Family Christmas 2012 5+ STARS

5 of 5
Submitted: January 15, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
I can't say enough wonderful things about this home (it truly is a home, not just a vacation rental) and the owner! Our family spent the most amazing Christmas together ever. This home was perfect for all of our family coming in from out of town and made a prefect landing point for all of our local family to drop by and have Christmas Dinner.

This home craters to all ages. There is just enough room to everyone privacy and yet still feels so cozy. We were able to have the tweens downstairs playing video games while the adults watched Christmas movies with the toddlers. We even had a Christmas tree set up. This is a true family home!

The views were absolutely amazing! We watched the storms roll in and woke up the sunshine from the master bedroom and drank coffee out on the deck.

Carol was the best. She answered all my emails, even the one I sent about the garbage pick up on the Christmas Day! I always felt connected and could get any question answered.

I know my family and I will be going back for another great time together.

Another Relaxing Stay

5 of 5
Submitted: January 4, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
My family has stayed in this house several times with groups of 4-6 people (and always our dog). We have a wonderful stay every time and can't wait til we can stay there again. The house is always clean and well stocked/organized. The set up of the house allows for several different spaces to relax, but still be a part of the visiting. The upstairs/downstairs set up is great for allowing kids to have their own fun/space, while the adults visit upstairs. I truly feel like I am able to relax in this home!

The beach access is amazing and is a very, very short walk. The access is usually physically easy, but this past time the winter storms made it a bit more difficult if you weren't steady on your feet. Also great is the short distance to town - close enough for teenagers to walk.

I would recommend staying at this house!

Best Vacation Rental in Bandon

My husband recently hosted a group of classmates from the 1964 Class of the United States Naval Academy. They were blown away by Seascape. After their stay, we asked for their thoughts on the vacation rental. Below are some of the individual comments we received from the guests.

Five stars! Fantastic location on the beach. Very comfortable with lots of room. Everything was immaculate and in pristine condition. Easy drive to golf courses. I would recommend this place without reservation.

I thought the house was great. The view was spectacular, the house was clean, and the features (TV’s, kitchen, etc.) were superb.

I thought the unit was well stocked, extremely well organized, very clean with every needed amenity readily at hand. In a word – terrific. I would recommend it highly.

The place was super, well stocked, nicely furnished, and superbly located next to the beach. Outstanding views and easy access to the beach/water and close enough to town to walk if you choose.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in 2014. Seascape will be our number one choice for hosting our siblings.

Great Beach House!!!!

We have rented this house now 4 or 5 times and love it. This time we had a large family group together for Thanksgiving and rented both sides. This house has the best location in the Bandon area. Right on the beach and close to town. We have rented other beach houses in Bandon and we like this one the best.

We love being able to hear the waves and fog horn at night. I relax and unwind more when we stay here then any other house we have ever rented. You won't regret staying in this house. Well managed and Carol is a great person to work with.

If you are looking for a Beach House in Bandon this is the one to rent.

Perfect Design, Perfect Location, Perfect Bandon Bash

Our group of 7 adults stayed in both units for a long weekend of golf and birthday celebrations. We were so impressed with the design of Seascape. The moment each of us stepped into Seascape we noticed how clean the units are and how wonderful they smelled - a major accomplishment in ocean air. The views from each of Seascape windows are breathtaking. Seascape is very user friendly. When we needed to rinse shoes on the front deck or chairs on the back deck we turned around and found a hose waiting for us. Cooking in the Mermaid unit was a breeze. The kitchen is very well equipped. We enjoyed coffee and putting together a puzzle I had purchased for the occasion in the Coastal Watch Room. The great room was the perfect place to hold dinner parties. Each couple had their own retreat with the use of the two units. The contract was very clear. It was very easy to connect with the owner when we arrived and had a few operational questions. It is fun to do laundry with the secret location of the washer and dryer.
Seascape location is great for beach walkers and Bandon Dunes Resort golfers. We enjoyed meals at the Bandon Dunes Resort - Pacific Dunes Club House, The Loft and Lord Bennett's. Coastal Mist and Bandon Bakery offered wonderful desserts for our dinners. We found helium balloons and very attentive employees at Tiffany's Drug Store. Bandon Museum and visit to the Lighthouse were very educational.
There are so many nooks and crannies in Seascape. The design gives you lots of options to be together or enjoy private space. Can't wait to return to Seascapes and open the garden gate to walk the path to beach.

awesome vacation!

Hi, Carol,

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the cottages- they are beautiful, and were the perfect setting for my 50th birthday. We've never stayed at a place that was so well-stocked; from the kitchen with food staples, dish-ware, pots and pans, and appliances, to linens and blankets, to games and crab-pots. You clearly take the time and effort to ensure that people have an enjoyable stay.

And I have to say that that's the first time I've stayed anywhere where the pictures on the website are exactly as it is (or, actually, more stunning when seen in person!)- fabulous spacious cottages, and a breathtaking location/view just yards from the beach. We were all so reluctant to leave!

