Great Find

This cottage is cozy, comfortable, clean and convenient! This property is located in a quiet neighborhood, but is close to a grocery store, restaurants, Blockbuster, gas station....all the necessities....and within a 5-10 minute drive to Annapolis Naval Academy and the historic district. The house is an ideal size for a small family. The living room is furnished with a comfy sectional plus a chaise and the dining room table seats four. The house wasn't lacking anything that I expected and the owners put in some nice details in terms of decorating and hospitalty that I was not expecting. There is a good sized deck on the back and side of the house for more living space in warmer months. I will definitely return if I have occasion to go back to Annapolis.

Nice location

This cottage was just what we needed when visiting our Plebe for parents weekend. The location was great and the neighborhood was very quiet. Just what we were looking for. The backyard was a bonus for our boys to reconnect and hang out. The neighborhood beach, although small, was not crowded even on a Sat. The owner was very helpful as we had some issues with the cable, which he resolved. The sleeping areas, towels and grill were great! The owner is very accommodating--even locating my lost earrings left behind from our visit!

Great little cottage!

This great cottage was exactly as advertised, which is always a blessing! Curtis was prompt and helpful on all communications, and all professionally handled. It was perfectly clean and had just about all you could need. The air conditioning worked very well, which was a plus on the hotter days.
We were on the go to much to enjoy the neighborhood as much as I would have liked, but my 9 year old son did meet a friend at the little park down the road. My 14 year old son, thought he was in heaven having a TV in the bedroom. The house had a nice deck to entertain on if you needed/wanted the space.

It was close to grocery stores, Giant and Safeway. I found almost everything I needed at the Giant store, including a specialty section to accommodate food allergies and Celiac.

The location worked well for us. We spent a few days around the Annapolis area. For all of our D.C. time we drove to New Carrolton station and parked there. We parked just across the street from station for $4/day. The station attendants were very helpful.

We cooked most of the time in the cottage, so we didn't need to eat in Annapolis much. However, the first night we arrived was Saturday evening after Naval Academy Graduation. Downtown was packed with people, very crowded but exciting to see. We stopped by Middleton Tavern. Maybe because it was so busy they weren't up to regular service, but service was very slow and food not terrific for price paid.

We drove all the way to the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum, well worth the drive if you have the time. Traffic was a nightmare both directions, North loop in a.m., South loop in p.m. The key to driving anywhere, is don't be in a rush and give yourself plenty of time!

We would love to return to the cottage in the future if the opportunity ever arrises. Wonderful to know what to expect!

Curtis, thank you and your wife for sharing your beautiful little cottage with our family!

My husband and I stayed at the cottage at the end of March '11 and had a wonderful weekend. I think what impressed us most is that the cottage looks the same as the pictures. We often rent homes such as this and sometimes we arrive and it's disappointing. We were NOT disappointed with this rental. We especially liked having the kitchen. Many shopping and restaurant options are within 15 minutes and the New Carrollton Metro was an easy 20 minute ride. We bought all day passes for Metro and visited DC as well as a Bethesda. One quick note: it is well water so bring bottled water for drinking if you are not accustomed to well water.

Great alternative to staying at a hotel!

We spent our USNA reunion here instead of a $250/night room at the "Inn". Plenty of room for two couples with a fully stocked kitchen. Big enough to entertain our classmates on the huge decks. We will be putting this place down for our next reunion!
Beds were very comfortable and neighborhood was nice and quiet. Recommend carpooling into Annapolis! We even had Wi-fi for my un-retired roommate and his wife! Buy water at Sam's club--well water is not for everyone...
Curtis was great and security deposit was back quickly...

Based on the property description and reviews, I chose this property to rent for two weeks while my teenage daughter attended sailing school. The listing was accurate, and the pictures precisely depicted its cozy comfort. The property was located a mere 12 minutes from downtown Annapolis and 10 minutes from the sailing school on the Chesapeake, yet its location was in a safe and quiet neighborhood. I was impressed with its cleanliness, and the AC provided thankful relief after being outdoors in humid, nearly 100 degree weather. The washer and dryer were welcome amenities, as my daughter usually came home wet and in need of her clothes being laundered! Most especially, I appreciated the home being smoke- and pet-free, as all of us have significant environmental alleriges. Curtis was accessible and helpful from beginning to end, including assisting me with wireless internet access so I could work as needed. It was a great value, and as another reviewer said, so much nicer than the hotel experience. Annapolis is wonderful with plenty to do. One night we had a terrifc meal at The Rockfish Grill, and then walked over the bridge to listen to a free outdoor concert at Dock Park given by the USNA Jazz Band. Tea and scones or brunch at Reynold's Tavern are a must. Pusser's and Buddy's were less enjoyable because the food was good but not great, and they were more "touristy" venues, yet the views of the water could not be beat. We would definitely return, and would recommend the property to friends with a small family, as bedrooms were tiny. Thank you for sharing your home with us, Curtis!

Great Find and a Great Value

We are fortunate to have 2 sons attending the Naval Academy and so are often up and over from Texas and looking for Annapolis accomodations. How lucky to have stumbled into Curtis one day down at the lovely nearby dock while renting another property. He told us about his and and so our next visit we rented his lovely home and couldn't have been more pleased! The home is clean, comfortable and the back deck with the retractable awning made for a couple wonderful evenings of grilling and relaxing with our boys! My husband's mother was in her element cooking away in the kitchen all her grandson's "favorites" and making sure to make enough extra to bring back to the other midshipmen!! It's just a short walk around the corner to the dock with a beautiful view of the water, less than a 5 minute car ride to the nearest grocery store and about 10 minutes or so to the Academy. Curtis is a pleasure to talk to and his rates are incredibly reasonable for the area which is why we will definitely be coming back!! By the way Curtis, I hope you found the piece of cheesecake we left you in the freezer!!! :))

I rented this cottage for a week-long stay for a friend's wedding... Curtis was more than helpful in the setup of the plans and payments, and was very informative about the goings-on around the property. The smoker and grill were just great... made it so we could enjoy a good ol barbeque while on vacation... cause who wants to eat out for a whole week anyway... =D .. The house was just wonderful and I personally enjoyed lazing away the late evenings on the spacious back porch. I would recommend this cottage to anyone needing a comfortable place to stay for any amount of time. SO much better than the cookie cutter hotel experience. Thank you again, Curtis and company, for making our stay so easy!
