This 2300 sq. ft. single-story house has 5 bedrooms with 3 full baths and central air conditioning. All bedrooms were fully renovated in 2012. Take in unsurpassed views of the beach and ocean from the second story observatory or watch the waves from the back of the main house, which is lined with sliding glass doors. Enjoy privacy on a virtually private & secluded beach and within the home’s two separate wings, joined by a common outdoor courtyard. This house is perfect for romantic getaways, groups of couples, or families with children. Enjoy panoramic views from the observatory and sun deck with lounge chairs. Grab a drink from the indoor bar, enjoy some music from the Bose Ipod player and watch the waves from the hammock or outdoor shower. Sandals Emerald Bay & Garnd Isle Resort: The house is approximately 2.5 miles from the new Sandals Emerald Bay, Greg Norman Golf, Spa and Marina, as well as Grand Isle Resort. The golf course is a Greg Norman designed course. You will certainly want to eat out and some of the new restaurants, or have our local Bahamian cook come to the house to prepare a meal for you. Excursions with Pat (on his boat -- The4Cs): There are a host of excursions available during your stay. Captain Pat Smith is a fisherman and has a boat for tours and various excursions. He is a life-long Exuma resident and a great resource for all things regarding Exuma. He has a 30 foot boat and can plan a day (or half-day) for your group to head out by boat to the various Cays; to the Exuma Land & Sea Park; fishing, conch and/or lobster gathering; a trip to Staniel Cay (also the home of Thunder-ball Grotto (extraordinary caves for exploration, etc., where the James Bond movie “Thunderball” was filmed)); Sampson Cay (home of the swimming pigs); Iguana Cay (these iguanas are more like small dinosaurs); Sandy Cay (where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed) as well as a tours of the islands and cays owned by various celebrities (Tim McGraw & Faith Hill; David Copperfield; Johnny Depp; Nicholas Cage, etc.). There are many more things to see and do and you should speak with Pat well before your arrival.
Recent Renovation: Note that in 2012, all five bedrooms of the house were completely renovated in two phases.
At first, the free standing pod, which contains two bedrooms and one shared bathroom, was gutted from floor to ceiling. The newly constructed unit now contains two newly constricted 13 x 13 bedrooms and one new, oversized shared bathroom. Each bedroom has a queen bed. In December 2012 we likewise completed the renovation of the three bedrooms on the main section of the house. The Master Bedroom and Bathroom were completely gutted and are new from floor to ceiling: new imported tile floors with high-end custom woodwork wainscoting and crown moldings. The oversized en-suite Master Bathroom is likewise new, with an oversized walk-in shower, free standing double vanities and a separate toilet room. The Master Bedroom is also flanked by a walk-in closet.
Bedrooms two and three were likewise renovated, with newly finished walls, custom bead-board wood working and crown moldings.
