Paradise Found!

Review Submitted: October 11, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
My friend and I were fortunate enough to spend a week here. I don't think 2 people could have had higher hopes for the perfect vacation and we were not disappointed. The hosts, Pa and Kent, live next door so Kent was there to meet us as soon as we arrived ( don't worry about privacy, they never came over unless called and the backyard is totally secluded). He gave us a tour of the house. I was impressed to find it well supplied. Seriously, don't shop until you see it. Some of the things we found- shampoo, conditioners, soaps at each sink, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, garbage bags, cleaning and dishwashing supplies, cooking spray, spices, brownie mix, microwave popcorn, ice cream bars, basic condiments, garlic bread, and even a few sodas and beers. Although none of this is guarenteed I am confident you will find a lot of the same. I am sure this saved us at least $50. Although we had had plans to eat out most meals and knew the online menus by heart we only ate dinner out once. The kitchen ( which the pictures don't do justice to- it is huge) was stocked with everything we needed . The grill was clean and easy to use. Kent oriented us on how to work everything . There was a roomy garage to park with remote so we never even used the front door . The house itself is absolutely meticulous. Every first paper towel, kleenex and toilet paper were even folded into a nice triangle like you find in only the nicest of hotels. The MBR has private bath with large walk in shower. Both of the larger bedrooms had sliders opening to the pool. The entire back of the house is basically all glass and sliders looking out onto the highlight of the house-- the gorgeous pool. There is a waterfall and a built in bench most of the way around the pool. Beautiful automatic landscape and pool lighting. Outdoor shower. Plenty of pool toys, floats, a pump, coolers , beach chairs, and a few fishing rods. I have stayed in many rentals including 3 others on the island, and most do what they need to to "get by", this house was totally different. Every extra detail was thought of. Where one house might have a table to eat on by the pool, this one had a table with umbrella and LED lights around the umbrella pole. Where one has mismatched leftover linens this one had top of the line all matching. In other houses I have felt like everything was a garage sale find but this is so obviously not the case here. They go beyond the extra mile. Worth every penny.
Owner's Response: We are *delighted* by your review and hope all future guests (and potential guests) take time to read it.

We do our best to help our guests enjoy the island like natives, and to provide a clean, safe, luxurious and fairly priced home to relax in. Thank you for sharing your experience, and for confirming that we're on the right track with the hospitality and amenities we provide. (-: Kent & Pa

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of spending a week at Kent and Pa's wonderful and very private retreat on Anna Maria Island.. We, along with our Brother and sister-in-law could not have imagined a more pleasurable and relaxing vacation.. Not only was the house imaculate and very well cared for,the grounds with it's screened in pool/spa was absolutely the best..Our hosts,Kent and Pa were, without a doubt most gracious and warm.. The island is beyond compare with it's quaint restaurants and Cafes and old time Florida Feel.. We will without fail find a way to return to our "house in paradise"

HOME BASE TROPICAL HAVEN

NEW MEXICO VISITOR Los Alamos, NM, USA
Review Submitted: September 1, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My wife and I and sister and brother in law just returned from a week in this wonderful home. Everything was spanking clean and Kent was a wonderful host (lives next door with Pa (did not meet but she seems to be the engine for cleanliness)). Pool is as good as it looks. Rented bikes (Ryder Bikes - Bradenton) for trips up and down island and - not to be missed - a ride through Robinson Preserve - just a few miles away. Bough fish at Bell (fresh fish Co.) on Cortez ave and cooked on gas grill. Two restaurants on piers (north end of island - Pine & something) - serve great local low-key fish dinners. House is fully equiped with kitchen equipment and is a delight!

We had a great 3 week vacation at the house, an ideal quiet location to explore and relax. The house was clean and just what we wanted. Our two girls (11 and 8) loved it and spent most of the time in the pool.
It has the most important things for a holiday - super comfy beds you can really sleep in, cold air con, cold beer, decent barby and good pool.
We hired a golf cart and only left the island twice, Bean point was great for dolpins and quiet beaches, what with lunch on the pier, swimming in the pool, Mr Bones barbeque, The Sandbar for a treat, the days really drifted by and you could loose all sense of time, even what day it was
Kent and Pa were great hosts and we would love to return, after 5 years renting villas in Portugal, this was luxury- we were not dissapointed and will return!!!

