We were only there for a short time, but it was perfect! The house, the boat, the lake and all the other activities in the area make for a great vacation. Next year, we do a week!!!

Great location, setting

Location of the house was perfect for us-in a fairly secluded area on a beautiful lake yet only about 15 minutes by car from the heart of Traverse City. The views from the den and porch are magnificent. The house is clean and well maintained. The boat and kayak are great.
We would rent this house again.

Clean and beautiful cottage

nice family getaway Windsor, Ontario
Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This was the cleanest and most comfortable cottage I've rented. The beds and furniture were extremely comfortable and very modern. The views were amazing and the sandy beached lake was great. There was so much to do in the Traverse City area that one week is almost not enough. The only thing missing was a fire pit, but the TV with the theatre sound system made up for it.

Great Traverse City experience

We spent a week at Pinewood Shores this Summer, after having a bad experience at another cottage last Summer. It was the polar opposite of last year. The cottage is clean, nicely furnished, and well maintained. The views from most of the rooms are spectacular. The lake has a sandy bottom, and the water is crystal clear (although it was too cool during our stay to actually get in).

Pinewood Shores is close to everything that Traverse City has to offer. We especially enjoyed the shops downtown, the wineries, the casinos, and the live bands at the Holiday Inn in the afternoon.

The owners are very gracious, and they bend over backwards to make sure that their guests have a good experience. We hope to spend a lot more time at Pinewood Shores in the future.

We just spent a week at Pinewood Shores. Every day of our vacation was perfect. Your home is perfect - so clean and well cared for. The home was very well stocked with everything we needed for the week. The people in the area are some of the friendliest people we have ever met! The surroundings are great - you can lay by the lake all day, go fishing, kayayking, hiking or go sightseeing and return to the lake int the evening and enjoy the view. It was nice to be so close to so many attractions. Sleepy Bear Dunes was a great trip - with lunch at Arts Tavern in Glen Harbor and then shopping at Cherry Republic (best place to buy gifts to take home) then back home in time to order in pizza from Peegeo's!! Thank you again - we will be returning soon.

best beach in the area

I have rented on Spider lake five times, this house has the nicest beach of all the houses. Some of Spider Lake's bays were used for logging, they are not one you would like to swim in. This house has a sand bottom, no debris, and is great for kids.

I look forward to our return this summer for another week

Great place to vacation!!!

Pinewood Shores' cottage is a great place to vacation. The cottage is nestled in a hill that overlooks the lake with a clear view of the island. The cottage is exceptionally clean with a full stocked kitchen and two grills for outdoor cooking, no need to bring anything with you. The beds are comfortable and very clean. The living room overlooks the lake, great view, with a very comfortable sofa and love seat with a flat screen TV with surround sound. Spider Lake is a sand bottom lake with shallow beaches and usually warms up by early June. The cottage has a sand bottom beach great for swimming and great for children. The bay Pinewood Shores' is located has a deep channel that runs parallel to the shore, about 30 feet out that offers great fishing right from the dock.
I have rented homes on Spider Lake in the past, this home is by far is the best of all of them.

Great House

Review Submitted: December 18, 2007 Date of Stay: September 2007
Stayed with a group of people for a weekend, close to Traverse City and all it's attractions. Great house to stay for a weekend or week with friends and/or family. Plenty of room and well-maintained.
Owner's Response: Thanks very much for taking the time to let us know that you enjoyed your stay. We hope you'll come again.

Thanks,
Kathy and Steve

We very much enjoyed our visit to this home. The view from the living room/game room was spectacular! We enjoyed the boat, which ran great. We had a great time exploring the lake. The house had all of the things we needed including a very comfortable king size bed. Also the house is close to Traverse City so we enjoyed both woods and lake but still had the shopping and restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful relaxing vacation!
