Beautiful spot, convenient to William Holland Lapidary School
The other reviews are quite accurate in describing the cabin, so I will try to mention a few things they did not. We had a wonderful time and would gladly stay again. We happened to pick a week when rains were very heavy and flash flood warnings were issued. While it was a bit soggy, the cabin was high and dry and we always had access to the roads. There is a large field on the property for walking your dogs and a small creek in front of the cabins. The only time we heard anything other than the occasional bird was on the 4th of July, but even then the fireworks were muted and did not disturb us.
The interior is rustic and uses extensive amounts of naturally finished wood with appropriate decorations including sconces by the bed for reading, natural wood furniture and wildlife themed accents. It is set up to make maximum use of space and we never felt cramped.
For those visiting the William Holland Lapidary School, you will find it about 5 miles away (about a ten minute drive over a stream, passing cow pasture and wonderful views along the way). Several small towns are within a 10 minute drive of the cabin, with a movie theater, water access, tubing and rafting, a dozen or more restaurants, a pair of wineries, a couple of spa / resort areas, antique shops and much more.
As far as cons go, they are very few indeed. The VRBO site lists the beds as queen size but both the bedroom and pull out are full size. For those needing very high speed internet connections it might not be suitable. We had no trouble checking email, browsing, etc but the speed was not adequate for streaming video or other data intensive operations. For those on the Sprint network there is no coverage at the cabins location.
I truly hope to stay here again. We had an excellent time and the cabin was a wonderful, comfortable base to work from and pleasant to return to at night. I will recommend it to friends and family alike and hope you find it as enjoyable as we did.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us! We are about 5 miles from the lapidary school and Young Harris College and about 11 miles from the John C Campbell Folk school. The only cell carriers that get service in this area are AT&T and Verizon - T-Mobile and Sprint won't. I promise the bed in the bedroom is a queen Sealy Posturepedic - maybe you are used to a king bed and it seems small?? Thanks again for staying with us!