Island Paradise Reunion - The Sequel!

geigel Shaker Heights, OH
Review Submitted: August 25, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Last year, I organized an island retreat for me and some of my Ohio friends at this tropical hideaway. At the end of that week the only thing we wanted was to do it again next year! This was our second year of nonstop sun, beautiful beaches (within walking distance), and relaxing fun.

I thought the house had everything before, but Pa and Kent have added more Asian artwork, cooking accessories and a new stainless steel gas grill that made late night cookouts by the pool fun. This is a dreamhouse. As before it was immaculately clean on arrival, everything worked and we are grateful for the friendly hospitality. We had a ball and we'll see you next year!

Summertime Heaven

My family and I just got back from the best vacation we ever had! My wife, two children, and Mom spent a week basking in the sun and living large at this incredible home. The pool area, location, amenities of the home, and our hosts were are top notch! My Mom has some physical challenges and the flat entry, ranch style home, and walk in master bath shower were perfect for her.

The kids lover the pool and the big screen TV and Dad lover the outside speakers, pool, hot tub and easy beach living. Great location for anything you could want to do (beach, dining, boating). We will be back for sure (sooner than later).

Thanks Kent & Pa for the best vacation I've ever had!

Paradise Found!

We had the pleasure of spending a week in this beautiful house in July 2009 and our stay was a sincerely a fantastic experience. This is wonderful home is designed for comfort and simplicity. The home met all our needs and more. The enormous master suite, the beautiful d?cor, the abundance of amenities, and the gorgeous pool all added to the most relaxing weeklong vacation we have ever had. There is absolutely nothing we wanted for. Kent and Pa are the most gracious hosts ever. They certainly go out of their way to make guests feel at home. We had the time of our lives here and we never wanted to leave the house. The privacy is amazing. This is a place we will never forget. We loved it so much we are canceling a cruise we had planned and we are returning for another weeks stay with family in November 2009. Thanks for the memories.
Owner's Response: Dear Parrotheads, We can't wait to welcome you back in November when our island has true California weather. Oh, and thank you for showing us XM Channel 55 Margaritaville...it is now the *official* house radio station. (-: Kent & Pa

Fabulous Family Vacation

aubtig Bradenton, Florida
Review Submitted: July 5, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
All of the previous reviews were perfect! Kent and Pa were the best hosts and made our family feel right at home. We traveled all the way from Bradenton over the bridge onto the island. It took us an entire 20 minutes to arrive but it felt like we were 2,000 miles away. The pool was awesome for our two boys (11 and 8). The only time we could get them out was to eat. We went to the beach twice and it was such a short walk from the house. The house was so perfect that we didn't feel the need to ever leave. It had everything we could possibly want. We are already trying to plan our next stay out on the island!! Thanks again to Kent and Pa for a marvelous vacation!!

The London Girls

Review Submitted: June 30, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
I have read through all the reviews and absolutely agree with all the comments. We are three ladies from London, England, who enjoy a week's holiday every year - usually in Europe. However, this year we decided to do something special and opted to spend 2 weeks on Anna Maria Island. We were so impressed with the house and with Kent and Pa - what a lovely couple - so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. And the house - what can I say?! I am desperately trying to think of something different to add to the previous comments, but it's all been said. We cooked quite often in the house as it was too lovely to leave. We had a fabulous meal in the Beach Bistro - one of the top 10 restaurants in Florida. It's only a few minutes walk from the house and is well worth a visit for a special night out. Mr Bones was fun - fantastic ribs. We all spent a fortune in Armands Circle and also at Egrets Landing on the island. Sadly the time went by far too quickly and we had to fly back to the UK. We are missing the house and the pool! Thanks, Kent and Pa - we will definitely keep in touch and hopefully will see you when you visit the UK - or when we next visit AMI!

A Paradise found

Review Submitted: May 21, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
I have vacationed several years all over the state of Florida. This by far has been the best rental accommodation. The house is beautiful. From the pool to where it is situated on the island. What makes this place the best are the hosts Kent & Pa they know how to run a vacation home rental. From the time you arrive to the time you leave you will say this is the Florida I love. Laid Back and Peaceful. If you want Peace and tranquility on a beautiful island with the two best ambassadors being your host then you have found your spot. Look no farther you have found your Paradise.
