A team of research scientists and educators stayed here for 2 weeks while studying the Aurora. This house well exceeded our expectations as did Norman - He was great! Every time we had a question he was quick to reply and he was very attentive the whole time we were there. The pictures do not to it justice - the house is gorgeous. We hope to come back next year and would stay here again without hesitation. Its close to everything in Fairbanks and the view is phenomenal!

We recently spent 4 nights in this beautiful log cabin while on a month-long tour of Alaska with two other couples. This accommodation was by far the best of our trip and one of the best in our many years of travel. The house is superb, especially the antique quilts, dishes and furniture, which we were privileged to have access to during our stay. If you are going to Fairbanks, don't miss the chance to stay in this wonderul house.

My husband and I joined two other couples in Fairbanks for a wedding this summer, and were so very pleased to rent Fjell Blikk Hytte ("Mountain View Lodge"). Norman, the owner, is helpful and knowledgeable about the area. My friends and I felt so at ease and had such a wonderful time that we didn't want to leave and go home!

What a wonderful place to stay while visiting Fairbanks. The log cabin and its furnishing are like a museum. We had a great stay and Norman was very helpful with information on different things to see and do in the area. Don't miss the Saturday morning Farmer's Market. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO rentals and this was one of the best!

My husband and I stayed in both Fjell Blikk Hytte houses: the main log house called ‘Fjell’, and the guest house, called ‘Knoll’. Both places were beautiful and very well kept. Lovely views. Beautiful interiors. Close to town and lots of sites. Very roomy. We hope to go back and take more of our family. Nothing around there like these!

I’ve stayed in both houses at Fjell Blikk Hytte in Fairbanks, AK (there's the main log house called ‘Fjell’,and a guest house, called ‘Knoll)’ - I can say without hesitation that both are wonderful. In my opinion, they set the standard for all other vacation rentals in terms of architectural beauty, spectacular views, and lovely furnishings.

In addition they are immaculately kept, and well stocked for guests. They both lend themselves to entertaining large groups for parties or special events, but they also feel very cozy and private for more intimate occasions. And there are amazing things to look at in each house: wonderful antique quilts, 19th century rustic pottery, an 18th century English dresser, a vintage toaster collection, and much more. I loved these houses!

PS: I just read the review below, and I have to say we had the opposite experience. We were there for 2 weeks, and 'wanted' to talk with the owner about one of the antiques, but he was never around (found out that he's the director of the Ballet company in Fairbanks) We had to leave him a note to set up a time to talk with him.

First of all, let's be clear. There are in fact 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. However, those bedrooms and bathrooms are split amongst the 2 homes.

The gem of the 2 homes only has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Not to mention that Norman (the caretaker) lives downstairs (not disclosed until we after we made our reservations) and isn't adverse to walking up the interior stairs into your living area unannounced and without knocking. Not cool. Seems like a nice man, though. Still . . .

The 2nd house is a short walk down the road and has 4 bedrooms, each with a bath. Unfortunately, or fortunately if you are mobility impaired, the downstairs shower contains the toilet as well and has a drainage problem. This house is also prone to running out of water. The other house only ran out of hot water.

The views were beautiful . . . but you've been warned.
