Absolutely Wonderful Accommodations

The VilleFranche Townhouse was all the space and amenities to make you feel at home. Our family of four couples had all the space required so that we weren’t in each other’s way. It was a four bedroom, two full bathrooms (shower, sink, toilet – bathtub) and a spare bathroom (toilet and sink). The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to prepare and serve a meal. The bathrooms were equipped with all the amenities required, including a hair-dryer. We stayed in early June where the weather was warm, and it was wonderful to have the shutters on the windows to keep the sun out, and the central air conditioning when it really got warm. As well, there was a fan in every bedroom.
Our host Dieter greeted us at the airport and showed us around the village and the Townhouse. He made recommendations for restaurants, laundry services, busses, trains, taxi drivers and taxi fares to ensure we were charged the proper amount. He checked in with us on the second or third day to ensure that everything was in order.
Upon our arrival there were cold drinks in the refrigerator and a bottle of wine as a gift from our Hosts Nicole & Dieter.
Our family stayed for one week at the VilleFranche Townhouse, and by far it was the most comfortable and most accommodating accommodations we had during our three-week trip to France. Dieter and Nicole have certainly kept in mind the comforts of home for a North American experience in Europe. We live in Canada and generally are used to the comforts of a two to three bathroom, four-bedroom home with a spacious kitchen, dining, living area and patio. To be absolutely truthful, this Townhouse did not disappoint in any aspect at all.
The views from the balcony down the roadway were stunning. It was close by to neighboring patisseries, markets, restaurants, banks, buses, trains, beaches, and boutiques and it was central to Monaco and Nice. If I were ever to return to this area, I would certainly not hesitate to book this apartment – it is a must.
Each of the four couples had privacy, although there were some that were early risers and some that preferred to sleep in, but no one was disturbed. Those that rose early could get up and go for coffee at the local cafés or restaurants, come back to the apartment and sit on the deck reading the paper, make some tea or coffee without disturbing anyone. Those who preferred to sleep later had the privacy to do so.

The apartment is perfectly located to explore the Cote D'Azur but also allowing you to easily escape the hussle and bussle of towns like Nice and Cannes if you need to. The village of Villefranche is delightful with a number of pleasant restaurants as well as bakery and other small shops to pickup your morning breakfast treats.
A very easy train ride to Monaco, Nice and Cannes make it an ideal base for exploring the region. And from Nice a gateway into the towns of the lower Alps.
Very clean and well setout apartment with fully stocked and modern kitchen.
The owner Dieter was increadibly accomodating and helpful with pickup and drop off from Nice airport as well as lots of advice about the nearby area and restaurants. A really nice introduction.
A real pleasure to stay here and will definately be back.

The Listing description was very accurate. This is a clean, family friendly apartment walking from everywhere including the rail connections to Nice and Monaco. A modern kitchen, great lounge room set up easily accommodates 7 people. The Owner is a gem, picks you up from the Airport and back again at all hours! I would recommend this property to anyone. Villefranche Sur Mer is a very pretty, tourist friendly and intimate village with many great places to eat and a nice public beach plus a couple of very cool private beaches open to all.

Lovely apartment and trustworthy owner.

We were two families traveling together to make a party of 8 and spent a week at this lovely apartment. The location really couldn't be better, just a few streets up from the water, restaurants and quaint specialty shops. The apartment itself is very clean and well cared for, but Dieter the owner is a treasure himself! We even made the terrible mistake of misplacing a key and Deiter handled the situation with grace and fairness. One's true character is revealed when things go awry and Dieter was kind, patient and trustworthy. You are in good hands with Dieter and this lovely apartment and we hope to visit again.
There are multiple stairs leading to and inside the apartment, but this wasn't a problem for our group. We look forward to visiting again!

Great Time Had by All. This is an ideal location.

We were 3 couples coming from Canada to cycle and enjoy the sights along the Cote D'Azur and we needed a central location with good transportation to Monaco and into Nice. This is the ideal location. It is close to the train station and to the bus line to Nice and yet is in the center of quaint little Villefranche. Close by there are great restaurants, a butcher, three bakeries and a small grocery store. It is also only about 100m from the waterfront with a good beach 2 blocks away.
In adition to the above, Dieter, the owner and landlord, is most helpful. He picked us up from the airport upon our arrival and gave us quick tour of Nice so that we could get our bearings. He also hauled us back to the airport at the end of the trip. He was also very helpful in assisting us with locating a car service, lining up a car rental for two of us and suggesting a great restaurant in Eze. He must have been a travel agent in a past life.
With the phenomenal cycling throughout the countryside, Old Town Nice, the Nice food market, shopping for the girls and Dieter's great apartment in Villfranche we will be back. What is not to like!

Wir, das sind meine Frau, meine drei Jungs im Alter von 12 - 20 Jahren und ich, hatten einen ausgesprochen schönen Urlaub in Villefranche-sur-mer.
Villefranche an sich ist schon ein super Ort. Aber dann auch noch die tolle Wohnung. Das war schon perfekt. Man kann es ja schon auf den Fotos sehen, dass die Wohnung hell und geschmackvoll eingerichtet ist.
Und alles, was man auf den Fotos sieht, stimmt auch. Wir haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Uns fehlte es an nichts. Und dann noch ein besonderes "Dankeschön" an die Vermieter für das herzliche Willkommen und ihre freundliche Hilfsbereitschaft.
Im Umfeld der Wohnung findet man alles was man zum Leben braucht. Wir mögen die kleine Geschäfte direkt nebenan, aber auch ein Supermarkt ist schnell erreichbar. Und schnell erreichbar ist auch das Meer. In zwei, drei Minuten ist man an der Promenade und in weiteren 10 Minuten am Strand. Man braucht eigentlich auch kein Auto. Das geht auch gut zu Fuß oder mit dem Bus. Wir haben zwar alles mit dem Auto gemacht, aber dann hat man das Problem mit dem Parkplatz. Ich würde es beim nächsten mal ohne Auto machen.
Also zusammenfassend! Alles perfekt. Einziger Nachteil, weil alles so schön ist: Der Abschied fällt schwer, man will gar nicht mehr weg. Aber man kann ja wiederkommen.

