This was my first time renting. I have to say I was nervous- but Russ was very nice and informative. The location of the house was great. We didnt need the car. There was so much to do and we felt we didnt have a enough time. The house was wonderful and cozy. My boys loved being near the miniture golf. Which gave us a break during dinner. The boys are 14 and 11 and were able to go on their own. The backyard was wonderful and we all loved the outdoor shower! I also have a 9month old and the house was quiet and he slept thru the nite. The front porch and its breezes was great, we sat out too late. I love seeing the old photos and the love that was put into it. Worth the stay!!! Thanks Russ

On our yearly vacation we enjoy fishing and close proximity to the beach. We usually stay in the front room near the street and have little noise. Our friends stay upstairs in the attic and do not find it an inconvenience with others they stay with. WE like the size of the kitchen for the amount of people it can fit at any given time. The new furniture was very nice and comfy. We spend a lot of time on the front porch and back decks. WE like the close proximity to the beach and shopping (much to do for all, including mini golf). We will continue to go for years to come! :)

This was our 1st time renting and everything was great. The location is ideal, especially with small children. We did not have to drive anywhere! The backyard is private and the kitchen is large and comfy. We had a great beach vacation.

Pictures of this historic home does not do it justice! There is a claw footed tub in the full bath, water pressure is great, outdoor shower much nicer than any outdoor shower I have been in, furniture is authentic to the 100+ year old home. Location could not have been better. Rooms are much larger and nicer than shown. I parked my car on Saturday 2pm and did not get in my car until the following Sat at 10 am. I for once felt comfortable in a beach house. Wrap around porch was a dream. My family walked to Bay Village every day, beach is just a couple of short blocks, there is a park for the kids between the house and the beach. There is something for everyone and if its not within walking distance you don't need it. I cannot wait until next year!! The owner was personable and very easy to deal with, I wish every vacation could be this easy. Thank you Russ and I will be in touch for next year.

I'll start by saying that I would be surprised if there are any repeat renters of this property. The ad does nothing to warn you of the many inconveniences that we discovered during our stay that we cut short after 4 nights due to our discomfort.

First, the ad does not mention the very busy street that the house is so close to. It does not mention the mini golf that is nearly next door. It was difficult to sit on the porch in the evening without being interrupted by rowdy screams from the mini golf. We also were unaware that the house looked out at the back parking lot of a grocery store where large, loud trucks would arrive starting in the early morning hours.

We were not told of the very steep (and dangerous for small children) stairs that led up to the attic, nor the low ceilings of the attic which made it very difficult for an adult to tend to the children who were sleeping there. The pillows and blankets appeared quite unclean to the point that we did not feel comfortable using them.

We were unaware of the fact that there would be nowhere for us to sit and watch a tv with any comfort. The tv was really only visible from the barstools at the kitchen breakfast bar. With several small children, this was a great inconvenience and one we definitely should have been warned of. We were unable to get the tvs in the bedroom to work for anything but dvds.

I assumed upon renting this property that there would be an option to shower somewhere other than outdoors. The indoor shower in the bathtub was a terrible experience. The curtains were not properly waterproofed which made it nearly impossible to access soap, etc without water dripping out of the tub. I'll also mention the sand in the tub upon our arrival which brings the cleanliness of the property into question.

The furniture felt old and dingy and questionably unclean. The kitchen was cluttered with food and belongings which made us wonder if we were even supposed to be there. The refrigerator had several food items in it beyond condiments including an entire casserole when we arrived, and the freezer was filthy. The entire house felt and looked rather unclean. I question if there was a professional cleaning service even used prior to our arrival. If there was the owner may want to consider a different service because we felt compelled to spend an hour cleaning the place before we even tried to settle in.

We had a wonderful time and found the house to be really charming. The wrap around porch was great for hanging out with friends who visited. The hydrangeas and landscaping were beautiful and the outside shower was really nice. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. As far as the previous review, most people don't go the the shore to watch TV! With such a beautiful wrap around porch with great breezes, it's wonderful to sit outside and talk to friends and family. The upstairs bedroom was great for my teenage daughter and her friends. They really enjoyed having their own slumber area! The location is great for teenagers, as they can walk everywhere that they like to go (Fantasy Island, Ice Cream stores, shopping, mini-golf). In addition, restaurants are within walking distance and the food market is right across the street. Russ, the owner, is very gracious and I found the home to be thoughtfully equipped. There were plenty of blankets, spices, paper products and even beach chairs and badges. Staying here was a real pleasure!