I would have called you yesterday to say this thank-you, but I stepped in a deeper-than-anticipated tide-pool at the beach, went down waist-high, and saturated my iphone as well as camera :). Oh, well.... the cost of visiting paradise!

My boyfriend has had a vacation cottage in Petaluma for 10 years that he lists on VRBO. He was incredibly impressed with your cottages (how well-built they are, the up-keep, how well-stocked they are), and wants me to tell you that. - And he is not easily impressed :).

We utilized the crab pots well, catching 15 crabs in total. We also picked enough blackberries to make 3 pies and took a whole bag home to make blackberry jam!

Thank-you again for ensuring that we all had a wonderful, most memorable week, Carol.

Great home to relax and cook!

My husband and I, along with our 2 doggie girls, enjoyed a fabulous week in this lovely home! My girls love to join us on vacation and adore the beach. Lots to sniff and explore! It may seem like too large of a house for just the four of us, but we love having all the space and privacy. The dogs love the coast watch room. With the large windows, they could survey all. We appreciate being able to bring our girls to such a lovely home.
I love to cook and take advantage of time on vacation to do so. I usually have to bring cookware/utensils from home to accomplish my menus, but I do not need to when we stay here. The kitchen is so completely appointed that I wanted for nothing. Basic spices, oil, vinegar, even sugar and flour are stocked and ready for your use. They even supply a crockpot and waffle-iron! The cookware is not a mismatch of cast off pieces but stainless Cuisnart. I love to cook my little heart out in this home. The home is clean and organized. Many small details are seen to. And you are welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine upon arrival.
Bandon is one of our favorite beaches. The rock formations are stunning, agates galore and fun things to explore with the changing of the tides. The walk to the beach is short and the views from the home are amazing. We were treated to some wonderful sunsets while sitting on the balcony. The town of Bandon is fun to walk around. There is much to do in the area, but we found that we did not want to leave the house! We took several daily walks on the beach and would come back to the house, curl up in front of the fireplace and enjoy puppy snuggle time.
I highly recommend this home not just to big family gatherings, but to couples, doggie parents and fellow foodies looking for a relaxing, romantic, well appointed house to get away from it all.

Just One Negative Item

5 of 5
Submitted: April 7, 2012 Stayed: April 2011
The negative item: Because of another commitment I was not able to accompany my friends and family to Seascape this year! Otherwise there simply are no negatives.

I have driven from the San Francisco Bay Area for a springtime week at Bandon every year for the past 30 years, first with my parents, eventually with my own grandchildren -- that tells you how I feel about the town, the coast, the sea air, the people. It's only in the past decade that I've become acquainted with Seascape (for the very good reason that it's so newly built), and I now make our reservation a year in advance to be sure that we will be in those splendid, peaceful surroundings again.

We use both sides of the duplex, with all the nooks and crannies for private reading, writing, solitaire, napping, gazing at the waves -- but also great-rooms large enough for us to assemble on one side for a community supper each evening or on the other for a community jigsaw puzzle laid out on the dining table. Or on either side for a movie on the BIG but unobtrusive TV screens. The kitchens are so thoughtfully stocked, the linens so fresh, the chairs so cushy -- plus beach and quiet-time supplies for little ones and game cupboards for those who haven't brought their own Scrabble or dominoes. Oh yes, I am missing the trip this year ...

Besides the spectacular beauty just a few steps from the back door(s), how peaceful is Seascape? For the second year, I'm told by the friends I couldn't accompany this year, a mama kildeer has laid her eggs in the side yard, with papa doing his decoy dance to keep strangers a safe distance away. That's peaceful! (For excitement, walk those few steps to the beach, or the half mile or so to shop or browse in Old Town Bandon. Local candies! Jams from local berries! A fine bookstore! A wonderful new library!)

As the younger generation of our group "ages" and goes off to college, with uncertain spring breaks, we will possibly need only one half of the duplex in the next few years. It will be fun to have neighbors who appreciate Seascape as much as we do. Good traveling and happy landings to all.

Great for a Group

5 of 5
Submitted: March 31, 2012 Stayed: October 2011
Our group of 6 couples has spent at 2-3 days here each Oct. for the past 4 years. Given the buildings lay out, it's easy for 2 or 3 couples to spend an extra day, and when everyone arrives to open both units. The large combined living/dining room make it possible for all of us to be in one unit. The fully equipped kitchens (with spices no less!) makes it easy for us to do group meals -- and use one room for dinner as the table extends to seat 12.

The sun rooms are great places in which to play games and watch the ocean. And there's even a small alcove/office space off the living room for those who need a spot to work or use a computer. Easy walk down to a long stretch of beach, and the location is close enough to walk into town.

The property is always well-maintained -- a delightful place that I'd recommend without hesitation.