Fantastic week in Villefranche-sur-mer!

What a super vacation! 8 women stayed in this apartment in Villefranche and had the absolute best time ever. Dieter could not be more gracious and helpful. The apartment is better and nicer than the pictures and description - it was bigger than I expected also. Beds very comfortable, everything very very clean and new - every comfort! Very easy to get to - altho' you do have to walk up a steep cobblestone street with steps. Simple to get around the Cote d'Azure - the train is less than 5 min walk and will take you from Marseille to Italy and stops everywhere in between. Eze is a must see (go hungry)! We spent 3 days at the Monte Carlo Country Club to see the Tennis Tournament - so easy and fun! We also visited Nice, Antibes, Eze, Cannes and Cap St. Jean Ferrat (a nice walking tour) during our week. In Villefranche, there are many many great restaurants and shops and everyone is super nice - even tho' we know very little French. Our first day, we stopped for lunch at the restaurant w/green awnings in the middle of town and were entertained by the workers in alongside shops singing and dancing - good voices! - and very fun. Dieter picked us up in Nice and gave us a little tour of the attractions in Nice then showed us everything about the apartment and on our last day, he took us back to the airport - really above and beyond the call of duty! There are a couple of ways to get to this part of the world - fly into Nice or fly into Paris and take the train to Nice - some of us did one, some the other. The train is super - I recommend it highly. In fact, I recommend the entire vacation very highly. I hope we can go back very soon!

An ideal apartment in a wonderful place.

This apartment in Villefranche is everything it claims to be, and more. We had a wonderful week there. Dieter was there to pick us up at the station,and was always available to answer questions and be helpful and friendly. He also took us to the airport at the end of our stay. The apartment is ideally situated in a quiet part of Villefranche, close to everything we wanted to go and see. It is clean and well maintained. It has new appliances. There is a washing machine, but no drier, so you hang your washing up on a line on the balcony like everybody else. There is free TV and internet.
There are quaint narrow streets and alleyways, and a beautiful small courtyard right outside the door.There are plenty of good restaurants less than five minutes walk away. The beach is right there.
All five of us would have no hesitation in recommending this as a great place to stay for a week or two. The bus service is close by and amazingly cheap. You definitely do not need a car- there is nowhere to park, anyway.
I would not recommend it for people with disabilities or in wheelchairs because access is by steps either up or down a hill.

I stayed a week in August with my husband, 2 year old son ,my parents and my parents in law. It was so wonderful I regretted I just came for a week! This perfect Villefranche-sur-Mer apartment gave the whole family a vacation to fill with wonderful memories. The owner, Dieter and Nicole and their family were all so nice! They supported us so much, that we felt like we were staying at a friend’s place! Thank you so much for your hospitality! ( And thanks to my husband, who founded this apartment by coincidence on internet!)
The apartment was beautiful, clean, safe, big (especially the living/dining room) and had everything we needed. Dieter and Nicole even had toys for my son to play at the beach and at home. The life was just perfect! I went to the bakery ( I think it was open from 7:00 am already!) to get fresh bread, vegetables and fruits , just around the corner. Also the butchery around the corner was nice. There are several small supermarkets, but if you are looking for a big supermarket, you can reach it by bus or by car in about 10 minutes. There I could find nice fish as well. If you do not want to cook, no worries! There are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes. We enjoyed dinner at the water front , and it was romantic to see the boats in the sea and the lightings of St. Jean Cap Ferat. The food was very good and still affordable!
After our breakfast most of us went to the beach every morning just about 5 -10 minutes by feet, and enjoyed the clear water with many fishes! I felt so relaxing and so happy. I believe it must be one of the best places in the world. We also visited Nice, Monaco, St-Jean Cap Ferat, Antibes, Mougins, Biot, Turbie and other places by car , bus or train. Public transportation was very easy to use, so without a car will stay make the stay a wonderful one. Also I recommend the little tourist train that goes through the village, especially if you are with small children. Also there is a nice courtyard and fontaine just in front of the house, where my little son could run around without any cars nor bikes coming!

2nd visit as great as first

This is our second time staying at this townhouse and its worth a repeat visit ! Our first trip we stayed here 2 weeks ( I attended an intensive 4 weeks at the Institut de Français and my only regret was not finding this townhouse for the entire 4 weeks !)
The townhome is huge and the amenities are of the highest standard: air conditioning, dish washer, washing/drying machine and immaculately clean. You name it and they have taken care of the need.
The warm welcome from Dieter & Nicole make you feel like a visit with friends staying at their guest apartment (a great 4 bedroom fully loaded apartment !). They are attentive and are available to assist with any issues at any time. I have to say, though, in our 2 visits to their apartment, we've had no need to call as everything is always in perfect order.
Their offers to assist are very genuine and sincere and they work hard to ensure the visit meets your expectations and is as leisurely and stress-free as you can imagine.
Villefranche-sur-mer is an idyllic waterfront town in the south of France with easy access to the Sea, Nice, Monaco and the countryside. Car optional. Walking distance to the train station for a quick trip to Monaco or further ! Inexpensive bus service to Nice for a day trip or longer.
The town is a wonderful getaway and everything is walking distance: good restaurants, boulangerie, groceries, local site-seeing and the beach.
As this was our second visit, we spent more time just exploring Villefranche and playing in the sea. The water temperature in early July was warm and the air temperature perfect day or night.
