So nice we stayed an extra night!

I know what you're thinking. "Hmmm....looks good in print, but what's it *really* like? How's the view? Is it easy to get to the beach?"
The house is quite nice, the view lovely (although I'm sure the whales were cavorting just beyond the trees that block the ocean from the deck), and beach access nearby, private, and not difficult to use.
Entering the house, you will find a laundry room to the right and full bathroom to the left; go up the stairs to a living room (tv, stereo, fireplace, games/movies), small dining area, and small kitchen.
The next level down contains two bedrooms. Down yet another small flight and there's a family room with tv/video games, daybed, and bath with jacuzzi tub. This room was rather cold during our stay but the kids still played there.
The house was comfortable and very clean. Perfect for a beach vacation--nice enough to feel like we are in a lovely setting, but not so perfect that we were afraid to have the kids and dog there.
The owner says there's parking, but no room for a boat or rv. And he means it! The street is single lane, the road fairly muddy (spring rain/snow), and a tight turn to park.
The trail to the beach is just past the driveway to the house. It is not officially "marked" but easy to find. Not steep, not winding, not too hard to walk up and down. After the night of rain, our girls did slide on it a bit.
The beach was not busy at all--and on Wednesday I couldn't see anyone else. It is accessible by stairs from the Devil's Punchbowl, but this house is just far enough down from there that any traffic is just passing through.
There are three kid-sized wetsuits (including booties and gloves) at the house and our daughters made very good use of them!! Some beach toys, chairs, and a kite were in the storage shed, but I didn't know about them until the end of the trip.
Downsides?
Hmm...no teakettle or cookie sheet (for pizza).
A sheet of rules/procedures was on the fridge, the owner's phone number was posted on the door, and tourist pamphlets in the tv cabinet--but I always enjoy paging through that Guest House binder on the coffee table containing maps, directions, recommendations, etc.
The house is an easy distance from Newport, Depoe Bay, and Lincoln City; we were able to go to the Aquarium, shopping, a lighthouse, and still feel like we had plenty of relaxation at the house.
I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone who wants to stay on the Oregon Coast.
