Great week at the beach

If you are looking for a somewhat quieter beach vacation than Myrtle Beach, this is the place for you. Our family of four spent a week here and had a great time. The villa has plenty of room for everyone with a well-equipped kitchen for cooking meals when you don’t feel like going out. Roadside produce stands provided fresh homegrown fruits and vegetables (peaches, corn, tomatoes, blueberries etc.). If you enjoy Thai food, we had a superb meal at the Blue Elephant in Murrells Inlet. There are only a dozen tables, so call for reservations and its cash/check only—no credit cards. We took a morning trip to Georgetown, 15 minutes south of Pawleys, strolled their waterfront shops and art galleries and had lunch at the historic Thomas Café (order the crabcakes!). Pawleys Island beach is a short drive over a causeway with plenty of public access and was not very crowded. We also spent one day on the sands at Huntington Beach State Park, about 15 minutes up the road. On the advice of the ranger we headed for the north end of the beach; the walk from the parking lot is a little longer than the south beach but we practically had the place to ourselves! There are plenty of beach chairs on hand at the villa and a large beach umbrella. At the end of the day, we parents relaxed out on the screen porch with a glass of wine. It’s a lovely home, very clean, and we would definitely recommend it to others. Thanks Jim for a great beach getaway!
Owner's Response: Thanks, for your kind comments about our home. You have a nack for finding the most relaxing spots. There are dozens of restrurants but thanks pointing out one of the good ones. I hope you come back and explorer more of what the area has to offer. Even though I've been going there for 12 years - nice people like you always point out places I've never been too. This Info keeps my trips there new and interesting.
Jim
