DO NOT RENt!!!!
This house is not as it is represented on website. Every bed and the bedding on it were so old and dirty. The house was filthy when we checked in and I did notify Melanie who checked us in that the home was not clean. She instructed us to break into the owners closet to get cleaning supplies and a vacum rather than sending the cleaning crew to clean it. My husband had to buy bleach to clean all the scum out of the showers it was so thick it was like standing on jelly. This was the filthiest rental I have ever stayed in. The kitchen had duct taped microwave, minimal dishes and about six forks for a house that sleeps 14. No can opener it was as if everything in this house was just ignored and they just take your money and know you are stuck after arriving with a party of 14 you don't have many options to move somewhere else. The house was beaten up so bad they clearly don't do any maintenance and we had to do repairs ourselves just so we could use somethings in the home like lock the front door. Actually had to replace the front door knob. They sewage was backing up outside the day after we got there and they came and pumped. Six weeks after trying to get my deposit back finally heard back with a picture of wipes and said we are being charged for septic problem! WHATTTTT we were never told anything and never were any wipes flushed. This was outrageous I could never get anyone to respond and six weeks later I am being told I am responsible for something that was clearly as issue before we arrived. The owner will not respond to me or call me back. Totally stole my money!!! Even if this didn't happen the house was gross and poor poor condition and we slept on an air matress the beds were terrible. Furniture broken and everything was so damgaged it was as if the home was a spring break rental.
Owner's Response: - All repairs and cleaning issues/complaints were conducted and completed within 48hrs At the convenience of the tenants schedule, therefore, instructed entry to owners closet to retrieve additional items Wanted Immediately.
- Furniture moved throughout the home and not placed back in it's original state, as instructed at check in And on 2nd day of completion of issues. Also, indoor table and chairs on 2nd floor were moved outdoor for patio use discovered upon check out.
(If bedding was an issue, why not put twin beds together as was allowed for couples and past tenants, place air mattress on top for comfort, instead of remove furniture from an entire room?).
- Sanitation: clear instruction verbally and in writing in Welcome Packet upon check in. Specifically "Only Toilet Paper" stickers were placed on all toilets and explanation to tenant on schedule of pumping 1-2 days Prior upon check in. Also included more instruction on 3rd day call when pump overflowed. End result was the "flushable wipes" were found in unit restroom next to toilet upon check out.
- Front door handle was Not loose or damaged upon entering/exiting home At check in for notable maintenance, whereas informed by tenant on 3rd day.
- Upon 3 or more days of visiting home for maintenance, more than 14 guests were in and on the property than allowed per the lease. Witnessed by Melanie and her assistant Ashleigh was noted. Also, Check Out Procedures were Not followed, when presented written form in Welcome Packet as well as listed in view located on refrigerator.
Due to the complaints completed within 48hrs, there were -0- monies deducted from the deposit for all items listed above Except the sanitation issues for oceanfront properties that were clearly and fully explained to lessee, as well as other members of their party, in detail, on 3 occasions during their stay, deductions were warranted.The Guests comments are motivated by the loss of $235 the cost of cleaning up the hazard they created . We do not withhold a portion of a guests deposit lightly .However they were clearly the only contributing cause to the problem I would asked potential clients to view all reviews and take in consideration the factors outline herein and call if you have any concerns Thank you
