Perfect

This was a wonderful place to stay. We spent hours on the rocks exploring. When tide was out there are pools left behind that are great to watch. Also the sunrise was spectacular. You had to get up early, but it was worth it. Watching the lobster boats pick up traps was a treat. There is a lot to do near by. Home made Ice cream, a cove to catch crabs, fishing, antiques, lighthouse, wonderful eating, etc. Was not far of a drive from Portland and the best part is if you want some peace and quite this was the place to go. The house itself was new, non smoking and no pets have ever been there. We so enjoyed our time here.

A Home Away From Home

bh2003 Norway
Review Submitted: November 18, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We (a couple) stayed at Suite Thyme for two weeks in October and loved everything about the house and the neighbourhood. Marilyn and John take great pride in the property and we found everything we needed, including some unexpected comforts and kitchen appliances. The house feels like it is really out of the way, but the nearby grocery store and small towns within kilometres provided everything we needed for supplies and diversion. We spent most mornings watching the sunrise on the rocks just metres from the house. There are wonderful walking tours, some great restaurants, and lovely people. We walked around to look at some of the other cabins in the area and they were no match for the location, quality and comforts of Suite Thyme. You won't be disappointed.

I Can't Wait To Go Back!!!

Fall asleep to the ocean's crashing waves, wake up to see the lobster boats checking their traps, spend the days exploring the quaint towns or sitting on the ocean front rocks... we had a fantastic time!

"Suite-Thyme" Carrage house is spotless, clean and equipped with everything to make you feel at home. Our Host and Hostess were wonderful and have done a fantastic job putting this get-a-way property together for a wonderful vacation. We found the property to be a GREAT value for the location, views and comfort.

I would love to include some of the amazing pictures I took while here, but I don't see a spot that allows for that. If you like to take walks, you can walk towards town, and you will see a trail on your right with a large bolder at the entrance to stop cars, it leads down over a tiny bridge and then a larger walking bridge that goes over to "Back Cove", a great spot to get some great pictures!!!

I recommend "Shaws" where the movie "Message in a Bottle" was filmed, a great way to see the lobsterman bringing in their "wicked" catch and talk with some locals.

Food at King Iders in Damariscotta is really good, and if you are looking for upscale dining, go to the Bradly Inn. On our last day we disovered a really neat store where you can purchase gormet foods, and they have a large wine selection! It is located behind King Iders.

Can't wait to go back!

Quintessential Maine Location

Corgie Pomfret,CT,New England,USA
Review Submitted: August 13, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We were looking for a cottage with the quintessential Maine view of waves crashing into rocks . Suite Thyme was just exactly what we were hoping for and more. The view is perfect, the location very convenient for groceries, good places to eat, and lovely walks. The owners have written extensive notes that gave us all the information we wanted and then some. There are also guide books and maps to help you plan your day.

The cottage is immaculate, cheerful , comfortable, and peaceful. The grounds are lovely . A fine selection of good pots and pans as well as excellent appliances make cooking very easy. We were even able to use the wireless with our laptop. There is a good selection of books and games. The owners live on the property and were friendly and very helpful without being intrusive.
We enjoyed going to The Gull Shop at Pemaquid where we had have a delicious snack while looking at the lighthouse and the sea.
Suite Thyme is a cottage I would recommend to friends and indeed I have already done just that! We will certainly be renting it in the future.

Breathtaking and Relaxing

If you love the coast of Maine, then this little gem of a cottage is wonderful getaway location. The cottage and grounds are well-maintained, the owners are very nice and the lobsters are the best ( be sure to try the Pemaquid Co-op, a hidden gem ).

My wife and I have been coming to New Harbor for the past six summers, but this was our first stay at the Carriage House and we hope it won't be the last. The neighboring towns of Camden and Boothbay provide wonderful shopping and be sure to visit Monhegan Island for the hiking and the scenery

We highly recommend this location.

Wonderful experience!

Wow, just as it said in description. The homeowners were fantastic. Marilyn and John provided a book with recommendations for the area. That was a real life saver, since we have never been East and were not familiar with the area. We would have never found these places on our own. John also helped my husband with possible fishing spots. The property was in "top' condition and just as it is described and pictured. We would definitely like to come back a little later in the season. Della at Pemaquid Harbor Restaurant was fantastic. I couldn't believe how nice the people in the area were. It was a great experience!

I would recommend this property to anyone. It is well set out and maintained, it has all the things you need and more. The owners are fantastic and make you very welcome. I can recommend going to the local store ‘Riley’s’ and just generally enjoying the local area. Waking up to a view of the sea is just great. The whole family enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage.
Owner's Response: Dear John, Julie, Frances, and Helena,

We are thrilled that your family had such a wonderful vacation at Suite Thyme Carriage House. It was delightful meeting you all and we hope you'll come back next year!

Charming Retreat!

Family from NY Dutchess County, NY
Review Submitted: July 8, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We were thrilled to find everything the photographs promised--and more, beginning with homemade brownies upon our arrival, absolutely spotless cottage, and a kitchen equipped with everything we could imagine. The cottage is right on the ocean, complete with spectacular sights and sounds. The waves and the gulls and the scent of salt air were just enchanting. There were enough activities for our family of four to fill a week, even with our eclectic tastes. There is hiking, kayaking, cruises from New Harbor (We loved Monhegan Island!), day trips to the more touristy Boothbay Harbor or antique shopping in Wiscasset, crabbing, and adequate golfing at a nearby 9-hole course. Our hosts provided a book with suggestions for restaurants and recreation, all of which lived up to our hopes and expectations. We simply loved it!
