very nice with more open space than any other beach rental we've had in the past. The pace of the location lent itself to relaxing - not the tiresome traffic of some of the more well-known beach fronts in NC. We brought back many fond memories and had so much fun with so many aspects of the trip. I would heartily recommend this property to a friend, the best recommendation I can provide!!!

Relaxing Vacation

great scot ohio
Review Submitted: July 14, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Our family of 5 had a wonderful week at Topsail. The condo has a great location and easy access to a nice, uncrowded beach and large community pool. The owners were great to work with. The kitchen is large and well stocked and we ate in most nights. All of our needs were met, though 3 kids is the most you would want to fit because of the small 2nd bedroom. The only complaint is the skylights make the upstairs stuffy and the A/C can't keep up. North Topsail is quiet and residential, we took trips to Wilmington and Jacksonville for food and entertainment. We will be going back next year!
