This was the most peaceful, relaxing place we've ever stayed. We spent a week at Powderhorn Lodge last August and did not want to leave. Solitude is known for its snow, but don't dismiss the summer months. From the amazing views, exhilarating hikes, plentiful widelife and spectacular wildflowers this area has a lot to offer. (The highlight of our trip was "hiking" with 2 Bull Moose on the trail to Lake Mary)!!
After our late morning hikes we would come back to our comfortable condo to take a soak in the hot tub or lounge on the balcony watching the Aspens on the opposite hill sparkle in the afternoon sun. The spacious rooms were very cozy and the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities to make a hearty breakfast or substantial dinner. We also enjoyed the many amenites in the village such as the restaurant, spa, pub, general store, ski lift, bike rentals, BBQ and I already mentioned the hot tub!
Even though Solitude has the feeling of a far away place, it is only 15 miles from Salt Lake City and all a city has to offer. We also enjoyed a few side trips to the surrounding area. We drove over to Park City, via Guardsman Pass and south through American Fork to visit Timpanogas Caves(a must see)!!
We will stay here again and we highly recommend this wonderful condo and the Solitude that comes with it.
