Pemaquid House Rental Photos and Description
4 Bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 8

Imagine a week or two in our 19th century cape which sits looking out over fields to the tip of the Pemaquid River, just 3 miles from New Harbor, Maine. Recently renovated with updated plumbing, fresh paint throughout, new and tasteful furnishings and 2 new bathrooms. PLUS new for the summer of 2014, a totally new kitchen ell. It will have new appliances, soapstone countertops with barstools, gas range and a comfortable family area with small gas fireplace. (Photo's to be posted in May.) Relaxing in the midst of aesthetic details - wide-plank floors, beadboard paneling in bathrooms, fireplace and a hand carved wood railing to the second floor - add to the charm and ease-of-living in this home.

The new sun room has been completed with views of the Pemaquid River and now offers another area for dining. The master bedroom holds a queen size bed on the main level and living room with a dining ell are also on the first floor. Two bedrooms upstairs, with a connected small room that serves as a fourth bedroom, known as the treehouse room, makes this house flexible and comfortable. Nearby swimming is at Pemaquid Beach or the Bristol Mills swimming hole. Take the boat out to Monhegan Island from New Harbor!

Pemaquid Beach: White sandy beach. Quaint with wonderful views, snack bar and bathroom facilities.

Pemaquid Light House: Complete the tour and understand the importance of the lighthouses along the coast of Maine. A snackbar/restaurant is located there for your convenience.

Moneghan Island : Take the ferry out of New Harbor and explore the artist's community of Moneghan Island on foot.

Darmariscotta: Traditional New England town on the Damariscotta River. Wonderful restaurants, bookstore, art galleries, stores, and theatre.

Christmas Cove: A quintessential Maine summer community with restaurant, spectacular views and a swinging drawbridge.

Damariscotta River Association: Provides wonderful trails for walking along the Pemaquid Peninsula in Bristol and South Bristol. We have a wonderful book listing all of the locations.

We continue to have repeat renters that have been coming to our home for 2-3 years. We believe this is a testament in of itself. Come enjoy a home to relax in, slow down your pace and discover the simple pleasures of Maine.

Perfect Family Vacation Spot

We stayed in this simply lovely cape in July 2009. The property was clean and well cared for and very comfortable for our family with 3 small children, a babysitter, and 2 other friends. Nice yard for the children to run in, plenty of games and toys, spacious. Laurel and Luke were delightful owners and it was easy to get in touch with them while planning the vacation and when we were there. We loved Pemaquid beach - excellent family spot with a well groomed beach, toys/beach chairs/umbrellas to rent and snack bar too. Not too far for a day trip to Freeport for some outlet shopping. Spent some time strolling in Damariscotta too - sweet town. After a week, we only wished our vacation was longer! One of the best we've ever had. We hope to return in summer 2010.

My family stayed at this house recently and had the most wonderful vacation. It is close to all the wonderful places in Pemaquid and Bristol. It has all the extra things you need when traveling with little ones and was large enough for everyone to have a bit of space. Very much recommed this house for a family vacation.

We had a very nice time at the house in Pemaquid. It's very close to all of the Pemaquid attractions, and has a great view. The house is in very good condition, but still has all the charm of an older house. We would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to vacation in this region of Maine.
